The room was comfortable enough, not much of a view and not a whole lot going on in the surrounding neighborhood. Close to the train station, and a nice multi-use path runs just past the hotel and down to the waterfront. I appreciated the secure underground parking. Breakfast was decent.

Smart, modern large room in hotel conveniently opposite the railway station. The only place we stayed in Spain that provided a kettle! Fabulous menu of the day at lunchtime (to 15.30) for 20 Euros. Great choice at breakfast too.

The hotel was a bit far away from the old city, especially on a rainy day as we got. Anyway, the room was spacious and clean. And the restaurant was above average by all means. We got very impressed by the quality of the food.

Excellent property .staff all amazing very helpful. Rooms large and clean. Each floor has a communal sitting area with views of beach.less than 5 mins to beach. Train station and bus station close by. Cafe excellent. Got late check out and room upgrade

Enjoyed a wonderful 2-night stay in Gijón. Maria at the front desk was friendly and efficient. Room 510 was large, spotless and well-appointed. Clean bathroom, nice amenities, hair dryer, nice linens, comfortable bed. 15 min walk to “downtown” and a few minutes to train/bus station. Secure parking (included in our rate) below the hotel. Restaurants and bars nearby. Quiet neighborhood. Good breakfast with variety. Would stay here again!

The comfy bed, blackout curtains and near total silence made for a lovely nights sleep. The on-site parking was not only cheap, but very secure giving us peace of mind. Local facilities were good with a cafe next door and only 15 min walk from town. Thanks to its gold VIP status we also got a late checkout for free. Unfortunately we didn’t have our swimming trunks with us, but based on the number of people coming and going from the free pool, it must be worth a dip!

The Silken Gijon is a very nice modern chrome and glass hotel thats the rough US equivalent of a Holiday Inn or Marriott, We trained into Gijon to go to a wedding, and the hotel is across the street from it. The only downside, and it is an issue, is that its a 6 euro ride to the city center each way. Other than that, it is a very nice hotel

The surrounding looks a bit like in an industrial zone,but actually it is next to the train station and the odd land are former railway traks. By foot you reach the beach in 5 to 10 minutes. Walking downtown along beach and harbor is 15 to 20 min nice walk. Shorter walk from the railway museum a street behind beach Harbor front. The hotel offers also spa and pool, we did not use. Rooms are clean and ok. Wifi was good and a big TV could be used with our MS remote display adapter to play any movie from lur devices. Parking is plenty and spaceous at 8 euro a night.
