On arrival of the hotel we noticed the restaurant was closed for renovation, only to then find out the entire 1st floor was also under renovation.
We stayed in a suite 209/211. The room we stayed in has wallpaper peeling off the walls, carpet was dirty, bathroom has black mould on the tiles all around the shower and the shower curtain was stained and disgusting. A toilet bush was leaning up againt the wall with no cover.
Renovation work was on going until 8.30pm, which kept my 5 year old away. We were then woken at 6am by people talking above the room. I understand the building was built in the late 1800s but the siund was as though someone was shouting outside the door. The hotel smelt like a mix of building dust and curry.
The two member of staff i spoke to were polite, bedding was clean and the carpark being included in the price are the only positives from this stay over.
Photos show the state of the room.

We stayed here for a wedding for 2 nights unfortunately we were charged a 2nd time for our stay for 2 rooms / 2 nights and as we could not connect to the WIFI at first we had no choice but to pay but after a short while we demanded a refund after showing proof of payment in the APP. We were also told there was a flood on the first floor which meant that the communal areas were covered in building dust / debris on the carpets. After reviewing previous reviews it seems they're having upgrade works done and not a first floor leak! The restaurant was not open for business and the breakfast was served in the bar and was as basic as it gets however the cheese and ham was not covered in anyway to prevent cross contamination. We spoke to a helpful young lady called Lily who was happy to help with our queries. On checking out part of our party in a 2nd room were told to pay an additional £25 and felt very anxious as they couldn't leave as the booking was in my name. No explanation was given for the charge which after several minutes was all of a sudden dismissed. The double rooms are tiny, beds way too soft, shower is a trickle at best and a sewer smell in the bathroom. Although we thought it was good value for money at the time we wouldnt stay again for free.

An aging building looking a little sad and neglected
Bed was comfortable enough but the furnishings quite basic.

On arrival at the hotel we could hear loud banging. It turned out to be a room renovation taking place so it wasn’t exactly relaxing. This continued until around 5pm. The room we were assigned had a terrible smell, like a rat had died in there. We were given another room which was better. However, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn’t work, the curtains were hanging off the rail, and the light in the bathroom kept flashing on and off. The room definitely needed updating. The carpet seemed quite dirty; I didn’t even like walking on it. The bed was falling apart. Definitely wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay there again. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we were given a complimentary continental breakfast due to the issues we had experienced.

The hotel looks nice from outside, on closer inspection does reveals some tired exterior (like others I suppose). Entrance lobby is nice enough & clean & Receptionist was cheery & friendly. I had a twin room & staying for one night, as here for the weekend & just looking for a nice comfortable sleep (which I got). Firstly I should say that this met my purpose. Not too expensive but for the money I have stayed in better. Corridors, room doors & room itself was dated & could do with a refresh/upgrade but generally was clean. Part of curtains hanging off track. Carpets in hotel seemed to have some threadbare bits at tread edges. I did notice some other rooms were having work done so maybe that is happening over time - although was a bit noisy (thin walls) & another guest did complain after 5pm that work was still going on but wasn't for too much longer. Shower not the most powerful but hot enough. Refreshments & toiletries provided & clean towels. Beds comfy enough & were clean, decent mattress. Pillows a little thin for my liking. No air conditioning but we did have a fan provided & it wasn't too noisy. Surrounding area seemed nice enough (next to the Thames). View from room wasn't great but that wasn't what I was there for. Decent enough TV but live channels for some reason didn't work (except ITV ones)...free wifi so was able to use the SMART features to get some TV.
All in all it was a decent enough stay & I'd possibly stay again if it got that refresh it needs.

Fab location next to the river Thames. Really convenient as its well connected to main roads and routes near London, M25 and Heathrow airport.

Great location right next to the river Thames. The hotel is easy to find with good sized car park at the back. Well connected to main roads into/out of London and close to Heathrow airport. The access to the Thames path is right outside the hotel so good place to visit if you like walking along the riverbank.

The Hotel did not give a good first impression reception was dim it is obviously in need of improvement but the room was clean and the staff were pleasant. The taps in the bathroom were very hard to turn on and there was no soap although there was shower gel and shampoo. The room was serviced OK and the apple along with biscuits was a nice touch. In a perfect position by the Thames.

The hotel is nice but cannot hide its age.

Decent hotel, good for one night.

