It was ok. Super old. Lukewarm staff. Clean for how old it was. New carpet is a 100% necessity and maybe an option other than yogurt for “breakfast” would be nice.
Staff was friendly but didn’t seem too excited to be there.

There was a cat meowing and pawing at our door from 3:30 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. Very disturbing. Staff great! Beautiful old historic hotel. Bed just ok.

The front desk staff was rude and abusive when they did not know guests were within earshot, with particular focus on disparaging guests whom they deem LGBT+. This is disappointing, as Kirkwood Collection properties are otherwise wonderful, but being mistreated by staff makes it hard to give them business.

There was a hair on the pillow.

We had a lovely room with a bay window and partial view of the sea. Breakfast was simple and very good.

Lovely historic building which is in a very convenient location for Pacific grove and Monterey bay. Staff were polite and helpful, and the breakfast was a lovely addition.

Complimentary glass of wine in evening is pleasant. Morning breakfast parfait is a nice offering; bagels, cream cheese and small basic pastries constitute the rest of the breakfast pallet. Overall the property needs refreshing, old worn torn less-than-clean room carpets, paint chipped. We were asked if we wanted room service during the day between the two nights we stayed to which we answered yes please. When we arrived at our room midafternoon, our door was unlocked, towels were changed, but beds were unmade and garbage cans unemptied. We asked reception to have the service completed and then it was done later. We had left nothing valuable in the room, but the open door surprised us. Location is good, but overall the room was overpriced. Note: no mini fridges in rooms for perishables.

Charming old property, but breakfast seemed scarce. We came down in plenty of time and there were two unappealing mini pastries. The friendly person staffing the room seemed set on offering to make a parfait, but since my spouse is lactose intolerant that would not have worked. We would have liked a bagel or toast or something? Continental breakfast is not a high bar, but the hotel seemed not to reach this.

Enjoyed the location, how close to the beach it is (2 minute walk), and the safe location. I would have liked for a more accurate description of the breakfast when booking. It was a very light breakfast (pastries and yogurt) so it would’ve been nice to know that ahead of time. Staff was professional!

The staff were amazing! They made you feel like you were in a B&B. This is a Victorian style inn. If you are looking for a Hilton you won’t find it here, but if you are looking for a comfortable inn with a staff that bends over backwards to make sure your stay is comfortable, then you came to the right place! Restaurants are within walking distance as is Lovers Point Beach. We were here for a wedding and we stretched our visit to a vacation and would definitely stay here again! Thank you staff for making it a memorable stay!

Location is good. It is an old building but the fittings are cheap and of poor quality. The tap fell off the wall in the bath. Making the bath and shower unusable. The breakfast is very poor. Yoghurt, granola and fruit served in a pot and a couple of mini pastry options. No hot option and no variety. Cannot recommend this place at all.

We think that they should sink some money into cleaning up the place and getting better up to date plumbing and air conditioning. You can retain the historic charm and still have it clean and comfortable. It's just old and scruffy.

The home is beautiful inside and out. Loved the area, very quiet and close to many attractions.
One thing we would recommend, is having a small table in the room, and small fridge.
The two gentlemen that greeted us on Thursday evening were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and answered all our questions.
On Friday morning the young woman that checked us out, was not very friendly, and a little rude when I went to pick up the blue ice I left in the freezer of the facilities.
Other than that, we loved the place!

This place is rather small and the room was tiny. You could barely walk around the bed and the TV was super small. For the price, I would have expected more. The area is nice and you can walk to downtown and the beach easily.

Breakfast is not “free,” but incorporated in a $20 “resort fee”. Hotel is a bit worn but has character.

It’s so difficult to get any sleep at this hotel, the ceilings are not sound proofed so you can hear every footstep and conversation. In addition there is dance hall across the street that blasts music most of the day. We could not sleep half the night, so bring some earbuds if you’re staying on the first level. The carpets were awful and there was no way to control the temperature in the room. It was too costly for so many things to be wrong with it. The staff was friendly and helpful, and that was the saving grace.

We had a room with a living area and it had a futon, would have more inviting to watch tv and spend time if there were comfy chairs or couch

Very clean, warm and comfortable. Very close to excellent restaurants. Easy access to golf courses.

Loved the history, comfortable bed, afternoon cookies, morning coffee and parfait. Staff was very friendly!
The one negative was Saturday morning there was not hot water for shower!!

The night before we stayed in a Best Western and this was so much nicer, charming, and
delightful.
the man who checked us in was great. I would stay there again.

The Centrella Hotel is quaint, clean, and friendly. However, it is missing several amenities that most people are accustomed to. The 9.0 rating on Expedia should come with an asterisk. *There is no air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, window screens, nor coffee in the room. The flat panel tv is quite anmall (32”?) and if you want fresh air, you have to open the window and insert a portable screen that is stored in the armoir. With regard to the parking, unless you’re fortunate enough to secure one of the property’s 4 or 5 parking spots, you will need to rely on street parking.

Close to the beach. Great jumping off point for 27 mile drive and hwy 1. Spacious and cozy rooms. Decent breakfast, but should start earlier

Very special old building with fresh flowers on the table at breakfast, which made it very pleasant.

While there are only five parking slots, there’s plenty of street parking. At least when we were there!
The rooms are quiet and comfortable if small.
There’s no hot breakfast but the yoghurt parfait is excellent and the pastries fresh.
We would go back.

Wasn't a huge fan of this place - we went on a holiday weekend so we paid more than this place normally charges, it was hot out and there was no AC, it was a busy weekend and they only have 4 parking spots for 20 rooms so had to look for street parking which was not easy. They also had the audacity to charge a daily "facilities" fee which hotels.com claims they won't do.

Nice property that is very convenient for walking around. Parking lot is small, but there are plenty of street parking spaces.
10.0 / 10.0
It is a charming Victorian hotel about 135 years old. It is just a short walk to the beach and restaurants and shops. Sit and read a book or visit with other patrons in the cozy parlor and enjoy the fireplace and a glass of wine.

It was a warm, friendly atmosphere in a quaint and charming building. The staff were all so kind and welcoming and the rooms cozy and comfortable. We loved the public spaces, with a inviting fire in the lobby and outdoor seating and the extremely short walk to the coast path, AND to wonderful restaurants. Thank you for a delightful stay.
