The hotel staff were very friendly but the hotel itself was not that great. Definitely make sure you have a car or you’ll have to climb mountains to go anywhere. Definitely don’t book the studio room- it isn’t very clean and it isn’t in a good location.

Villa was perfect. Staff very friendly. Dinner was however unfortunately overpriced goven the quality and proportion of servings.

Stayed here with my boyfriend, very quiet and peaceful property with stunning views of the ocean and forest, not super far from the popular activities, and close by to coco beach town center. Restaurant food and staff was wonderful!!

Beside the bugs everything else was great ! We will definitely come back again. The best part was the private beach and the reef with the exotic fish (left side of beach)

A very beautiful and secluded resort just off of the Ocotal Beach area. A short drive from Playa Coco that includes beautiful black sand beaches. The villa was spacious and had lovely views of the ocean.
If you have a car, it is an ideal stop as you can access other restaurants nearby, like father rooster, and others in coco.
The restaurant at the hotel was also very tasty, and the staff was very friendly.

We had the most beautiful view from our room. I loved that every space was an individual cottage, so there was no “hotel” noise from other guests. The beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

This property is in a very nice quite cove with stunning views and gorgeous plantings. Very nice property with onsite dinning. Its a ten to fifteen minute trip into town for dinning alternatives.

It was our first time staying at this resort. The home/property that we resided in during our visit was nice and well maintained. The home was very comfortable and surroundings was quiet. The resort itself was clean, safe and well maintained. The resort staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The resort restaurant was very good and had many food/drink options. We would definitely like to come to this resort again.

Restaurant was really good. Fresh seafood was delicious.
Beach was small, not clear water, dirty ocean water, Room 41 was small, outdated, bugs, scorpions in the room, they did spray for them when we told them. No parking at the cabin so we had to park in another unoccupied spot accross the street. Shower was dirty when we arrived. Would i stay there again? Probably not. Would i recommend to friends, no.

This is a lovely little resort. Clean, well maintained and super friendly staff. We stayed in villa 20 which was perfect for the two of us. Beautiful grassy area and nice little patio with a slight view of the ocean. Easy walk to the restaurant and beach although coming back is uphill. Pools were clean and the small bay was quiet. My only complaint ( if you can call it that) is the room amenities. No maid service, no coffee or any condiments needed to cook any food you may have brought. Not a huge deal but considering the restaurant does not open til noon, at least coffee should be provided. There are no ice machines or any typical amenities you might expect. For us, these were minor issues. We absolutely would stay here again!

Check in staff- amazing and accommodating.
Prices at restaurant were a bit high.
Great value.

Staff, amenities and seclusion just far enough away from everything but close enough for all the family to enjoy.

Lovely views; nice accommodations but long walk to beach.

Beautiful beach that is not crowded, sits on a bay that makes for swimming without strong waves. Lots of wildlife...we saw puffer fish, ray, dolphins, whale, racoons, iguanas and of course, the local blue jay.Onsite restaurant is great, staff was friendly and helpful.

A friend and I stayed at this resort for one week and every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. From the minute we arrived, we were met with nothing short of impeccable service. Every employee at this resort went above the highest bar to ensure we had the best experience as first-time visitors of Costa Rica. The servers at the restaurant did an amazing job in making us feel welcomed during each visit and went out of their way to give us special experiences, such as preparing a table for us along their beachfront. Abi, the concierge, also went above and beyond to ensure all of our itinerary-related needs were taken care of and immediately addressed any concerns we had in the most efficient, professional matter. The conditions of the resort, the amenities (i.e, the pool at the top of the resort), and the views we had from our two-person villa were also amazing. Overall, I highly recommend BPV to anyone who wants to visit Costa Rica and know this will be my go-to place when I come back.

The property is very well kept. The staff and that is all the staff were wonderful and extremely helpful.
The resort and location is great if you want to disconnect and just chill and relax. I was glad that I did read other reviews before going down. I was not planning to rent a car but we are very glad we did. You need a car if you want to do anything like site seeing and to eat at any other restaurants other than the one at the resort. The food at the resort was fantastic along with the drinks but it can be expensive. We stayed there a week and would have be bored if we did not rent a car.
The unit we stayed in was fantastic and unbelievably clean. Had a great full equipped kitchen. What we did to help ourselves was we visited the marcados/ grocery stores and bought groceries to cook at the house and save money

Loved everything except fighting the bugs in the room but that’s expected. Only suggestion is to have more desserts options.

