Great service, very friendly management, beautiful building and surroundings.

An enchanting place to stay! Staff always smiling and willing to do whatever they can to make you feel special. We had dinner at their restaurant and both the food and the service was outstanding! Very cozy place for a getaway in the Normandy region!

We loved staying in this historic chateau with its beautiful common areas and surrounding park. Everyone who works there is very friendly and willing to help. The breakfast was delicious!

We stayed for a week and enjoyed every minute of every day that we were here. Staff is warm and welcoming. We used this as a base to take day trips around Bretagne and Normandy, and always joked that we were "going home" at the end of the day. Breakfast included many local products, and always tasted fresh. Selection superb, setting relaxing. If we go back to this part of France, we would not stay anywhere else.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay and staff very helpful and accommodating. A delightful spot, bedroom spacious, clean and comfortable, great home-cooking and will definitely stay there again.

We were on a mini-vacation to Bretagne for my birthday and were looking for a hotel that would make the occasion be truly special. Château du Colombier did not disappoint. We had two wonderful dinners at the restaurant - the staff was attentive and friendly - we could not have asked for more from our stay!
We would definitely come back if we were to take another vacation to the area around St. Malo.

Pretty chateau, a little ‘shabby-chic’. Bathroom rather more basic than expected. Food in restaurant very good - interesting French/Asian fusion. Extremely helpful and amiable manager.

The best and most romantic place for a very affordable price.
Also you MUST have dinner there. This is the spouse of the hotel manager who is cooking and the food is just amazing. The bread is done minutes before being brought to the table.
It is unbelievable to see how cheap the price is vs the top service and top quality you get there.
JUST AMAZING

Wonderful service and delightful staff who could not be more helpful or pleasant. Beautiful grounds and building straight out of a fairy tale. But you can actually stay there and it’s quite reasonable. I would love to return.

Enjoyed every moment at the property.... staff were wonderful! We had a delicious dinner in the beautiful dining room.

4th time here but first under new managers. Didn’t realise the previous couple had left. Attention to detail not there any longer and not quite so special as an experience. Perfectly charming still but lacks the special something which made this place so great before.

Loved everything about it!

The host was extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was really good, both hot and cold. Everything nicely presented and high quality.

The hotel is in a great location, close to Saint Malo, Cancale and other beautiful places on the Atlantic. The restaurant is wonderful. There is a new chef and I had the best oysters and lobster I’ve had in years! The service was terrific and we enjoyed walking around the chateau with a glass of champagne. For 150€ a night, it was a great value.

Restaurant service on a Monday in France- exceptional. Lovely château and very nice people. Lovely bedroom 106 - maybe could do with a blind on the circular window in the bathroom?

If you want to feel like a fairytale princess, you must come here!
Beautiful castle, situated 5 mins drive from Saint Malo
For our first night we ordered dinner in advance, which was delicious and beautifully served. The owner of the castle gave us wonderful treatment, with much care and attentiveness to our needs. They upgraded our room with no additional cost. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The castle is surrounded by a park, with many places to sit and relax. Highly recommended place to stay! But only if you’re traveling by car.

I booked this hotel several months ago on the basis that it has a restaurant. On the morning of my arrival I received an email from the hotel to inform me that they were invoking low season early and that that restaurant would not be available.
I asked for a partial refund and was offered some cheese instead.
Had I know it did not have a functioning restaurant I would not have booked this hotel.
When you pay significant amount per room for a 4 star hotel with a restaurant, that is what you expect.
The hotel refused to make any kind of refund. Do not stay here as you may not get all of the services they say they offer.

RURAL LOCATION BUT ONLY 15 MINUTES FROM THE CITADEL

Ideal French experience, beautiful cheateau with very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely rooms, great location, excellent restaurant at the cheateau but also near other great dining choices. We would go back to this place again.

If you are looking for a stay at a lovely manor home then this is your place! A spectacular home overlooking beautifully manicured gardens. No need to travel to town for a delectable meal as they have an in house restaurant. When we return to St Malo we will definitely stay here again.

Magnificent grounds surrounding the hotel. Welcoming and gracious owners. Room very comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast served in a solarium. Recommended!

The restaurant was superb and the staff were excellent. The chateau and grounds were delightful and only a short taxi drive to the St Malo old city.

Wonderful staff, great food, impressive but comfortable accommodations. An overall memorable experience. My only suggestion would be to improve the lighting in the bathroom otherwise no complaints at all. The staff were professional while still being personable and friendly.

When we arrived at this hotel after three hours travel from Paris on the TGV, the place was empty, dark and there were no cars around. My husband got down to go to the front desk and the hotel door was LOCKED and we could not see anyone there. We kept knocking and calling for about ten minutes and no one answered. Then we heard a very large dog barking, we got scared and left. I told Hotels.com and then someone from the hotel said that she was there, that she saw us and that she thinks we saw her. If we had, we would have turned back. we had nowhere to stay that night and had to go into town to look for another hotel. The hotel refuses to return my money, I have never had such a BAD EXPERIENCE in my life. To arrive at night to a hotel out in the boonies, in a very dark and lonely place, to find it locked and empty and then have a huge dog barking like crazy at us. I insist that this person from the hotel, Carole, return our payment., as any serious and honest business person would.

The chateau is simply beautiful and peaceful, with very comfortable beds and nice amenities. This is certainly not top of the line luxury, or even four star by most measures, but the place is quaint and charming and you do feel like you are staying in a historic home. We enjoyed it very much.

We spent a night here in early June - during a heatwave so the one overwhelming impression was the heat - even with our windows wide open it was too hot to sleep well. Other than that, a lovely hotel with a small staff working very hard indeed to keep us happy. Splendid gardens and a very relaxed feel. Quite hard to find but once we arrived it had a feeling of having stepped back in time. Seemed like a very family-friendly place.

Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds, but internally it needs some updating. There is no restaurant which was a problem in the evening as nearest places to eat are 4 miles away.

Beautiful retreat from the business of the city. Peaceful grounds surrounding the Chateau. Excellent continental breakfast. Easy to get to other popular destinations from here. Our honeymoon was enchanting in a very romantic country and destination point at Saint Malo.

A one night stay proved to be very comfortable and relaxing

The hotel rooms are large and well decorated for a chateau such as this. The hotel bar is actually a little lounge to the right of reception and the receptionist will get your drinks for you. It closes at 10pm so the hotel is very quiet. The grounds are beautiful. The staff members were helpful and friendly.
