Excellent -5 stars. The staff were amazing especially Kercia. Her demeanor, professionalism and helpfulness made this stay amazing. If you are staying in Salvador, you must stay here.

The hotel was really nice and is central to the location. During the day it’s ok to walk around but one needs to be careful of the surroundings but the old town is a fun place to go around. At night it’s not a good idea to walk just take Uber. The staff was super friendly and it’s a great place to stay to explore Salvador

Beautiful historic hotel in the middle of everything I wanted to see and do in Pelourinho. Excellent shopping was just a short cab ride away. Would definitely stay there again. Very clean and the staff was amazing.

Nice and well located hotel, right in the center of Salvador. Staff really friendly and helpful, giving advices and booking activities. The property is an old house transformed into a hotel so it looks a bit old but it's fine.
It's a good option but I wouldn't classify it as a 'boutique' hotel since it lacks a few commodities, for example, the rooms are too small and don't have a wardrobe to hang your clothes properly, the bath is really small and the shower doesn't have a shelf to put your toiletries while you shower.
But in general I would definitely recommend it.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Happy they spoke English.

Bahiacafe is ideally located at the entrance to the historic sector of Salvador, and at affordable taxi rides from beaches etc. Warm and friendly staff assist with organising excursions. Interesting breakfast buffet but no other in house dining, ( but why bother with so
many alternatives within walking distance?). The Caipirinha cocktails in the evening were great. Overall, a nice alternative-but-modern vibe at reasonable prices.

This was the smallest room I've ever stayed in and also the most expensive, during my visits to Brazil. There were ants in the room and walking into the room it smelled like piss. Not sure if the smell was coming from the alley or if it was actually the room. No closet space or iron. They had one tea cup with a few packs of tea, but no machine to make the tea. Not a bad location. I stayed for 2 nights and it cost me $221. I have stated beachfront hotels with a saview for less than $70 a night. The only view I saw out of my window is a rooftop. Wouldn't stay at this hotel again nor would I recommend to anyone to stay here.

Bahiacafe is in a great location to the historic center. Bonus - enjoy the breakfast looking over an active square to start the day. The team was very helpful with recommendations and advice on travel to other local beach areas.

Great service and hotel. Amazing place with great breakfast and location. Will come back

The staff were very attentative to our needs at all times. Joao, the front desk manager, was outstanding. The room was a good size, but lacks drawers or closets. The location is great, but to get to the beaches it takes at least 15min drive. You can't walk there from the hotel. The nearby neighboorhood is danger after dawn, so it is not recommended to walk alone in certain areas near to the hotel.

This place was amazing. In the heart of the historic district. It was very traveler friendly having provided many things to do in the area, food to eat, a very hospitable staff and owner. I loved the decor of the hotel and the comfort of my room!

I loved every minute of being at this beautiful and electic hotel. The staff were all nice friendly and inviting and the room was immaculate with everything that was needed. I'm sure they have the hottest showers in Bahia!!! If I go back to Pelourinho, I will definitely stay again!!

A well restored and maintained 300 year old building that was converted to a hotel. We enjoyed our stay. Centrally located in Pelourinho Bahiacafe was a great base to tour the city from. The room was perfect for 3 people, it was clean, and the breakfast was wonderful. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone that is adventurous and likes quant hotels. We felt safe day and night but never let our guard down.

Great stay in Salvador. This hotel was clean, had excellent wifi and breakfast and very nice reception. Just make sure to not bring a rental car, it's a nightmare to drive in Salvador and in the Colonia city. It cost 100000 R for 2 nights, and a migraine.
2.5
From the outside and inside I felt like I was in a 300 year old building with modern amenities. The staff was incredible, as was the breakfast. Even their hand picked drivers were amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. This was a lot better than our modern beachfront place

Charming ambiance, super location. Staff was very helpful. No elevator, but staff quickly hauled our luggage up to our 2nd floor. room.

The hotel is perfect for a trip in Salvador de Bahia. The owner and the staff (from the front desk to the kitchen) are lovely and so helpful. The room are beautiful, big and very quiet even if we are directly located on the Praça de Se. Walking distance from everything you want to visit in Salvador de Bahia. I highly recommend this place.

I was a little nervous when I got dropped off at the hotel. The surrounding area is kind of rough, and the outside of the hotel didn't look like much. I was very happy to see how nice the inside was. It is extremely charming. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The bed was good, but a little firm for my liking. The staff were amazing. They spoke English and were able to help me purchase my boat ticket to Morro de Sao Paulo. I would not recommend going out after dark. There was a lot of screaming and yelling on the streets, and sounded like a pack of wild dogs were running around. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Beautiful old colonial building. Comfy bed, nice shower. Great location.

concierge staff were very nice and helpful. The place was clean. Nice breakfast place on the 1st floor. Bar needs to improved a lot though.

Excellent location. Spacious room. Aware have a lot of stairs no elevator Needs better safety box

Very bad pressure in the shower and low temperature. Terrible window view of dirty roofs. Many flies in the breakfast fruits and not so clean. Very simple "hotel" and central location in Pelourinho. Recommend to stay in Barra or Rio Vermelho instead and not in Pelourinho.

Well looked after, with friendly staff. A nice haven away from the hustle and bustle of the street life outside. Beautiful breakfasts that set you up for the day. Walking distance to all the attractions in the old city.

Excellent location, amazing decorations and a perfect host, thank you Marcus.
2.5
The highlight of our stay was the service we got. The staff were very nice, exceedingly helpful and spoke good English (which isn't really that frequent in Brazil).
The hotel itself is fabulous. A heritage building with a very authentic feel to everything - yet rooms are decently appointed and up-to-date. Keep in mind that rooms are indeed smallish - I suppose this is how they built things few hundred years ago... Still, overall experience was great.
2.5
This hotel is located in a great part of Pelourinho in Salvador. There are lots of great restaurants nearby and the staff gives great suggestions. The area is definitely touristy with people on the streets trying to sell you things. It is located in Cidade Alta near the elevator to take you to Cidade Baixa. The hotel is situated on top of a really great cafe that has internet (free for residents after closing) and really great food and drinks. The breakfast is good at the hotel, with fresh juice, bread, presunto, cheese, coffee cakes, and fresh fruit. It is overall very clean and comfortable, with really nice renovated bathrooms, while maintaining the historic feel.
