The staff was terrific and offered a great deal. The only incident was when the staff that did the laundry charged over 70euros more as they checked a box on my laundry sheet stating I wanted expedited service. And the laundry came back wet. They quickly resolved the issue by taking away the upcharge and taking our clothes back and drying them completely.

Worst hotel ever. Feels like it is stuck in the 80’s - Everything is old. No hot water in the shower. They told us to take a shower in the spa. AC didn’t work and it was very hot in The night. Breakfast was not tasty. At least we got a discount in the end. Still - not worth it.

YOU CANT USE THE SPA unless you are staying on the top suites. Spa access is reserved for VIP suites only, SPA has only space for 8 people per day meaning most likely it will be taken by the VIPS. If there is space, then you must know that SPA is NOT included, it costs 20 euros per person. Service is like highway hotels, not 5-star service.

We had an amazing time at the hotel with our family. It’s a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location

The resort is very nice: plush, comfortable and excellent service throughout the location.
Personally we didn’t like the pool set up and we found the food and drink expensive.
The beach club is a climb down but very nice.
Very nice room with sea view with a really comfortable bed.

Extremely friendly and professional staff in an amazing hotel where we stayed 35 years ago! Large and beautiful grounds to enjoy, a small private beach, and the hints of the forgone glamour which these days are hard to find in the new and very design hotels. some common areas have been well redesigned and upgraded, while keeping some great pieces to remmind us of the past of this hotel. the rooms could do with a facelift though, but are very comfortable and with a great balcony and seaview. I will go back again!

Only issue was when we dropped off our clothing for laundry service they seemed to have forgotten about it. They said tomorrow afternoon and I said that only works if we book another night. They promptly got them done although still somewhat damp when we got them. Other than that small glitch they did an awesome job.

Overall excellent the only drawback was getting the laundry done. We left them the bag at 8:30 when they were cleaning the room and they seemed to have forgotten about it. When I called the desk they were great about getting it back to us only still wet. Not much of a problem but worth noting.

The hotel itself was fantastic. Comfortable, in a great location and with good facilities. What let it down was the attitude of the hospitality staff. With one or two exceptions the serving staff seemed to have little interest in their work and no interest in the guests, and virtually ignored you as they passed (never a “bon journo”) and virtually grunted when we asked for more coffee or wanted to order food at the pool bar. We felt that we were living in a separate universe from the staff and ceased trying to engage them in conversation except for what was totally necessary for our needs. The exceptions were the porters and reception staff and the bar man in the lounge, who were very pleasant.
We also felt that for a five star hotel the food, considering the prices charged, was below standard for a five star hotel. The range on offer was limited and the quality and presentation sub standard. I could not finish one dish I was served as the veal was too tough to eat. It was taken away, but no apology was offered.

We enjoyed our stay here. The view is beautiful- our room overlooked the pool and the ocean. The hotel
Is very nice, we could park right in front of the hotel and the setting was amazing. The service was very helpful. The breakfast was very good - includes omelettes with choice of ingredients and lots of pastries and fruit and meats and cheeses to choose from.

Let's get the negatives out of the way first! What they DON'T tell you is that the hotel is built over the train line which runs between France and Italy. Trains run all the time at intervals varying from minutes to hoiurs apart. This is manifested as a noticebale rumble; the level of which, depends on which floor your room is lpocated. The lower you are, the more of a loud rumble. You might get used to this or not depending on how light/heavy a sleeper you are. It can be quite irritating. Wifi is
Next, if you're not a fan of dogs or cats, then this might not be a hotel for you. Dog owners are positively encoraged to bring their pooches with them and there appear to be a pair of cats roaming the property. These might be rodent catchers - not sure.
Onto the good stuff: The car park up a slope from the road is attended. Courteous reception staff. The rooms are of high comfort with huge beds. Linen changed daily. Well appointed bathrooms but with limited space for your owns stuff. Frdge with 28 million bottles of every type of beverage at eye- watering prices. Most rooms have balconies opening to the sea, the sun and Ospedaletti to the east in the dstance. Great sunrises! Spa. Beach club in the summer.
Circular outdoor heated pool available all year round. Buffet breakfasts and comprehensive room service. A wide type of clientele; many spending new year here from across the border in France. Will definitely come back, but will be sure to get a high floor room next time!

It is certainly amazing stay, comfort, great service, we decide stay one more night on the way back to Barcelona. The only regret is the international adapter, need to purchased instead like other hotel, can lend one for free. Now day a couple may at least need 3 devices to be charged daily.

Its a little walk to the town, but worth it as the hotel is fantastic. Its got everything you could want on a holiday of this type.
I use it as a cycling base into the local villages and towns.
San Remo is only a short distance to all the main shopping outlets.
I'v been back here three times now and just might be back again.

great breakfast, great sea view from room. Swimming in the sea a bit of a trek tho.
everything great except that I would have liked a bath as well as a shower.
Also clock in room not working and I am stupid and could not work it and I really do need a clock in the room. Also the hotel does not have adapters (particularly for phones) so if you forget yours you have to charge in the reception office which is a bit of a bind. Also my room which was lovely, did not have a kettle - which I received immediately after asking, but no mugs to make tea..... or for that matter any tea bags ! I love this hotel !

