You can tell they purchased an old hotel and have been doing upgrades as they go. No bugs. Beds are outdated and hard. Pretty sure the water isn’t filtered on the building. Breakfast is what you would expect at a $100 a night hotel. Also doubt they change the sheets everytime. And a strong note for the owner, longer shower curtains would keep the water damage to minimum vs the short ones I’ve seen 2 times now and the obvious floor issues caused by water around the tubs. Pretty decent hotel for $100 a night

The bed had a metal base that sounded like sheet metal making noise whenever there was movement on the bed.

It was dingy and not well maintained. Will not stay there again.

Mold in the bathroom above the shower. Hair on the sheets, hair in the washcloth dirt stains on one of the sheets and a cigarette burn on the blanket. When I requested a refund of the mold they tried to only give me half of my money back.

Tried to charge me for smoking cigarettes and I don’t smoke

I made a reservation through Expedia thinking it was for the Cullman AL hotel. After i gave my card information, it said were looking forward to your arrival in Decatur AL. Expedia said it was no refundable and the hotel in Decatur was absolutely no help. I will never use Expedia or use LaQuinta hotels ever again. I will do everything in my power to let people know how Expedia and Laquinta treat their customers.

It was fine for one night, but I didn’t go out to the car without my gun on my hip, because of the neighborhood and the other people staying overnight there. Definitely didn’t let my kids leave the room without me being with them. Wouldn’t pick this if you have children and we wouldn’t stay here again not even for one night.

The hotel was very run down. The rooms were absolutely filthy. The bottom of our socks were black in 5 minutes, the bathroom was terrible, the fridge was so dirty I didn’t even want to put my water in there. Beds were unbelievably uncomfortable. Huge disappointment for the price!

The beds had stains and hair in them, I almost slept in my car it was so bad. The bathroom tile was literally splitting and falling into the shower so none of us could swim. Worst experience in a hotel of my life and it was over 100 dollars.

Do not stay in this dive. There wasn’t an inch of cleanliness in the entire building. All of the carpeted floors in all of the hallways were filthy. Like they truly haven’t been swept in months. We had a room with two beds & a “pull out sofa.” The plastic pull out sofa was filthy. Stains all over it. All of our sheets & pillows had stains all over them. Legit stains everywhere. There was glitter & filth all over the floor inside our room. Very clear the floors inside the room hadn’t been swept. There was hair all over the interior of the shower. There were water stains throughout the ceiling. The odor of the building in general was absolutely foul. What I will say is that the lady at the desk was very friendly & helped with what we needed. This hotel needs updated desperately & they need to look into their housekeeping tendencies. It is clearly not getting cleaned.
Do yourselves a favor, go somewhere else. I truly wanted to sleep in my car.

This "hotel" was sub-standard. Not because it was dirty, but because it is not maintained. The room was dark and the floor lamp provided was broken. When I told the front desk she said they would replace it the next day. Never did.
The main door to the room and the bathroom door were falling off their hinges. Consequently, neither door opened nor shut easily. The bathroom door doesn't really matter but the main door had a 1/2" gap at the bottom where I could see the feet of the other guests passing by in the hall. The door was extremely difficult to open as the gaping caused the latch to not operate properly. Also told the front desk. The hotel was booked so there wasn't another room available.
The mini fridge's freezer was so frosted up nothing could be shoved in it.
The bathroom sink faucet was not screwed tightly below the sink, so it lifted up whenever I pulled the handle up to turn it on. Hot and cold water lines are reversed (not a huge deal; it happens) but turning the lever to the left for cold water brought a small trickle of water. The right side was SCALDING HOT water. So I brushed my teeth using the tub faucet.
The shower curtain was too short for the tub (or was hung too high) and barely touched the edge of the tub thereby allowing all the water from the shower head to flow over the edge of the tub and soak the floor.
I will say the bed was very comfortable, but we were awakened at 7:00 am by the barking dogs at the daycare behind us.

The site doesn’t have an elevator and when I asked where one was the last at the desk said it was to the left but there wasn’t one. We had to carry our luggage upstairs and were told there weren’t any other rooms available. When we asked again the person at the front desk said there wasn’t an elevator We were on the second floor. Holes in walls by the AC. Blind won’t go up so dark in room. Pull out couch was not connected so we had to figure out how to connect it and not push it apart while sleeping and breakfast was waffles you make or cold cereal. Disappointed

Hotel room was disgusting. Staff couldn’t find my reservation even though I called a day before to confirm it. We arrived late at night and didn’t have any other options so I had to ask for a a vacancy and paid twice to stay at the worst hotel I’ve been to in my life. Find somewhere else.

Floors were really dirty, bathroom needed a good remodel. However the staff was kind. Breakfast was very lacking as well.

The room appeared to have not been vacuumed as there were crumbs all over the floor. The bed also had some mystery substance all over the top cover. We requested a new room and the second room also appeared to have not been vacuumed and those beds were not very clean either, but we had no other options so we stayed. The beds were also uncomfortable and very noisy. Breakfast offered consisted of a few types of cereal, yogurt, waffles and that was it. The hotel needs a major remodel and general maintenance. There are water spots on many of the ceilings, holes in the walls, etc. We were supposed to stay here on our way back from our trip but cancelled.

Run down smelled like cigarettes even though non smoking building. Found hair on my sheets. Floors were disgusting. Even the wall art was turned like someone had a fight. Conditions of the walls were horrific. And the cherry on top was that in order to get into my room I had to do a full body slam to open the stick door. The front desk staff was nice but when I told about the cigarette smell she said oh ok and kept walking.

I called ahead because I knew I would be arriving after 10PM and wanted to make sure my room would be available. When I arrived, I found out that my room I booked had been given to someone else, so I got an alternate room. The room's toilet didn't work, so I had to use the lobby bathroom, there was evidence of drug use on the bathroom counter, the sheets were stained and the room had missing molding and holes in the walls throughout.

Book non-smoking room but found out that someone smoked weeds in the room before we checked in. The entire building smells horrible. Even non smoking floors stinks. Facility is pretty old and needs immediate renovations. Online pictures are fake.

Shabby hotel and attendant was not “into” her job.

We had roaches, and the comforter was dirty. The hallways looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a while, and the thermostat in the air conditioner was Fawlty and you had to wriggle it to work

My room was disgusting. The bed looked like it had been slept in the tub was horrific so I didnt even shower there. I was too exhausted to go through the whole ordeal of changing rooms. I just wanted to rest and unfortunately i wasnt even able to do that.

The room key would not open the outer door even after having the key reprogrammed. Shower faucet is constantly leaking.

Truly, the only positive thing we have to say about this property is that, while traveling, we had a bed to sleep in and air conditioning. The lobby was a designer's disaster. A sign of things to come. The bed's top covers were stained and dirty. We killed two bugs in our room. There was no hair dryer. There was no elevator to our second-floor room. We had to carry our luggage upstairs on arrival and downstairs on departure. A terribly poor attempt at remodeling the room had been made. Poor paint job, rough walls and poor tile and wall reconstruction in the bathroom. Both the bathroom sink and the tub did not drain properly. The toilet was a tiny size and very low to the ground. There is really very little good to report. We have stayed in LaQuinta hotels in other cities. LaQuinta's good reputation was damaged, at least for us, by our single night's stay in this property alone.
