If ever in doubt - book this hotel. You arrive in the 1920’s deep charm and you just keep feeling wowed.. - the most beautiful hotel, stylish room, amazing garden, pool, view and not least outstanding restaurant. Breakfast is in top and even with Cava 🍾
Staff is very serviceminded and we will love to return.

Beautiful historic hotel with absolutely stunning views over Mount Teide on one side, and the beach / mountains on the other. The old furniture was very in-keeping with the architecture and it had been beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast and dinner were brilliant, though the same breakfast for a whole week got a bit repetitive - would have been nice to have had some more options or menu rotations. Dinner was amazing though. The food was lovely, and specials every day too. We ate there about 3 evenings and ate in town other evenings, and the hotel food was definitely some the best we ate on the whole holiday. The pool side is beautiful, and I had a massage one day, which was lovely (needs to be booked in advance). The hotel gardens were very pretty, with many different plants and cacti 🌵, and were very pleasant to stroll through. The location of the hotel right at the top of the cliff was fine for us, and a very good means of exercise to walk down to town and back up (phew! Leg muscles!) but for anyone with mobility issues, it might be a challenge. The Parador was a good base in San Sebastián to explore the rest of the island (the bus station is a 15 mins walk) and we’re glad we stayed there.

Lovely room with a view of the harbour. Extensive grounds. The hotel felt quite dark and oppressive. The restaurant served the worst food we had on the island . When we complained it was shrugged off with no acknowledgement.
Very disappointed as our first stay in our parador but very much overpriced and underrated.
Overpriced

The place is a bit worn down from its glory days, but still solid. The views are spectacular. Nice garden. Morning buffet 3,5 on this price range.

Wonderfull location overlooking the sea. Lovely room with a big bathroom and big bathtub. No kettle but we asked and one was brought to the room with cups & teabags. Booked a standard room but was given one with a patio door onto a small walkway and overlooking the sea and port. Nice outdoor pool. Lovely gardens and well looked after. A short walk to town and uphill on the way back! Had dinner in the restaurant which was very nice.

Just such a beautiful place, feels like Colón just passed by... Architecture and deco.... And the green is precious.
For the comfort and service it's decent, nothing spectacular.

Great views and beautiful garden. Huge bedrooms and bathrooms. Furniture a little tired and not enough power sockets in the right places for cha4ging phones and the like

A wonderful six days at La Gomera Parador. Everything we hoped for, lovely staff. A real pleasure to stay there. If you read any negative comments about the parking, just not true - was easy-peasy.
Location, high up (about 70 mts) on a promontory, overlooking the port and the town was great - but the steepness did mean a 10 minute walk down the switchback hill and a 15 minute return uphill walk.
Breakfast thoroughly recommended as is the swimming pool

What a fantastic Parador!
Perched high on the cliffs above San Sebastian, this Parador descreetly commands a stonking view on 3 sides of the hotel, the swimming pool being on the edge. Fabulous.
The staff were all lovely, attentive and efficient. The rooms were extremely clean with lots of sanitisation seals on high touch objects (remove control, clothes hangers etc).
The decor of the place is really charming and tasteful. Lots of little books, crannies and Salons to loose yourself in a good book. Very romantic to boot.
So don't hesitate.

First I'm grateful for the hotel for their generosity.
The ferry from Tenerife to La Gomera was canceled the evening of my departure. I arrived a day late and they offered to charge a day less or stay an extra day.
I stayed the extra day and had fun.
The room is nice. The bathroom is renovated, so it's really clean, white and nicely equipped.
The staff is very friendly both at the reception and in the restaurant/bar.
Breakfast was OK, not more.
The garden is beautiful and the pool really inviting.
Overall it was a nice stay.

Warm friendly welcome from reception staff one of whom took us to our room and explained things about the Parador as we walked along. Lovely room with private small patio area outside overlooking the sea. Air conditioning and comfortable bed in a beautiful bedroom.

The hotel is an excellent converted old Spanish monastery/farmhouse and retains lots of beautiful old features - in many ways feels like youre staying in a castle! Secluded location with a quiet pool overlooking San Sebastian harbour and beach. Perfect place for a couples getaway if you make the trip to La Gomera. All staff are super friendly and happy to help you enjoy your time in La Gomera - though you almost dont even want to leave the hotel!

