Great location, friendly staff & great food.
3.0 / 5.0
Very friendly and helpful staff and wonderful bistro on ground floor. Bedrooms are a bit tired and rooms cramped with insufficient storage, bathrooms in particular need of an upgrade. Location is excellent, very short walk to the main chair lift, also near shops and restaurants. Only about 8 parking spaces on first come first served basis.

Right place for access to the pists , restaurants and other activities.
Rooms are very tight.
Staffs are friendly and helpful.
Lifts were working on and off.
Didn’t have enough towels for a family of four.
They provide ski lockers for free.
Parking lot is not easy always.

The restaurant is great with wonderful staff and great food. Breakfast is plentiful and has great options. The hotel would not qualify as a 3 star hotel in my opinion. Our room was a good size but could have used a good dusting. It was not even cleaned the day before our departure......No hand soap in the bathroom for the sink, towels are small and thin, no coffee maker.

We'd been in the south of France for a week or so and were driving back north, looking for somewhere to stop over and came across the town of La Clusaz.
The Hotel Christiania had reasonable reviews, was pet friendly, centrally located and seemed to have free parking.
When we arrived after a long drive, we could not find any available parking in the designated area which seemed very limited anyway. I pulled over and my wife went into the Reception area to ask where to park. She was left waiting for a long time, was then ignored whilst the member of staff chose to deal with another client who had arrived after her. She was then told there was no parking available and we'd have to use a public car park, but with no guidance on where this might be located.
We found the public car park which, in fact, was very nearby and made our way to check-in. From that point onwards, our stay went very well. The rude member of staff was no longer to be seen and everyone that dealt with us was extremely friendly and accommodating.
The accommodation itself is a little tired but clean and overall represented good value for money.
The location was great, near restaurants and bars and to the cable car, which we took to the top of the local summit for a beautiful walk with amazing scenery.
I think the hotel should be more clearly promoted with very limited parking. Given it's location, i imagine the vast majority of guests drive and there are nowhere near enough spaces available for that.

The hotel had a problem with our reservation and had to move us to a different hotel but they were very helpful in this and the holiday was great

No vegetarian options. A rundown hotel. Some staff excellent but others very poor.

The hotel brought a new meaning to the word “basic”. Our room was tiny: the bathroom was so small you couldn’t move around in it: the bed was old and lowand small: the towels were like crisps. The furniture was tired and old. The room lacked hooks and storage- vital for a skiing holiday. One third of the available spacce was taken up with a useless writing desk. There was no lounge as advertised. The hotel smelled of damp and decay. The only lift was too small to fit two people and two suitcases. The ski room wasn’t heated. There were no hooks in the ski lockers, or anywhere to leave ski boots (the receptionist suggested we dried our boots under the radiator in our room). We left after two days of a seven night stay.

The hotel is located at the center village and it’s very convenient. The room was nice clean, and the bistro downstairs is one of the best restaurants in town.

Nice hotel in a small town which we came across as we drove towards Italy. The rooms have a cabin-like smell and feel to it. Great view from the window/balcony. One of those hidden gems we would not have found if we were going only to the tourist areas.

Outdated hotel that needs maintenance. It smells from cigarette smoke. The cleaning was very poor. We found beer caps behind our door which was there during our entire stay. Stuff on the bathroom floor that was never cleaned. Room was extremely small but the location is great and the restaurant deserves 4 stars. Very friendly and helpful staff but the price we paid, 180 EUR per night, is not worth it. Ok breakfast but a lot of stuff was missing.

We stayed for two nights and the hotel was welcoming, the room cosy and clean. After supper in the village we tried to get a drink at the bar but this seemed a problem for the barman so we gave up. Breakfast was great with plenty of Fresh choices. All staff (barman aside) were very friendly and helpful.

Old, moldy bathroom and an unclean room. Shame as the restaurant and staff were lovely.

This was the worst budget hotel I have ever stayed in and yet also the most expensive. I booked for one night last minute so expected to pay over the odds but the hotel I stayed in for the rest of my trip (also booked last minute) was less than half the price but exponentially nicer.
The room was very small which was fine for the purpose but was made more cramped by a completely pointless desk with 2 chairs which would have been impossible to actually use (see pictures).
There was also only 1 plug sockets even though it was a double room, meaning 2 people wouldn’t even have been able to charge their phones at once let alone use any other appliances.
The decor was chipped and run down, there was mould and the room smelled very strongly of cleaning products which were still failing to mask a cheesy stale smell which I couldn’t have put up with longer than one night.
I couldn’t have the balcony doors open to air the room as the neighbours were smoking. Surely the balcony areas should be non smoking when they’re so close to other people’s bedrooms?
My tv didn’t initially work although, to their credit they did get someone to fix it.
I asked to change rooms because of the smell but they told me the hotel was fully booked. That’s fair enough but they were not at all apologetic, nor did they seem surprised to hear the room smelled unpleasant.
On the plus side the hotel location was great, room was clean and view from balcony was lovely.
Would not stay here again.

Really great stay. The public rooms are lovely, the bedrooms on the small and dated side but clean and fine for a 5 day skiing holiday. The wardrobes are so tall we had to stand on the chair to reach the shelves!

Very charming staff and well located in the centre of the town between the main ski lifts. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable.

Hotel can not be beaten for location in the heart of the village and a few steps away from the lift
Staff were not at all rude they just weren't very welcoming either
Rooms are small as expected in France we had a balcony with a partial view of slopes
Room far too hot and tiny toilet shower room stank of drains for the entire stay very over powering smell
Nice bar and restaurant
Walls are wafer thin which meant we had 5 very poor nights sleep
First 2 nights chil screaming and crying plus noise from street
Next 3 nights kept awake by a party each night
No night porter or staff to advise
I know the exchange rate is poor but €15 for breakfast of bread cereal yogurt croissants and coffee is a bit steep
Ok hotel we just had a poor experience
2.0 / 5.0
The hotel is well-located, close to the ski lifts and within walking distance of a good selection of good bars and restaurants.
The rooms are basic, but if you're on a ski trip, you don't plan to spend your day indoors, so they tick all the necessary boxes.
The hotel is located in the middle of town and at around 5am, the garbage trucks and chatty workers arrive. It can be quite noisy and quite a few in our group struggled to sleep through.
