I was not able to make it due to illness, but you would not allow me to cancel

Not happy, dbl charged, 15$ a night to park in the hotel parking lot! Had a King bed, another family member decided to come, changed room to dbl bed. That is considered an upgrade, extra 20$ a night. Was told the overcharge would be removed upon check out, didn’t happen. Oh,btw, we checked out a day early

We had a wonderful experience here. I would recommend it to any family or couple visiting Savannah. We were in walking distance of everything and the hotel itself was extremely clean, updated, and a wonderful staff.

My husband and I booked a king-bed room for one night. The idea and concept of the Thunderbird is cool. I love the vintage colors and feel; however, this hotel was recently renovated just a few years back and should be in a little better shape than it is. There are things like spiderwebbish/dead bugs in the nook of the top of the wall and the ceiling. The bottom of the bathroom door looked a little dry-rotted. A stray hair here and there wasn’t my fav. The AC in the room works, but it doesn’t get super cold. I slept with no covers on. Street noise was there. We brought a sound machine with us, so that helped, but it was still there. There are no curtains on the windows, so the glow of the sidewalk light shines in (even with blinds closed). It’s like a nightlight. I never felt unsafe. You do have to pay to park, which I feel should’ve been built into the price of the stay. The bed was super soft, so if that’s your preference, you’ll love it. You have free coffee and donuts from Baker’s Pride (yum) in the morning. Overall, the stay was okay. It was cleanish. The noise was loudish. The bed was soft. Hope this helps.

Everything was great except rooms are noisy, but totally worth the price!

Great and retro styled hotel with brilliant staff at in Savannah. Within easy walking distance of everything you could want and round the corner from some of Savannah’s best restaurants. Loved the music, style and super friendly staff. Only issue was our keycard reader, which consistently didn’t work and caused us some inconvenience, meaning we had to often ask for staff and cleaners to help us get in our room. This really does need to be sorted as made coming and going from the hotel quite stressful!

Cool vibe, but needs some updating especially bathrooms.

Clean room and comfortable air conditioning! Didn’t feel like I was about to freeze while making sure the outside heat stayed outside. The location in perfect, 15 min wait all to river street! The beds were very comfortable.

Great find, very comfortable stay, easy parking $15 and convenient walk to riverfront. Great donuts for breakfast

Easy check-in, excellent communication prior to and during our stay and the room was very clean. Loved the retro vibe, the decor and the free coffee, lemonade, popcorn and donuts. However, had difficulty getting the card to unlock the door every time and the bathroom fan had no on/off switch and ran continuously when the door was open. Not enough to prevent us from staying again, but if addressed would certainly improve the venue.

The service was impeccable, every person at the counter during our stay was kind, helpful and very friendly. However the hotel overall needs some work, or facelift. The water pressure or lack of, five pillows is always great but these were flat pillows, the beds aren’t horrible but could be better, no black out curtains, and the entry door has a gap at the bottom. Nothing too big but beds/pillows, water pressure and blackout curtains are like the most common things that every hotel focuses on. I think if you’re under 30 this hotel is a hit, older than that pay a little extra and stay down the street. Bonus is the free donuts, popcorn and walkable distance!

Good location with close proximity to downtown Savannah. It’s just that by nature it’s of being close to the road it is a little loud. The parking was pretty crowded too. Staff are great though

We had a really nice stay at the Thunderbird Inn! My girlfriend and I and our dog stayed here for 2 nights while we stopped in Savannah. Every staff member we talked to was super nice and friendly and they were great communicaters as they texted before our stay asking if we needed anything and how they can help. They greeted us everytime we passed through the lobby as well!
The hotel is a cool retro style and situated in a good location within walking distance of most everything you’ll want to see. It was definitely more affordable than most everything else in downtown Savannah. They had delicious donuts every morning as well and coffee and juices. The room was comfy and we both slept really well both nights. We highly recommend and would stay again!

Very unique! They totally undersell the donuts in the morning as they are fresh and amazing! Staff are very nice and knowledgeable about the area! Would stay here again!

I stay at The Thunderbird whenever I visit Savannah. The location is perfect. Everything is always great, but it could use a few renovations. It's also located right on a main roadway, so it gets very noisy in the mornings. I recommend bringing earplugs if you want to sleep in. The donuts they have for breakfast are excellent!

We loved the Thunderbird Inn! We went for my birthday weekend and it was just what we needed to crash in between outings.

Place was remodeled once upon a time. Not very good hotel for the pricey they charge.
The photos are not representative of the actual room size. It has a lot of road noise from traffic. The dog area gate is not in good repair. Not dirty but not clean either.

I was disappointed in not being aware of reserving parking. I was told it was on the website, but I only saw that "On-site parking was available for $15/night". When we got there, no parking was available.
We were told we had to reserve ahead of time and try to park on the street or look for a garage. This should be in bold on the website to reserve ahead. Also, note no elevator if you stay on the 2nd level.
The room smelled clean, and the sheets were, so that's a positive. However, the sink had whiskers in it from the previous tenants. So, I needed to clean the entire sink area on my own. The walls in the whole space and baseboard need painting, and the caulking in the bathroom area needs to be replaced. I also found the road traffic to be loud. Overall, I was disappointed.

Awesome retro hotel! Room was cleaner than more expensive national chain hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our vehicle could stay till 3 in the parking lot even though we checked out at 11.

Generally I enjoyed staying at the thunderbird, small but cute, good location, also front office person was great but the rooms floor was dirty, not cleaned properly, also cable and WiFi equipment was just laying on ground under tv… not too appealing.

Such a cute hotel. Even left a Moonpie on my pillow and had RC cola in the room. Very comfortable bed and really a nice and clean room. Which is hard to find nowadays.

I very much enjoyed my stay. It's an older hotel and just celebrated a 60 year birthday. It's not your typical luxury modern hotel but for me the price was right. It also is in close proximity to everything you need. The staff was GREAT! It was CLEAN.

Good property if you want a more budget-friendly stay. Pet-friendly with parking, across from transit center, but close enough to walk to attractions or to nearby bus/Trolley stops. Good value for where and what it is. I would suggest they invest in blackout curtains, as the light and sound was my only “complaint” but still very typical for a street-facing motel inn. I usually see these curtains at motels to cover the blinds and I find them helpful. Otherwise very clean and felt very safe. SCAD dorms and buildings all around, as well as Savannah welcome center for Old Town Trolley next door, Savannah info center, coffee shop & museums very close. Staff was super friendly.