We had a wonderful 3 nights at the parador, it was beautiful, very calm and restful. Staff were friendly and made our stay comfortable , the swimming pool was fabulous and was fairly quiete during our stay, there are many areas where you can sit peacefully and away from others if that is what you are looking for

As other guests have mentioned, the hotels position high above San Sebastian could be a problem for those not wanting to walk the steep hills above the town. The staff although attentive, needed prompting to provide information concerning the hotel's amenities and the islands attractions. The hotel itself provided a calm and restful environment, which was enhanced by the tasteful decoration, courtyards and beautiful sub tropical gardens with wonderful views. The Standard Double we booked was larger than we had expected and the furnishings, bed and bedding were more than adequate. The bath screen however, was a little tired but overall the hotel and room was very good indeed.

The hotel could be a fabulous gem of a place , its perched on top of a cliff overlooking the bay and has a stunning garden. This is a large and under used property with big public rooms and it felt a little like staying in a museum. But its let down by the limited number of staff on duty at any one time and the quality of the service they provided, irritating during check in, in the hotel bar and service in the restaurant. Internet was free but only available within short range of reception. Food at breakfast was very good but the evening meal could be best described as adequate.

We loved the atmosphere of the Parador - relaxed, quiet, understated - wonderful shady gardens and inner courtyards with wonderful old trees - especially the Dragon Tree. We hired a car for a couple of days and toured the island - San Sebastan is a good place to begin a tour. The town has a good night time feel with locals enjoying the evenings. The harbour which can be watched from the terrace of the Parador is fascinating. We would go back again.

Hard to beat this for a really relaxing location with beautiful views of the sea and harbour.

We stayed here from 18th to 21st April 2015 and loved the place. Great views and especially lovely gardens. Room was very nice and had large bathroom. Very friendly staff and food was very good. For me only negative point was pool was not heated so too cold in April, but others were using it. We will be coming back to this hotel.

This is abeautifully situated hotel, on a cliff top overlooking the sea and harbour, set amidst well kept botanical gardens, with a pool by a bar, excellent common rooms and other facilities.

The building, the furniture and the gardens are wonderful. The view from the grounds is excellent. It was an interesting place to stay for a night. There were a few things which could have been better. The staff were not very friendly and seemed to be rushed, even though there were very few guests in the hotel. It was disappointing that the dinner was later than we expected because another function over-ran. The service then proceeded at break-neck speed with the main course arriving immediately the starter was finished and the plates of one person taken away before the other one had finished eating, giving the impression we were taking too long over dinner. Not a pleasant experience. As far as the pool is concerned, the rule that the pool is only for residents was not adhered to, and a dozen noisy children arrived, jumping in the pool and shouting loudly, with only one adult accompanying them. Moreover, the sheets on the bed needed to be ironed to a higher standard. Overall, disappointing.

my wife and I went for trip in the first week of January and it wasn't too busy so was very peaceful. Even though it feels like a small hotel it does have a lot of rooms so I imagine it's less peaceful during peak periods. The grounds are extensive and lovely, the food in the restaurant was very good. I would go again.

The best hotel that we stayed at during our visit to the Canaries. Overlooking the town of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it is still easy to access the centre of town via a public walk-way that winds its way up the hillside. Gardens to get lost in which provide a lovely and relaxing atmosphere. Great views overlooking the town, sea and the surrounding hills; excellent views of Tenerife. Our room was comfortable although were had hoped to finally have a double bed! Excellent value for money and a great place to stay in when visiting La Gomera; we will definitely return and spend more time here.

Only one night waiting for ferry. If known how nice it was would have stayed several days. Seldom take pictures of hotels, but pool, gardens, personal courtyard and views are amazing

Really beautiful hotel, set in a gorgeous cliff top spot overlooking the sea. Well kept and lovely gardens with lots of secret spots and quiet green courtyards to sit in listening to the palm trees and the waves beneath. Friendly unobtrusive and relaxed staff. We couldn't afford to eat in the restaurant but for once, so not sure what the breakfasts are like, but had did have one great meal on one of our evenings and it was delicious and perfectly cooked.
Lovely swimming pool and pool bar.

A wonderful hotel, not particularly helpful for getting the ferry in the morning, but in all other respects a brilliant place
