Absolutely brilliant friendly staff

Beautiful period property and lovely owner. The room didn’t have a hairdryer or a kettle, which confused me! I was also tilted backwards laying in bed. I’m unsure whether it was due to the floorboards leaning or the mattress itself. Hearing the church bells from the room was lovely.

A beautiful conversion of the church rectory, this unique hotel was friendly and clean, and included a superb breakfast!

Not the best mattress so not the best sleep, the second night we used the duvet as a mattress topper and that was better. The place is beautiful, just the bed let it down.

The property was very good but I booked a family size room with two beds through Expedia. But Expedia didn't relay this to the hotel. The hotel did everything that they could do to accommodate us.

Lovely old 17th century building. Everyone so welcoming and helpful . Breakfast lovely, coffee absolutely fabulous. Only slight issue Wi-Fi in stables not strong, however 3G in the area ( Vodafone) was great so wasn’t a real problem.

Shower mixer faulty and cuold only get very hot water

The hotel is a country-style property with nicely decorated common rooms.
The hallways and rooms do require updating. Our room seemed initially cleaned, but when I plugged in my charger at the point behind a dresser, I came away with dust and dirt. The bed was comfortable, and the view was lovely.
We didn't have a restaurant reservation (it was a spontaneous trip) and were told at check-in to use Google. No assistance was offered.
The breakfast was good, but dirty plates left by previous customers surrounded us. There were three serving staff, so didn't understand why the plates weren't cleared.
While Covid fallout may explain some shortcomings, the price tag currently does not accurately reflect the offering. Hospitality is a tough business, but the basics need to be right.

This hotel was booked as it was lised as "pet friendly" and we booked the most expensive room. However Dogs are not allowed in any part of the main hotel and the Dog friendly room we were obliged to have in its place was of far lesser standard. The bathroom was poor with an unusable shower. The hotel is lovely but is not in any way dog friendly...strongly advise you to leave the dog at home. We were offered no refund and told that we should have booked directly and there was nothing they could do about it in fact they were just uninterested in solving the dilemma and insisted it was my fault for booking with a third party. This is a beautiful Hotel with polite staff but is poorly managed.

Stay was ok, food good but would have liked a bit more choice. Our room was in the coach house which was small but adequate. One night I ordered salmon and sadly there was quite a few bones which I would have thought would have been taken out?? mentioned to one of the waitresses about the bones but just said oh sorry!

Affordable accommodation near attractions and beaches in Filey and Scarborough. Hunmanby itself doesn’t have much to offer, although the hotel is in the best area.

Lovely place to have a family meal, outside garden offers privacy and shelter. Accommodation abit expensive. Problems were soon rectified by family.

We received a warm welcome and felt at ease as soon as we arrived. A lovely old building in wonderful grounds. Staff all very aware of Covid procedures and we felt very safe. We were in room 9 at the top of the house, and up a very steep flight of stairs so you need to be quite fit to get up there, but well worth it. Large room with super large bathroom and bath. Nice view over gardens and sea in distance. Spotlessly clean and very comfy extra large bed. Coffee maker, biscuits and water in room. Dined in the restaurant in the evening after having a drink in the friendly bar area. Food excellent especially breakfast which was fresh and of large proportions. All staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble.Location within easy reach of Filey, Scarborough & Bridlington and we were lucky to have great weather for 2 days and long walks on the beach. Husband played golf at Flamborough Head golf club about 9 miles away. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great stay.

Very pretty property set in lovely grounds. Warm and friendly staff. Decor well done and spotless. We stayed in the upper annex and the shape of the roof meant restricted head height so we hit our head a couple of times learning to duck. Do not misunderstand though, it's a lovely property run by very nice people and we would stay again.
