The hotel needs updating and renovation and not value for money

Really enjoyed staying in this hotel. It had a nice classic French style Chateau feel to it along with modern amenities such as comfortable beds, A/C and location.

Its hard to articulate how special and unique this experience was. Staying at Chateau Mei-Lese is like stepping back in time into the most charming beautiful hotel of days past. The views from the units are absolutely breathtaking and the grounds are stunning. The staff and proprietors are unbelievably nice and as a first time visitor to the area, they were all extremely helpful when we asked anything.
A few things to note:
1. This is an old chateau that is immaculately kept. The rooms are all beautifully furnished with antique style finishes. As I said before, it is like stepping back in time (in a wonderful way).
2. It is air conditioned
3. We did not use an elevator and we were on the 2nd floor and it was totally fine
4. Don't skip breakfast on the pool terrace. It is magically serene.
5. Highly advisable to rent a car when staying here. So much to see but we needed to drive to it.
This was a special experience and my family all loved it and would look forward to returning.

An absolute gem of a location, Frank and his lovely wife were very hospitable

We had a most pleasant stay at the Château de Mel-Lésé which is more like a nice home than a "château", but that does not matter. The interior of the place is old-fashioned French, but the bed was excellent, with a good bathroom (despite showering in the bathtub). All in line with the modest prices. Wonderful friendly staff and the most amazing views.

We had the best experience possible: first, the hosts are absolutely lovely, and it would be a pleasure to come back just to see them. Second, the view is amazing - you wake up with a beautiful view of the Mediterranean sea. Last but not least, the food was delicious and the service impeccable. A full on, perfect experience.

Really wonderful stay with the perfect hosts! Great location, close to village, beach and shops. The pool was superb and had it to ourselves most of the time.We will certainly be returning in the future.

Gorgeous and clean property, breathtaking views, attentive staff, 15m walk to either the town or the beach for restaurants and entertainment. If traveling from English speaking country, brush up on your French before staying here for best possible service as the language barrier was an issue for us. A few things to note: property gets very quiet past 9:00 and insulation between rooms isn’t the best, so be mindful of that and you’ll be fine. Also, no fridge in our room, restaurant wasn’t in service (possibly due to covid), and outside of breakfast reservations, no food or snacks offered to us on site. Minor things and all in all a great romantic place to stay if you’re more of the quiet type.

Great value. We got a lovely room with views over vineyards, hilly landscape, and the sea. Room were Covid clean and the staff all made it a very safe place to stay. Fantasic breakfast that we enjoyed on the nice terrace with view. We can highly recommed this place.

Well as per my check in review, the proprietor is a very nice man,he when out of his way to provide me on site parking
..as it was an over size vehicle, with an evening meal on both nights and a great spread for breakfast.
The room was spacious, very comfortable and so so quiet.
The view was spectacular! around the property
If im ever in that area again i most certainly will be saying there.
Thank you sir!

No visitor should be put through such hassle and stress on a holiday, especially for such an expensive accommodation.
Our newly renovated, more expensive attic room that we have reserved was wrongly given to another guest who had extended their stay. Instead of showing hospitality and genuine remorse, the owners insisted that the rooms are the same, though our original room was obviously the more expensive and better room.
A French chateau that has seen better days, it now only attracts elderly guests. WiFi was also weak in the attic room unless you go to the balcony.
Illumination was also non-existent at the gate if you return in the night, very much like returning to a spooky castle.

Place was just beautiful all throughout. Only few people spoke English, but we got by. We loved the landscaping and all the plants and flowers. The pool looked beautiful, though not heated. And have the breakfast coz it’s quiet a spread!

Lovely Chateau Hotel in picturesque setting, well tended gardens and eccentrically decorated rooms. Very comfortable bed and lovely high ceiling bedroom

It was overall a good stay. When you are travelling with a family you would appreciate a fridge to store some food for after the beach day. I understand there is a bar but not that useful for small children. The owners however were very helpful and nice. Also the Russian waitress is very friendly and attentive.

Nice hotel, but also a strange hotel. Check-in took 6 hours, guess only one person could handle this. Never wifi in the room, wifi in the reception worked from day 3.
Very nice clean rooms with great seaviews.

Overall it was a pretty place but staff and owners ruin it. Our room was spacious with a nice view but bathroom was outdated. Staff barely spoke English if any at all. We had prepaid for our stay through hotels.com but the owner charged my credit card for the full stay again at check-in until we proved that we had prepaid so he would credit back the double charge. At check-out we were asked again to pay for the stay (this time the wife of the owner) because she could not track the payment. Here we are on our honeymoon trying to look for receipts to show the owner that we paid because she couldn't find the copy in her records. By the time she calls her husband to explain to her that we had already paid for the stay, we had waisted 30 minutes for a simple task that in US takes only 10 seconds. On top of it all, the fact that she didn't speak English (with her only words being "need pay" "credit card") was making the experience more difficult than it needed to be.

The hotel is peace of paradise. The room had ocean view and the bed was very comfortable. The room was with high ceilings and quite spacious. The hotel gives a feeling of a family bed and breakfast. Very clean.
