Bar and restaurant were good. Friendly staff. The rooms need updating. The bathroom in desperate need of replacing. Bed was uncomfortable. We checked in and went to our room. It smelt of wet dog which was horrendous. They gave us another room straight away but the original one should not have smelt like that.

Very helpful reception especially as we misplaced our room key. Very friendly staff at breakfast and dinner and food was really good.
The room was quite small and maybe a little dated but was very clean.

lovely room friendly staff and nice breakfast

Great room with a terrace. Excellent breakfast.
Bit disappointed to get a very expensive gin and tonic in a tumbler served by a barman yawning his head off.
Other than that, I would recommend this hotel.

My partner, I and our 5 month old baby arrived on 12th July 2024. We originally had room 211. We thought at first room looked ok, not the greatest of sizes considering we had a 5 month old and a crib needed to be in the room, so we moved the room about a bit and before unpacking, I changed our baby and noticed a few bugs over the bed. I immediately got her off the bed and I looked around the room to see a large quantity of bugs all over the top, inside of the windows. I couldn’t say what type of bugs they were. We made sure to close all our bags and went straight down to reception to complain. We were then given room 211. My partner checked the window whilst the staff kindly helped us move all our baggage, and more bugs were found in the 2nd room. We asked for a refund and left the hotel as quickly as possible. We had just travelled 3 hours to get to Bournemouth, and our holiday started off horrific due to this experience. The staff were quick to help, very apologetic and we did receive a refund, but we never expected to be in Bournemouth with our little baby not knowing where we were going to stay.
When changing our little one the following day, I noticed a couple of what looked like bite marks (raised red bumps) which concerns me due to her being exposed to these bugs when on the bed and she’s never had bite marks before. I don’t expect to take our little girl on holiday for the first time and have to come home and take her to the doctors as a precaution because of this.

Great property. Excellent value for money. Responsive staff. Good location.

Lovely hotel 5 mins walk to the sea, have stayed before and will again

It felt like a immigration hotel we didn’t even sleep in it
Checked out and left & lost the money
It’s 2 star at best

We made a last minute diversion here when we missed the ferry due to a car fire closing the motorway. The staff were super welcoming and understanding and we had a great stay. We enjoyed the pool, games room and restaurant.

Riviera hotel
Wow right from arriving the staff were all great, really helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Great location only 5 minutes walk from the beach, room was super clean and tidy would recommend.
4.2
Not ideal if disabled, they might have accessible rooms but one tiny lift and breakfast area only available by stairs no ramp! Also disabled parking is not big enough if you are always in a wheelchair, they don't allow for enough space!
4.2
A one night stay in a good, slightly old fashioned hotel. Lots of festive fun, with friendly staff. Charge for our dog was an acceptable £10. Breakfast was good, but had to eat it in the bar because of the dog. Room was large and the beds good. Shower was not very well situated or powerful; our only gripe.

We were put in a room on 1st floor with a warning that the Christmas party would not finish until 01:00 … for 3 nights. After complaining we were moved to 2nd floor & it was noise free
4.2
Very enjoyable stay and very clean

Helpful staff, busy Medium size hotel in Bournemouth, nice simple menu in Bar & Restaurants.
Quiet location short distance from the beach, but a bit of an uphill climb.
I Alum Chime just off Westbourne.
A selection of both hotel rooms and self-catering apartment.
Staff keep the place very tired and clean.

This was our third stay at the hotel in a year. We love it , it’s clean and comfortable and really near the lovely beaches of Poole and Bournemouth. The staff are really friendly and helpful . We will be back !

Great location, free parking and very clean. Staff friendly and helpful, in particular Karolina on reception who was extremely accommodating, cheerful and personable. Riviera hotel is a must stay ticking all the boxes and pet friendly too!. Highly recommended.

The hotel is showing it age a bit, bathroom was a bit tired but clean. The bar area and reception seating were comfortable clean and tidy. Bar meals were good but service was lacking, customers at the bar were ignored while the 2 staff struggled with the till system and it seemed that only one of them could a sale leaving the other waiting. If you don't like dogs find somewhere else, cutomers holding young dogs in their arms stood at the bar, close to the food delivery station, an extremely large greyhound walked back and forth through dining areas. For me dogs have become what smokers were in the past. You have no idea if your room has previously been occupied by a dog.😤

Staff were great, especially Reception who helped with any questions. Lifts worked and lower ground lift from car park was so helpful. Our room was comfy and cheerful, with lovely bed sheets, cleaned everyday. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious with lots of choice. I’m gluten & lactose intolerant and the kitchen catered for this without making me feel awkward. Good location with 6 minutes walk to Alum Chine, hilly but doable with a bad foot and the sea front is flat, with a little train to take you to Bournemouth Pier.
4.2
Staff generally good on customer service, but the exception being the Bar and Grill staff at times were slow and their attention to customer service was lack lustré. Senior staff great, but need to spread their approach and attitude to the others. Good location for beach but nothing much in walking distance for alternative restaurants etc. The closest restaurant on the beach closes Monday and Tuesday which is odd for holiday season. Car park is secure but more demand than spaces so roadside parking locally is an option but not the best as all very busy.
4.2
Nice location and what I like about this property if there not full give you a bigger room even when not requested little touch that makes a massive difference to your stay good price in good location

Everything was what we wanted nothing was too difficult for them
Thank you

We had a very enjoyable stay, the staff are super friendly, helpful and efficient. Our double room was upgraded to an apartment, we had lots of space. Basic bathroom but didn't bother us too much. We liked the spa and pool, nice bar, serving good food.
4.2
Hotel was very nice, staff were very polite & attentive. Hotel a bit dated in places & food was "average" nothing great but certainly edible. Location for beaches & sailing club excellent which is why we booked it
4.2
I can't fault this hotel - from the friendliness of the staff to the comfortable bed, fabulous location and the freshness of the breakfast croissants. Every interaction I had with staff was positive which reflects on the management. I would definitely like to stay again.

Great location, few minutes from Alum chine beach also the lovely village of Westbourne I could see and hear the sea from my room nice bedding and thick clean towels. Very friendly helpful staff
4.2
We was in Bournemouth and looking at hotels, this was the only one had rooms for the night we was there, seriously shocked how misleading the pictures are. There is no fan or ac in room or shower, extremely small and you cant even walk around !! Hot night and cant even open the windows fully. Absolute nightmare, for the money i paid, could have slept better in the car with ac.
4.2
The Area facilities and distance walk to the beach was not to far, property parking was very tight as first come first get parking, but was not a big issue
4.2
Fantastic location with an amazing view of the bay from the breakfast room conservatory. Nice and quiet and the apartment was well appointed. Parking can be an issue but otherwise fantastic stay
4.2
The apartment room we got was very old with only warm drinkable tap water available. The ironing board was broken and the iron has stains on it. The hot breakfast wasn’t the best either and you’re money is better spent going to a cafe. For the price range (up there with the Hilton), I was very disappointed.
4.2
Slight concern about dogs in restaurant, when we were eating in the evening. Also not to happy about a couple who had three dogs sitting on the lounge settees. Especially when they took them outside to do their business, then brought them back to sit on the lounge settees. I dont think that is fair, to clients who have dressed nicely to want to sit where dogs have been. Can't fault the staff and service. Sorry to say we will not be returning.
