Nice stay in a repurposed postal building. Good amenities and location.

This hotel was very nice and walkable to many restaurants/beach/etc. only downfall was you had to park in a paid lot that was very full. Staff was great and we got excellent dinner recommendations.

This was a very nice quiet hotel very close to the quarter and many food options.

I had a wonderful stay

Friendly staff and great location. You can walk in to the centre of town. Wonderful buffet breakfast too. Only negatives - parking is a bit challenging and would suggest blackout curtains in the room. There was an outside light on all night which the current curtains didn't block out..

Staffs are very friendly from the reception and restaurant.
Old style wooden deco is really nice.
Highly recommended.

Nice old-fashioned hotel. The room was quiet but on the small side, but the location of the hotel was perfect. Close to the city centre and the beach, and the air of the hotel was nice.

Lovely clean hotel - the bed was extremely comfortable. Staff efficient and polite - would definitely book again.

The front desk staff was very helpful, friendly and professional, spoke very good English. We drove for hundreds of kilometers away and to be able to access our room and the free upgrade was an excellent service! We are very pleased. Our room was fresh, big & spotless with a small garden.
It well located, short walk to the beach, shops and restaurants.

Old basque style building just off the Main Street. Lovely detailing if this old building, and being redone.

Lovely hotel of character. Very close to the main shopping and eating area of the town . About ten minutes walk from the station. Immaculately clean. Our room was very comfortable. We had requested outside space and were given a room with a terrace, table and chairs . A real sun trap. The owners and their staff were very courteous and extremely helpful.

Excellent location right in town but away from main road. Easy walk to beach. Smallish room but comfortable, good shower. Only downside was that it was very hot during our stay & we were lucky to borrow a fan from reception or it would have been hard to sleep. But I doubt there are enough fans for all. Staff very pleasant & helpful. Fab breakfast.

We really enjoyed this slightly old fashioned hotel. Just off the main pedestrianised main street, it is well located for getting around the town.

We stayed at the hotel quite a few times many years ago and it was very old fashioned then. The exterior is still the same, but the rooms have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. The staff were friendly and helpful. For the price charged it was excellent value. When I visit St Jean de Luz again I shall most certainly stay at the Hotel de la Post.

Good location and hotel is almost finished renovations. Good value for money and away from the main drag but close enough to walk everywhere.

On our way to Madrid from a week in SW France, we spent 3 days in St Jean de Luz. My last visit there was approximately 40 years ago, when it was a sleepy fishing village. It is considerably more than that now, but the outstanding seafood restaurants are there (more of them), and the ambient is still there (hence the tsunami of tourists there now), and the Atlantic Ocean views and smell of the sea are still very appealing. Certainly, early May looks like a good time to visit. The small Grand Hotel de la Poste is well located at the north end of the town's main drag. The main drag is sufficiently busy that I consider it an advantage not to be quite on the very busy street. There is a garage that is convenient although not exactly close (several blocks worth of a pleasant walk). Room #5 was a very pleasant corner room with nice open windows and a fresh breeze; decor slightly Spartan but freshly painted and very clean. The bathroom was private and clean if slightly small ("old Europe"). Location made it a short walk to everywhere in town -- very convenient! The staff was attentive, pleasant, helpful. The lobby had great ambient, including an old true billiards (3 ball) table; I enjoyed an hour's worth at it -- not having played the game since college fraternity. Did not sample their breakfast (too many other places in town to enjoy). Look forward to visiting them again. The price was very right.
