very convenient location for me. helpful staff at reception.
basic but practical for me.

Clean but very small. Good for families with kids.

The provision of sufficient hygiene related products was found wanting - specifically soap, toilet paper. Only 1 roll of toilet paper and 1 soap bar at the sink. It was expected we buy the rest...management was miserly with providing garbage bags as well when we went to the reception to ask for them. While an apart hotel can be exoected to have slightly lesser amenties than a hotel, this experience was a stark contrast to our apart hotel stay in Marseilles with anptjer company.

Met our needs but not in main town area

Well-equipped, air-conditioned room including fully functional kitchenette equipped with most household appliances. Location is fantastic with a few min walking distance to local bakery, several grocery stores, and the city centre with shops and restaurants. Walking distance to different types of beaches (larger pebbles at plage du borrigo, smaller more comfortable pebbles at plage des sablettes). Menton is a calm and very plesant town located just in between Monaco and Italy, both accessable within 20min by car. We totally fell in love with both the town and the Pierre & Vacances Résidence Les Citronniers - we will for sure come back!

Strange bed but overall good.

The 80 hotel residences are directly in the center of Menton.
Minimum stay is two days.
The pricing is excellent, especially if you like to have a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, stove, fridge, dish washer, plates etc.
The units have balconies.
The concierge staff which is available until 7pm is very kind and helpful.
Standard Wifi is free and High-Speed Wifi is affordable.
Depending on pricing of other hotel options and your budget, it is certainly the best option if you like a kitchen. When you book via www.hotels.com, you get your extra free night with every 10 nights booked.

Due to numerous stays in several hotels in Menton over the years, the Pierre & Vances Residence Les Citronniers has several advantages:
1. Great value for money and one of the best priced hotels.
2. Very nice and helpful concierge team.
3. Quiet rooms options and modern windows reduces any external sounds.
4. The kitchen has a microwave and kitchen stove.
5. Excellent location in the middle of Menton and therefore 1 to 3 minute walk to the most important daily stores you might want to see.
6. 80 units offers availability with the risk of all units being reserved on certain days, giving flexibility in terms of stay and extensions.
7. Balcony
8. Great air condition/heating.
9. Wash and dryer room with fair prices and lower pricing than public / other options.
10. The standard free Wifi is sufficient for standard emails, websites, but not for IP and Skype calls, larger emails and downloads. A high-speed internet option has different pricing plans as e.g. EUR 15 for 3 days, ..., EUR 45 for 1 month.

Very clean and more spacious than photos indicate. Our children loved the bunk beds. It was not a long stay so we did not mind the foldout bed. Would have been nice to have a bathroom hair dryer. Overall happy with the room. It's also close to the beach and the older part of the city.

The reviewers who don't like this place are generally those who don't understand what a Pierre et Vacance style of residence is all about. Once you understand what to expect, you'll see that this place is great, especially for the price.
Read all the information -- it states clearly when the front desk is open and when you can check in. Time your arrival accordingly.
Also know that there is not daily housekeeping. You are basically renting a little apartment -- so cleaning it is up to you. Yes, that means you have to take out your own trash and buy your own toilet paper (after the first roll). And you'll have to make your own bed.
But the advantages are many! Having a kitchenette is wonderful, as there are just so many great little shops and markets to buy fresh food to make simple meals. A supermarket is about 2 minutes away, with other options in the area. And don't miss the daily Marche--the fresh market close to the sea. You won't go hungry in Menton!
You're also about 5 minutes from the beach.
If you want a lavish room to Instagram and brag about all over social media, this won't be your first choice. But if you want a fine, clean, simple place where you can cook and live like a local, this can't be beat for the price! It's a great value.
Enjoy!

Situation excellent. Pleasant. Didn't like very short reception hours and receptionist didn't recognise Expedia booking, said it didn't mean anything to them !

The room offered everything we needed during our stay in Menton. Although small, with the help of the fold away bed there was plenty of room whether dining in, or in bedroom configuration. The bed was also of a good standard with a memory foam type mattress.

Good self cathering apartment. A bit old fashioned but with all the amenities. Really central and close to the grocery store. The only thing is they need to buy new pillows. They were so old and flat, I did not feel safe to put my head on them. Bring your own!

