The rooms are quite big and pretty clean, but the interiour is not very cosy.

Overall the stay was very good. The rooms were clean and large and for the price , very very good value. The reception staff were very helpful and the buffet breakfast was also good value. One minor issue was that you need to get a badge to access the car park, which is only available at check in - I found it a bit difficult to park nearby before checking in and then have to move the car later.

Basic accommodation but clean and everything you need for a stopover.
Short walk along the river to the town and some lovely restaurants.

We were in the city for two nights and needed a good price option with parking a breakfast as a possibility.
Arriving after 18.00 you need to enter via codes on the door and this worked fine. We were in contact with the hotel during the afternoon of our arrival and was explained the process.
The room has a feel of being small though it is not. There is a small kitchen in case you are into cooking or warming water for coffee/tea.
Breakfast and parking is not included and are charged on top of the room. The breakfast is very basic and for us it was not worth the price. Parking worked perfect.
The hotel is in walking distance from the city center and we were happy for the location. A nice walk along the river was enjoyed. We even made the walk to the citadel easily from the hotel.
Staff is friendly and helpful if needed.
All in all it is cheap price per night you just have to remember adding breakfast and parking to the price.

What a lovely city. The hotel is quite basic. Kitchen has a couple of hobs and a microwave so basic cooking can be done. When we arrived the TV and the air conditioning were broken. We did get a new TV but the heat in the night was overpowering. If you want a quick one night stop then I would say its ok but I wouldnt do more than one night.

Hotel was good not too noisy and the price decent for the family of 4. Only issue was the heat wave that had repercussion on the room temperature (without air conditioning), but finally the night was not bad even with the windows opened.
The extra bed was done with the sofa so not the best comfort but the kids did not seem to suffer.

Self catering so dont expect too much luxury. Bed linen and towels changed only once a week. We stayed 6 nights and by the end you could have done with fresh towels and linen. Apart from that it was a cozy stay. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Good location to town centre and the new tram. Nice walks around the citadel

easy to find from the north - convenient car park under the hotel, which considering it was 35 degrees, was most useful. 2 adults and 2 large teenagers fond plenty of room to spread out.

OK, it's cheap, but that's pretty much all this place has going for it.
The room I stayed in, a "Superior Studio", was far from superior. You get a double bed, a small flat-screen telly, wired internet access with the socket positioned next to the bed but the only free power socket on the other side of the room (so that you end up with cables trailing everywhere).
The tiled floor is incredibly cold underfoot, meaning that you have to wear shoes all the time; the kitchenette is missing useful things like a kettle and washing-up liquid (if you don't wash up anything you use, they'll charge you the 30 EUR cleaning fee), you get one tiny soap and shower gel (any more is charged for at 5 EUR, so bring your own), and you're required to take any rubbish to their bins in the bowels of the hotel, with the prospect of that 30 EUR cleaning fee if you don't.
The hotel is situated opposite Besancon's main fire station, with all that implies.
If the location is important to you, stump up an extra 20 EUR a night for the Ibis a hundred yards away; if it's the price, there's an Etap opposite the main railway station which is roughly the same price and is much higher quality!

We stayed in the Citea Besancon for 7 days. It is ideally situated near the town centre, only about 7 minutes walk from the old town but far enough out for a quick exit if you intend to tour around. We were given fresh towels every day and the room was kept clean and tidy. If you are intending to arrive by car I would recommend using the underground car park under the hotel. It is worth the expense as the nearest car park otherwise is about 4 minutes walk from the hotel. The one thing against this hotel is if you intend to go there to self-cater. There is no work surface, and the cooker is directly next to the sink and draining board which makes it incredibly difficult. It is fine if you need the facilities for boiling water for drinks etc but difficult for much else.

very accommodating ; receptionist very helpful and pleasant. Our second visit to this hotel and equally as enjoyable. Shall return here in the future.

The Citea was conveniently located near the center of Besancon. The rooms were large and the kitchenette was supplied with most everything you would need to eat and do light cooking. It was clean but lacked a few confort items. The floors were tiled and cold (no rugs)and there was little in the way of comfortable furniture or good lighting. The rooms are made up only once during the week so you did have to ask for more towels, soap, toilet paper, etc. There was no daily room service to pick up trash, deliver towels or make beds. We didn't find out until the end of our stay that there was a laundry facility so it would have been helpful if someone had pointed that out earlier in our stay. After 7 or 8 p.m. in the evening there is no one at the door so if you forgot the combination or needed help I don't know what you're supposed to do.

This is a nice place to stay for a few nights, with smart clean rooms in a modern building situated 10 minutes walk from the heart of Besancons. Whilst it is rather souless, it's great value for money and the mini kitchen (hobs, microwave & fridge) allows you to save on eating out costs if you desire. A word of warning - the reception has limited opening times so don't plan to check in late at night!

We just wanted a cozy place for one night, and instead we ended up at this long-term residency hotel. There was no front desk, no service, no one to help us call a cab at five in the morning. The room was clean and included a mini-kitchen and bathroom, but had a creepy tiled floor and was cold. If you're staying long term in Besancon, it might be nice to have the privacy and self-sufficiency, but otherwise it's not a great choice.
