Good location - close to everything and ample parking spaces. Also quiet position as property is away from central palm cove. Staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the property has had its day and we had expected more from ratings and advertised pics. Room was run down, bed was falling apart, couch and curtains were sticky and dirty, thick dust behind couch, tv units, coming out of air vents and lamps, carpet not vacuumed (ever?!) and stained. Constant damp smell, and cockroaches found in kitchen and coming out bathroom sinks every night. Common for this to occur in Northern Qld apparently for older properties?! Gardens are pretty, and pool is lovely- shame water was too cold to swim in. Hot tub was good temp and grounds were well maintained.

I had booked 2 bedroom with 2 double beds ( ie) a double bed in each room. On arrival I we had a master bedroom with double bed. The second room looked like a study with 2 single beds in it!

The location of the Drift Palm Cove has everything you need in easy walking distance. Size of the pool is great and there is also a decent size heated spa. I stayed in a two-bedroom apartment which was ample in size and had the bonus of direct access to the pool. Would stay at the Drift Palm Cove again.

Firstly, Palm Cove is lovely with a laid-back island-like feel. Restaurants, bars, spas galore. Drift has a tropical resort feel with beautiful pool-area & friendly, accommodating staff & is in a very convenient location. Staying in a 1 bedroom beach-view apartment, we found it to be very clean & mostly comfy & we enjoyed the sounds of the waves & beach view. The combined bath/shower could certainly do with an update as can the sofa which has little support becoming uncomfortable if sat in for too long. Still, it did have all that we needed & included a relaxing day-bed on the rather large balcony & an extra powder-room with laundry facilities. We would stay again!

First room we got was very tied and run down not what was advertised, big thank you to the staff that relocated us to much better room., which we were very happy with. Would be great to see some sort of room grading on the adds, as it always very disappointing to walk into a room not up to what’s been advertised.

It has adequate kitchen and laundry facilities. If you like a cooked breakfast and/or lunch then this is more than fine. Dinner?, well let me put it this way, simple meals are best. Anything Gourmet go out for dinner there are many very good restaurants in Palm Cove for you to savour. A large balcony gives glorious 180deg. views of the Coral Sea. Great Pool and Spa to luxuriate in. Everything considered The Drift has everything one would want for a very relaxing and sun-filled FNQ holiday and is a great place to call home for the duration. I recommend this apartment to everyone

Location is superb. Loved the pool area and hot tub. We had a ground floor room, which was great for easy access in and out of pool zone. Our apartment was a generous size and had everything we needed for a super comfortable stay. Reception were extremely helpful with our late-evening check-in, and very accommodating on our last day as we had a late flight out. We were invited to use the pool and shower facilities, and we were provided with towels for the day. Really, couldn't have asked for more.

Nice option for Palm Cove, relatively tired facilities but generally represented good value for money. Best to note that this is more of family venue, so lots of kids about. Impossible to avoid the kids and noise in the pool area. Nice friendly staff, although limited in their availability and the services available.

Staying at drift for our 3 night holiday was wonderful. It’s close to the beach and cafes, It has a lovely pool & spa surrounded by luscious rain forest garden. The bed was comfortable & so was the room. The only complaint is that shower needs is a soap dish.

Great beachfront location within walking distance to lots of restaurants, while being opposite the beach. Our little fam had a blissful week’s stay here. Pool is huge and outdoor spa is nice too. All staff were friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean and a great layout. The second bedroom was close so ideal for our toddler to stay in. It is frosted second bedroom so not suitable for people who want a private second room, but perfect for families! Thank you for an amazing week :) x

I absolutely loved my stay at Drift Palm Cove. This holiday was a solo trip and I felt very safe and like I had everything I needed in the apartment. Pool was stunning and massive so everyone had their own space. Perfect location - would definitely go back!

Overall a good experience. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, comfy beds. Good options for family accomodation with multiple bedrooms and nice large pool. Most hotels in Palm Cove are within easy walking distance of anything you need eg: restaurant or supermarket and tour and transit operators pick-up/drop-off from here. The downside: the property is looking a little tired in some respects (rust/water stains) and the empty restaurants at the front (perhaps not formally part of the property) create a bit of a negative atmosphere. I appreciate that Covid and Cyclone Jasper impacted the area significantly. I’d consider staying again, but would also look at other options on return to Palm Cove.

Great location and the pool is phenomenal, you can swim in it all day and always find a patch of shade. Perfectly located in walking distance to everything along the Palm Cove esplanade. Will definitely stay here again.

Close to good food spots. Great pool. Just needs a little TLC to bring it up to a very good stay option. Our room had mouldy outdoor furniture which was not inviting and which we couldn’t use for the whole of over stay making outside eating, reading etc a non option.

Quite disappointing this time round. We have stayed at Drift a few times before as it is reasonably priced and comfortable for the family. This time however there was a lot of things that needed addressing however weren't in our 3 night stay- the spa wasn't working, the lift was out of order, when we got to the room the patio was dirty, the dishwasher was out of order, no tea towels, the toilet water kept running constantly, the stove top didn't work and very limited kitchen items. The check in was VERY slow. On the second night we couldn't get into our floor through the fire exit as the door handle on the outside has come out (and we couldn't use the lift as out of order). Was able to pry it open and then jimmy the door and lock so others weren't locked out. As it was 7pm there was no reception and I contacted the after hours however the solution was to put a hand written note on the door telling people to leave it open and it stayed there for the remainder of our trip. In saying all this, we were very understanding of the faults given the recent extreme weather event and wanting to support local tourism. Would still recommend a stay here as it has a great pool for families to hang at in the absence of the stinger nets at the beach. We have stayed in the same accom type (2 bedroom apartment) several times and it really just depends which room you are allocated as our first room was great, second room ok (bit smelly but otherwise fine) and this time round as many issues ;(

Great Resort, staff in particular were excellent. Extremely helpful and friendly. Pool was clean and there was always a shady part to swim in. Restaurants and cafes in the vicinity and the location on the promenade was brilliant.

This was out 3rd time in Palm Cove and 2nd in Drift Palm Cove. We love the hotel, very clean spacious room, big swimming pool, spa and gym. We will come back again.