My main problem with Pierre et Vacances, Les Citronniers, Menton, was with trying to find out how I could gain entry out of the official check-in times. Check in closed at 7pm and I could not arrive till after 11pm. I phoned 3 times in advance; twice Les Citronniers hung up and the third was unanswered. There was no facility on-site to contact Pierre et Vacances and allow them to reply to my problem that I could find. Fortunately I had a friend in Menton who kindly visited Les Citronniers on my behalf and was given codes for the door and key safe, Staff promised I would be emailed with the room number before I arrived. Didn't happen. So my friend went back for me on my arrival day and was given the info which she sent to me. I am a woman, over 65 and travelling alone. if I hadn't had a friend on the ground, so to speak, I don't know what I would have done. In the end it all went smoothly. My actual experience with the staff in Les Citronniers was proactive and pleasant. BUT, shape up P et V!!

The studio was fine for one person but as others have commented, it is a bit small for two and it would be necessary to put the bad away each day. My studio was in a quiet position round the back. I could not get the tv to work and was unable to report this as I had to leave before reception opened each day. I was unaware that the wifi was only included for 3 days so I had to pay €8 for another 3 days. On two evenings I returned to find the main door open so anyone could wander in ( guests are asked to close the door as a security measure and a code is provided) . I would have preferred the studio door to have safety chain or similar. Being walking distance from the railway station, buses, two supermarkets and the seafront makes this a great location.

The studio had all you need and was well planned out but bare bones and not too comfortable. Still, fine for a couple of days. The room was clean but the hallway showed age and a lot of use. The women at reception were both so nice and helpful. They really were outstanding. The reception hours were limited but they were very welcoming. One lady brought an alarm clock from home because I had forgotten my phone and needed to get up early for the train.

This was a problem with our booking, we rang through to find out about check in times, unfortunatley we can not speak French, we were unable to resolve this over the phone, we arrived with two children at 7pm, to find there was no room for us. My husband managed to work it out with a call centre and got an emergency room. The room had old food/drinks in the fridge, we had to make our own beds, not the best start. The hotel had a musty smell all through the hall way and decor in hotel was dated. Hotel needs urgent upgrades!

Pleasantly surprised with the quality. On arrival we had to leave our luggage and return later after 15 00 hrs when the room was ready. We had a family room though there was only two of us. Room well equipped. Our stay was for ten days. My only objection was that you had to stay 14 days for your bedding to be changed which I thought was too long. At no time during our stay was our room cleaned. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would use these apartments again in the future

This is a basic, but extremely good value, comfortable and brilliantly situated in the town centre, close to all amenities. We had a fabulous week in Menton and the accommodation was perfect for two people. Towels and sheets were provided and we got more pillows on request. we had a really good week's stay and would definitely go again and recommend it to others.

This studio was an excellent place in which to spend a few days in the heart of Menton. You need to be prepared to make up your own bed, fold away your bed during the day, bit if you don't mind doing these things then this is ideal for you. Great little balcony overlooking a neighbouring garden, very quiet. Good shops; bakeries, grocers etc all around. The simple cooking facilities mean you can choose whether to eat out or dine at home. With two good local markets it is a delight to do some self-catering. We have enjoyed this experience and would hope to repeat it in the future.

The hotel room was clean and reasonably comfortable (if you don't mind a futon instead of a traditional bed - we're young and didn't mind, but we certainly were expecting a real bed...) for a budget hotel. The location was also quite ideal for Menton's annual lemon festival; however, the good aspects of the hotel end there. We arrived around 1 or 2pm on Sunday, and the front desk was closed. Fortunately, a key was left in our room, but the room had no towels! The front desk was only open from 10am-noon on the weekends and 10am-noon and 4-7pm during the week. Because we were using the hotel as a jumping off point for other destination in the Riviera, we were never able to contact the front desk to obtain towels without changing our vacation plans (which we weren't willing to do!). Once, we caught the woman at the front desk on her way out and asked her to leave some towels in the room - she wrote down our name and room number but failed to provide and towels. We made do by getting all tourist information from a luxury hotel a bit up the road and using old clothes as towels. It certainly wasn't an ideal arrangement, but we made do. We weren't going to let a bad hotel ruin our trip! I would certainly suggest to other travelers to stay elsewhere - there are plenty of comparable hotels in Menton that are similarly priced that are actually staffed. Stay there!
