Like staying in a tenament. Peeling paint, thin walls, broken coffee machine, but it also felt...kind of authentic? Very starving artist, which was cool. BUT the BEST PART is that they have a CAT named BRONX and he is THE SWEETEST.

If you like the smell of cats piss. have an affection for cockroaches and think customer service is overrated....then look no further

Wasn't my top 10 places, it didn't feel all that clean to me and the beds were uncomfortable, but the staff was good to us and the location was good.

We had a great time! A subway on the block got us everywhere in the city. Thank you.

If you want a very cheap hotel in a very good location this is your spot.

Typical NYC walk up. Small space but expected in NYC. Nice to have private bath and kitchenette for sure. Very close to subway system. Three in room is tight but made it work. Lobby and stairwell smelled like cat urine, cat is very nice though.Need 3 prong plugs near living area, only in BR and Kitchen. Ironing board need updated, lumpy. AC worked great. Need 4 serving items in Kitchenette, not even enough for 3 people andneed handtowels and was clothes.

This hostel was exactly what I was looking for to stay in NYC and not pay a fortune

The rooms are quite nice but the bathrooms are so disgusting I showered at a friends house. They smell the same way the subway does, a lot of pee and just completely dirty.
Everything is also so dark and the stairs can’t fit a person with bug bags so you kinda have to go up and down when you have too much stuff.
My keys wouldn’t work at least once a day so I would have to take the stairs 5 floors down and 5 floors up to get them fixed.
There’s a cat (very cute) I think probably for rats or something like that. I’m sure it’s also responsible for the smell.

the property was well located for the price, however it wasn’t worth the surprises we ran into. When we arrived, we were told we would be on the fifth floor- which would be fine if there was an elevator. Two 40 year olds with bad backs had to carry all their stuff up to the fifth floor using only stairs. There was a cat who lived in the building- the third floor smelled of cat litter. Why was the cat there? Clearly for pests. The shared bathroom was okay, I guess, but there was a towel on the floor for the three days and two nights we were there that never moved and a cockroach crawled up the drain while the other person I was there with was showering. The beds clearly had bed bug encasements on and I saw a black dot- which means poop. It wasn’t covered in poop parts and was likely on inside but still disconcerting. Lastly? They give you a sheet and one incredibly thin blanket to sleep with- so bring your own blanket if you want to stay there. The four pillows were good and the little kitchenette was handy.

No elevator and they don’t let you know.

NO ELEVATORS and we were on the 5th floor, lady at desk laughed at that, and there are Shared bathrooms! Very run down - rooms felt sort of clean and communal baths were clean, but what dump at 200.00 per night!

The Matress in my bedroom was so used that I was feeling the springs directly touching my body. The bathroom shower Curtain smelled like it wasn’t washed in 6 months.
This is a share bathroom place, where more than 15 people shower every day. The location is good, however the property condition is extremely poor.
I will recommend this place as the last option.

This is clearly a budget ‘hotel’ so you’ll just need to know that going into it. We had an economy room with shared bathroom and it was still 200 or so a night, but hey it’s NYC.. and location location location! Bed had terrible springs and if you’re with a partner they will have to climb over you to get out. So room was tiny. Small kitchenette with very limited cutleries (two cups, two small plates, two cups and silverware, but for no odd reason any glasses. ) Tiny ac unit that is boarded into the window which felt a bit claustrophobic. Feels a bit like a firetrap as there’s only one escape route, though there is a sprinkler system. Bathroom is veryc basic. Cute house cat

Friendly staff. Clean comfortable rooms. The bed was soft and had extra pillows. Our room faced the back and was very quiet. A subway stop was steps away. Restaurants everywhere. A busy safe neighborhood. They had a Hotel Cat, which thrilled my daughter. It's, a one star hotel, and the building shows it's age. The shared bathroom was clean and available when we needed it. Unfortunately the lounge and garden were closed when we were there. The kitchenette was a great bonus, for a one star hotel. We would definitely stay again.

Close to everything. Not clean in the room or the whole hotel. Saw cockroaches in my room every day. Advertised as Full kitchen but does not include: sink, toaster, boiler, all utensils.
1.0
It wasn’t neat at all (cockroaches on sink, hairs from other people in the bed and towels, poo on toilet seat, smelly). If your allergic to cats, don’t go here. Also they’re in control of the heat in the rooms so it got reallyyy hot at night and you can’t leave the window open. On the plus side kind staff and good location also for New York very affordable.

Place looked nothing like the pictures and was very noisy. Didn't sleep because of it

The place was really dirty, specially the restrooms which were shared.

Would not recommend unless you are ok with hostel environment. I did like outdoor space in back. But kitchen area not as shown. Bathrooms could be cleaned more often

No Elevator, but they were very kind to help me lift and carry the luggage up and down the stairs. The Location was AMAZING, right next the subway and the CVS. The mini fridge and microwave were so helpful and the shared bathroom was usually available when I needed it. But I hate when the TV DOESN’T WORK.

This hotel is very dated and lacks amenities you would expect at a hotel with this nightly rate. We canceled our stay after the first night. Hotel room was not clean, communal bathroom was not clean, the rooms are very loud offering little privacy.

I am absolutely infuriated and feel utterly deceived by the false advertising of this hotel. What was promised as a comfortable stay turned out to be a nightmare in this dilapidated, filthy excuse for a motel. With no elevator in sight, we were forced to trudge up and down five exhausting flights of stairs. The photos of the rooms are a complete farce - they're cramped, with furniture falling apart at the seams. The window shutter was hanging off its hinges, the bedside cabinet was lopsided, and the so-called second bed was as uneven as a seesaw. And the bedding? Those thin, pathetic sheets left us shivering through the night, a far cry from the warm covers we were expecting. The bathroom was just as disappointing: small, grimy, and utterly neglected. I urge everyone to steer clear of this place. It's a blatant rip-off!

This location is very convenient to the major subway lines. You can hop on the L train at the corner and go to Brooklyn, you can get on another train in the same station and go uptown. It is blocks from Chelsea Market and the West Village. This is not a fancy place, but clean, cozy, and convenient. This was my second stay here.
3.0
This place isn't the most comfortable but the staff is really friendly and it's located in a great spot within the city. Making it easy to go anywhere. There are also some really great eating spots in walking distance.
I will say however, that it is quiet noisy. You can hear the traffic and all the conversations people are having right outside your window. The beds need to be upgraded as they feel old and worn.
Overall, I'd say if your looking for a convenient place to stay this place is great. But if you are looking for something with comfort and an emphasis on cleanliness you might want to look elsewhere.

I would like to get my money back or at least tell me why is not acceptable this place
1.0
The website and images are deceptive.
Our room had a queen/twin bed that stretched from one side to the other, you had to climb over it to get to the other side. The closet had 2 hangers and an aircoditioning unit on the floor. the safe was locked.
The bathrooms are NOT attached there are two on each floor with doors that could be easily pushed open, and needles to say are not clean as all rooms use them.
This is also a walk up. The whole building is very tied looking.
It should not be rated as a Hotel but as a Hostel.