The poor wifi in my room was very frustrating. This is a great hotel in super location. Its rather traditional and tired in places but never the less still lovely . My room and bed were very comfortable. Room service very efficient. Only one English speaking tv channel I could find, which was awful because I didnt have wifi either ! Good breakfast by the swimming pool. Convenient safe car parking and lovely porter.

We very much enjoyed our relaxing stay. The hotel was an unusual mix of fine antique furnishings and art within a sixties building in very pretty gardens which all overlook the sea. The view from our room, which had a spacious sea-view balcony was terrific. We were glad we took a travel kettle - the Brits like their tea - but there was a well stocked mini bar. The staff were all really helpful and professional, especially at the reception desk - where it was never too much trouble to advise on the many local beauty spots and restaurants. Breakfast was amazing, taken around the pool, with a wonderful selection of foods, and a short-order chef making omelettes, pancakes and waffles to order! We hired a car, so enjoyed touring the area and so never needed to tackle the fairly long and uninteresting walk along the main coastal road into Bordighera.

Beautiful hotel,if you do not speak Italian I would advise a phrase book as no one within a 5 mile radius seems to know any English yet strangely we found that quite nice. Not the cheapest hotel weve stayed at but when you arrive youll realise that.

This hotel is a hidden gem of a hotel and we genuinely were sad to be leaving after our fabulous week there . From the road you'd never know it was there, and your arrival by car is via an access road which is actually underneath the hotel, so it's all a bit like driving into an underground car park and not that impressive really. However, persevere and you will arrive at a drop off/ small car parking area, with a very grand marble reception hall adorned with sculptures and oil paintings. The reception staff were warm and welcoming. Elizabetta answered the few questions we had and within minutes we were walking into our classically styled room with floor to ceiling glass sliding doors that lead to a decent sized terrace with amazing sea views. The queen sized bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. The only thing that wasn't in our room was any tea or coffee making facilities, however a kettle was supplied by the ever helpful reception staff.
The hotel has charming old school style and values, staff in smart uniforms who spoke many languages, catered for our every need without being in any way obtrusive.
The restaurant is very nice indeed whether sitting inside or outside by the pool and the food was amazing. I had one of the best fillet steaks I've ever had, in a mushroom and truffle sauce which was recommended to me by the Restaurant Manager Antonio who was just great.
There are quality loungers and rattan seating around the ample grounds.

Overall we had a very good time, although the food certainly let down the experience, we had far better meals in local cafes/restaurants/hotels. Not up to the standard of a 5star hotel and overpriced for the quality.
The restaurant had two very good singers/pianists although most evenings it was virtually empty. The highlight was Antonio the Maitre'd who was exceptional.
Hotel facilities and grounds were lovely, very nice pool, service on the whole was good although the Reception staff were very poor. We were actually asked to visit the local information bureau to have our question answered and much of the information we were given was incorrect.
The italian riveira beaches are mostly gravel, as is the hotel's private beach, which was disappointing although we probably should have researched before we left.
Overall, a lovely looking hotel with great facilities although we wouldn't visit the Italian Riveiera again due to a lack of sandy beaches, good but not great food and lack of buzz. The area is living on past glories imo. Cote d'azur is still streets ahead...
We were actually asked to visit the town

Caveat Emptor (let the buyer be aware) room was booked was with a balcony, that you had to peer through the side to see any view, bad location. Absolutely nothing to do at hotel. Not a 5 star, as stated, more like a 3 star. Iv stayed in 5 star hotels previously and know what to expect. Receptionist needs training, especially in customer service. A customer was being served as we arrived, whilst we were waiting, the customer then left and the receptionist then stated to us "you've probably already heard me talking to the customer previously, so if you need to know anything else then let me know". It was clearly too much trouble for her to explain the benefits/amenities of the hotel that were included in our stay at the hotel. The internet connection, although free, is as slow as a snail. Balcony was not cleaned. No tea or coffee making facilities. Small bottle of water 4.5 Euro's, walk into the town is a good half an hour. If you want a hot breakfast, you have to ask, this is not made clear. Would not stay at this hotel again. We booked this hotel after reading other reviews, however, our experience was not a pleasant one. We felt that we had wasted our money on this hotel booking.

Positive fact about hotel: Exellent spa - the pool with the salt water, nice steam room, sauna with realy high temperature (80C), aromatic shower and everything free of charge and from 10AM to 9PM. Free valet parking. Pleasant sea view from the room balcony. A lot of trees and flowers in the garden, pool with sea water. All hallways are decorated with antic paintings, sculptures, furniture etc. that can suit the good museum. Every night You can enjoy live piano music.
On the breakfast You eat with silver knives and forks. The quality of food is exceptional. Hotel is dog friendly and some dogs can help You to support the good mood.
Staff is very friendly, especialy the Russian speaking staff. They are ready to help with any problem.
The linen in the room are very good quality. The maids helped us even with the smallest size bathrobe for our 9 years old daughter.