We stayed 2 nights in a pleasant, clean room.
The staff were very helpful. The area opposite the river thames was beautiful with nice walks
3.7
We used this for a 2 night stay, the hotel is a little faded but has started a refurbishment programme. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the bar meals we had were good. The location is good and we could walk along the Thames from the hotel. The hotel was clean and good value.
3.7
The hotel needs renovating as the rooms are dated with wallpaper peeling off, holes etc..the level of cleanliness is poor. No lifts and no help to carry cases to rooms. Staff are friendly and location is lovely. If the hotel was modernised it would be a lovely place to stay for sure
3.7
Very easy to check in, nice and clean , lovely location. Good bar and patio area

My wife & I have stayed at the Uno Thames on several occasions over the past 5 or 6 years because of its location near to my brother in law.
It has some lovely views over the river and makesxa great base for exploring the surrounding area.
On every occasion the hotel has suited our needs and the staff are always helpful.
On this particular occasion the restaurant was closed for refurbishment but evening meals were still being served in the bar/lounge. The meals are excellent.
3.7
The staff were attentive and helpful beautiful view over river. Fairly priced alcohol. Good price for what you pay. NOW. I believe there’s new ownership. The place needs lick of paint I thought the limited food menu was a bit pricey. Single room needs new carpet and bed but did the job. Seating outside was shabby and falling apart. If they are new owners I wish them well in bringing this hotel up to scratch
3.7
Very clean, staff friendly and helpful, next to the Thames - great view. We didn’t use the bar and restaurant but looked ok, easy free parking. The hotel is a bit dated and tired and does not have a lift. Great price.
3.7
Quiet, peaceful, safe, convenient and pleasant environment with welcoming and friendly staff

The staff were lovely, the place was clean. Just needs a bit of updating. Would stay again

We liked the position of the hotel right by the Thames and near the Promenade for the Windsor boat trip we had booked, also near Jenner's Cafe for a great breakfast. The hotel says continental breakfast available but that's a pack of lies as NO breakfast is available. We were expecting an Executive River View Balcony room but ended up in a side view river view room with no balcony. Also we were looking forward to the Italian restaurant advertised but this had closed down due to new owners, and the only menu available was a limited one which could only be eaten on small tables in the noisy, busy bar with smoke from cigarettes drifting in through the doors open to the terrace. So on both our nights there we had to grab a sandwich from the nearby garage as we have limited mobility and unable to venture out to find somewhere else to eat. One of the reasons we booked was for the Italian Restaurant and either Expedia or the hotel should have informed us that it was closed!! So with no breakfast and no dinner and no balcony room we were very disappointed as we had been looking forward to this weekend away for a nice break as I am 73 and my wife is 68 and we don't get much chance to get away. The staff were very polite and helpful, especially Lilly on Reception and she was very apologetic about the things that were lacking, but unfortunately it couldn't change our disappointment.

Exactly what I required
3.7
Very tired property but large room with comfortable bed and lovely views of the river
3.7
Most uncomfortable bed , paper thin walls , old and dated, breakfast as advertised not available, Woman at front desk not very friendly, toilet barely flushed . Won’t be returning
3.7
Got charged twice, shower was so hot as to be unusable, and no one available to fix. Room was incredibly hot and not helped by inability to shower. Didn’t stay. Owner said they would email about refund but have not received any email.
3.7
Cheap and cheerful. The service was good, especially as I was greeted by a night porter when I arrived back from my night out at 2am. Room was very dusty, shower was weak, furnishings were dated and bed was basic but view of the Thames was stunning.

Staff were excellent with great service, however the room wasn’t the cleanest and could have done with a hoover before guests check in!

Nice position but needs some TLC.

Great stay
3.7
Thank you, a great easy and quiet location for a stay in Taplow!
3.7
Very basic, pillows were flat as a pan cake. Room was cold both radiators where off! hot water took ages to come through the shower, nearly out of toilet roll with no spare roll like most other hotels
3.7
No breakfast available , dirty toilet, no soap, need refurbishment
3.7
Hotel is very old and the musty smell hits you when you walk in. Travelling with my elderly mother and given a room 4 flights of stairs at end of corridor- no lift. Room was old and smelt musty. Valance sheets on very small single beds were dirty and torn. Curtains were a disgrace - dirty and torn also. Asked to change rooms since we had paid upfront for both nights which they did. Room a little better but smaller. Never again ! Pity because the location was great.
3.7
Easy, good two-night convenient stay in Taplow nextt to the river!
3.7
Hello, there are two problems that can be blamed on the hotel, firstly, the room was not heated, and secondly, the sound of the water pipe in the upper room came into our room, but our room had a balcony where we could see the beautiful view of the Thames River.I really liked the old style of the hotel and in general I would definitely like to stay there again in the summer.
3.7
The hotel could do with a lick of paint and new carpets. The bed was tipping to one side and generally the place felt as if the owners just didn't care about it. The staff were lovely, but you got the feeling they didn't really care either. I have known this hotel for over 45 years, and its never been or looked so unloved. There was no breakfasts available as before on our last stay, but the evening bar meals were adequate
The crappy boat moored over the road needs to be got shot off as it's a complete eyesore, and it has funny smells eminating from it, which you can smell as you walk by.
All in all our stay was ok, but this hotel could be made into a really beautiful place with a bit of love and a whole heap of cash thrown at it.
Oh, and a lift would be a great addition for us oldies!

Overall fairly run down and needs a refit.
Smelly in places. Dusty rooms. Shower doesn’t stay at a consistent temperature.