Property was excellent in general, construction for 3 days straight next door not so much. Intermittent hot water supply an issue.
4.0
Good location, great restaurant. The pools are perfect. The unit was a little dated. A lot of little details just weren’t quite right. For example there was a coffee maker and filters, but no coffee. And, no place on the property that served coffee in the morning anywhere. But overall very comfortable, nice staff, great views.

This is the most beautiful location we’ve ever visited. It was quiet and private- with plenty of birds and stunning ocean views.
2.5
Incredible place! It is off the beaten track which is what we wanted - no crowds- but once we arrived it was an oasis of beautiful homes tucked into a cove with its own private beach. We were often the only ones on the beach during the week of our stay. Plus an amazing restaurant right there, as well as pools, beachside massages, and a very welcoming and helpful staff. They made our stay so easy and enjoyable, and even arranged a sailing tour which picked us up right at the private beach! There is 24 hour security as well. Would recommend a car so you can also explore the area and get groceries etc. fantastic and lovely place, we plan return!!!

Views to die for. Multiple pools, even one near the upper units. Lots of howler monkeys on site. Friendly guests to share experiences.

Excelente! Everything was amazing! Excellent customer care, the food was delicious, the villa was beyond anything we could ask for. Our new favorite place! Thank you

Beatiful location, well stocked unit, super helpful staff, great restaurant. Would be great if breakfast was available. 15min ride to town can be tough without your own car.
2.5
Excellent service, beautiful location, incredible on site restaurant. Only negative is that it is a bit secluded and one cannot walk into town.
2.5
A long drive from San Jose Airport and an easy check in and arrival at the Bahia Pez Vela! Dramatic views and well appointed rooms with all the cooking untensils you could ever need! Great TV amd WiFi when we used it amd a fun walk down to the beautiful well kept beach and pool! We will definitely stay again.

The studio has an amazing view and the small private pool makes a huge highlight. Full privacy and silence, perfect for a weekend getaway.

Amazing and private waterfront property with amazing dining experience.

This was a beautiful enclave in Ocotal That was very charming with amazing staff. The villas were very well appointed and the views were fantastic. The extra bonus was the wildlife that would visit in the backyard during the day. The kids loved it and as adults we loved the privacy.

More then enough room.
Check in very easy
Very Safe
Great Food
I don't review often. I almost would rather not tell anyone how great it is there.
Only recommendation is you have a car.

We couldn't be more pleased with Pez Vela. We were nervous about not choosing an all-inclusive but once there, it was amazing. Our family was able to spread out and not feel on top of each other as in a hotel room. We were in Villa #15 and I had wanted to be beachfront. We found out once there that those villas are not available through Expedia. It didn't matter. We LOVED where we were located. It was quiet and beautiful and the kitchen was fully stocked with supplies. Cesar in Reception was amazing in helping us obtain a rental car and book excursions. Cesar and Francisco in Picante' Restaurant were just as amazing in taking care of us and making us feel pampered. The food is amazing!!

Loved this place. Coco Beach is about 15 min by car away. Great place. Resturant onsite. Villa was large with full kitchen. Great place.

Very nice place. Room was clean and staff was very helpful and friendly

Great people, great villa, everything was so wonderful. We was living in oceanfront Villa, with the swimming pool.
It is not just ordinary stay in resorts room and same kind food everyday, no, here we was making our menus.
It was to short, soon we will go back.

Very quite resort with a pool and a small restaurant. The hotel services are limited. There are about 20 properties (villas) each indipendent and with their own kitchen/washing/dryer etc. The restaurant is not open for breakfast. The location is super, right on the beach with superb view. All services, other than the restaurant inside the resort, are in the town of Coco beach, 2 miles away. So you definitively need a car. The villas are recent and well maintained.

Great staff, excellent food in the restaurant. Lovely grounds.

We loved the quiet and relaxing location after spending a week in busy touristy Tamarindo. We saw howler monkeys right outside our villa and in town while shopping. Our first villa was high up on a hill and had fantastic views but we didn't have a car so we moved to a villa that was lower and closer to the beach and pools. We had to cab it into town which cost ten dollars one way. I would rent a car next time if I stayed here again because nothing is within walking distance if you want to go into town to eat and shop. We went fishing which was fantastic we saw sea turtles, dolphins and whales! We also booked a trip to Nicaragua and saw an active volcano which was great!
2.5
Great place for a family vacation, we stayed for 10 days and love it. Super quiet spot, the villas are great and well equipped. I am going back.
