Stayed here for a gig at Swansea arena. Highly recommend! Wonderful place. Accommodated partners Hyperacusis by putting us in a room away from the highstreet. Lovely room, very comfortable bed! Lovely housekeeping and fantastic staff. Beautiful and clean! Loved the art deco building. Will be back!!

Great place to stay in Swansea always first choice

Great hotel right next to the train station. Room small but no problem for 1 night.
Staff really friendly and helpful. Will stay again.

Clean, nice room. Did not like lack of fresh air, no openable windows. Hot and airless at night, air con too noisy to leave on at night.

Service was a mixed bag. Some of the front of house staff made you feel like you were disturbing them, the lady that checked me in, however, was lovely. The other woman was not exactly welcoming.
Service in the bar area was pretty good, food was nice. Room was very clean, fairly compact but had an awful view.
Had requested a quiet room but didn't drop lucky on that score with noise. Housekeeping were out and about knocking doors early on a Saturday morning so no chance of a lie in!
All in all, it's convenient for the station and the rooms are clean, but not sure I'd stay again

Good points:
Staff are homely and friendly, bar is lively in the evening (Saturday) and breakfasts are brilliant. Great location, right next to the station, handy town centre car park just £5 for 24hrs. Walking distance to town centre/pubs/eateries etc.
No real bad points but Immediate area is a bit lairy in the evening and hotel looks scruffy from the outside and odd that delivered goods are left in public areas. Layout is odd also with the kitchen remote from the dining area and food carried through the reception lobby.
Our room was 'odd' too, triangular shape with an en-suite but the bath was in the bedroom! Wonky toilet roll holder, annoying dripping ballcock in the cistern and no sockets by the bed (for phone/ipad charging).
All that said, a pleasant stay and just a 10 minute Uber to the Swansea Arena (cost about £14).

Airconditioner is not workable but without advance notice, and need to change from a twin beds room to a double room, but the double room is quite small and no refrigerator.

The rooms need some attention to detail, such as touching up paint, tatty chair in the room. Overall it’s a nice hotel but it doesn’t live up to the photos online. The food and bar area was lovely.

Hotel is in a great location, next to the train station and easy walking distance into town

The air conditioner was very noisy, had to turn that off to sleep. But apart from that the room was in good condition.
Very good location, less than a minute walk to Swansea station. Very friendly and helpful staff!

Good hotel ,perfect position for central Swansea ,shopping and arena.
Opposite the railway station ,paid car parking next door to the hotel.
A little noisy on a night due to location, room walls very thin ,could hear guests in next room.

We were delayed being checked in as our room hadn't been cleaned from pervious occupants. Despite the fact we didn't arrive until 15.30 and you were qble to check in from 15.00. Thr room was very basic with no air conditioning. The mini fridge wasn't in place correctly and the bedside table also wasn't in correct positioning either. Due to no air conditioning we had to have out window open and our room right outside the 4 way traffic light system. Avoid room 219 at all costs!!! The noise was horrendous. On further inspection we pulled back the duvet to find dried blood on our sheet. The manager didn't seem to apologetic but the young lady (Fiona) who changed our bed sheet was very embarrassed by the situation and very apoplectic about it. Despite all of this the hotel was ok and the food was lovely hence why we have given it a 3 star. I would not go back to this part again as it needs alot of money put into that part of the town as it is completely run down.

Disappointing stay. Booked classic double room - looks nothing like the pictures on the website. Very old fashioned and basic furniture that didn’t really fit together. Had room on first floor above the function room - noisy both evenings until 11pm due to weddings - no other options as when we checked in this was the “last room
available”. If we’d known what the rooms were actually like we’d have stayed elsewhere.

Excellent short break particularly for those arriving by train.

Lovely staff definitely going to stay again

Lovely hotel and room. The room had a bath in bedroom, the would accommodate 2 people.
Plenty of various covers and water in the fridge.
Offsite parking near the hotel, which is cheap. A few disabled spots at the side of the hotel.

Good client attention however the building and facilities are old. In some areas it smelled as pipes

Lovely Hotel but could not open the Room Window and for just that reason would not stay again. Reception not manned. Apart from that very pleasant

We tried to stay there. It stinks & there’s no a/c. Very stuffy. We had to leave. Appears to be an old style heritage hotel. Small lift. Hallways are narrow. Up and down several short stairways. Not recommended

Turned up at 14:35 after travelling a few hours to be told by receptionist that we couldn’t book in till15:00. She didn’t take our names to check if room was ready just to come back at 15:00 hrs. Not what we wanted to hear! Other than that the room was fine, breakfast good and breakfast staff very helpful.

Nice room, comfortable bed and a good welcome. Definitely happy to return.

Great location. Helpful and accommodating staff. Comfy bed and bedding… excellent shower. Excellent location…. Steps from train station…. Easy walk to bus station and many restaurants. Only negative…. Found the scented air in hallways and common areas overwhelming.

I only stayed one night but it was a very comfortable one and the staff were very helpful. The venue is next to the station, so very convenient from that perspective.

We absolutely loved our stay. We stayed in a balcony room so I could wave to my daughter in Seren that towers above The Grand. We arrived Wednesday and had the roast lunch which was the best I have had.
We have stayed in our room before 403 which is spacious and cosy. Wow factor my husband had had it decorated with helium balloons, a banner and real rose petals for my birthday. Chocolate strawberries and Prosecco was on a table with a note from the hotel. Well worth the money paid. He was very pleased with the result.
The hotel is old and somethings are not perfect and the standard of a more expensive hotel - dent in bathroom door that has been filled in, bed that is as soft as a cloud but rolls you towards the middle. But I prefer an older hotel with character and it was spotless, warm and welcoming.
The chef in the kitchen is superb. The presentation of the food is excellent and I have never had such choice for breakfast. You can have a continental breakfast with meats, cheeses and all types of fresh fruit and berries and pastries. Then have a full cooked breakfast, avacado or salmon dishes. Hence the weight gain.
The car park is right next door - £5 a day.
Yes the area looks a bit scruffy and there are some characters about but it is life and interesting.
All the staff were so helpful, there is no other hotel we will use in Swansea. All our memories are happy. Take me back now.
