Beautiful hotel, front desk attendants very helpful. Had a nice table and chairs inside our room but no dresser and a tiny closet. This is quite common in Latin America, so, no surprise there.
Not fancy inside the rooms but very beautiful grounds, landscape.
The restaurant was not impressive, actually below average.
However, there's a burger place a block away, Ben's Hamburguesas. The burgers are amazing! They also have beer and milk shakes. It is family owned and operated, ingredients very fresh.
The hotel is not at the center, if you don't mind walking, it is about 10 blocks from the park, you can catch the chicken bus or tuk tuks at one street over, not right in front of the hotel. Ask the driver if the bus goes to the center of Antigua, since it may not, same on the way back, ask if it goes to Calvario. Round trip on chicken bus is 78 cents. Can't beat that!
Also, ladies, do not bring high heels to Antigua. You won't be able to walk! All streets and most sidewalks are cobblestone.

The hotel is very nice, beautiful gardens. Something that made such a difference is that they gave us the room when we got to the hotel early before the check in time, and we were able to rest from a long trip to Antigua before lunch.
The only negative experience this time was that the pool was not climarized the whole weekend. We are used to take a swim to relax when we visit this hotel and this made our visit somewhat uncomfortable.
As a recommendation, complimentary bottled water is safer to a jar of filtered water. At this price point for a room this is expected.
Staff people was very friendly and attentive.

The hotel is located a little far from the city center which is great because the surroundings are not crowded and quiet. Beautiful gardens and warm pool resembling an old fountain.
Free private parking with security inside the hotel which is not very common in Antigua Guatemala, you can go out partying or dinner with your car and return late at night without any worries.
We arrived at the hotel long before the check-in time and the clerk managed to give us a room mediately, amazing service.
The breakfast was included, it was delicious and served quickly.
The only n native thing I can say about the stay is that the rooms are not well sound proofed between them, the people talking in the room next to us (both sides) can be heard clearly at late night, and the people walking in the room above waked up us very early in the morning. This is something sadly very common in these type of hotels.
There is a nice Italian restaurant right next to the hotel, where you can eat or drink at the bar. A few steps from the hotel there is the "El Calvario" catholic church, in the afternoon you can grab a bite of local food.

The hotel is on a street semi protected by security, so pretty safe. The amenities are very nice, great breakfast and beautiful garden and views. I forgot an item in the room and they were very helpful about mailing it to me. Highly recommend

The hotel itself was very quaint and colonial. Very pretty. The rooms could be a little more updated. For the triple room the third bed was a futon (not very comfortable!). No air conditioning or fan. The way the hotel is set up is beautiful. It is made to look like a mini colonial town. The pool was nice. The restaurant food was good. It is a bit withdrawn from the city center, so you have to walk a ways or get a taxi to go to the main area of Antigua. You would think this would make it very quiet, but there was a busy street right behind the hotel. The hotel is very safe. Parking was great, in closed and safe.

We stayed here for one night prior to going back to the United States and we had an incredible time. The rooms were very comfortable, staff was accommodating, and location was perfect for us. We were also here during Holy Week and this was the perfect spot close enough to all the festivities but distant enough from all the noise. We will definitely choose to stay here again when visiting Antigua in the future.

Nice grounds around. Room needs toiletries. There’s liquid soap dispenser on the wall. A little far from Central Park (walking distance). No A/C. Gets hot during the day. Bring your mosquito repellent.
Nice breakfast included. For the price, it’s ok.

The property is really nice. Old colonial feel great for photos. Only issue i have is that my room did not have an air conditioner and the Included breakfast sucked.. Besides that it was cool.

We nice hotel with a nice restaurant overlooking at the nice garden. The rooms are quiet and very clean. The only issue was that the king bed we got was very firm almost too firm and a little uncomfortable. All the staff was extremely courteous and nice.

You can barely walk the main streets of Panajachel for the milling throngs of drunken people and with automobiles and Tuk Tuks weaving their way through them. Blasting music half the night like a unending frat party. The hotels raise their rates for Easter week and then tag on an exorbitant inflated 31% tax as a final kiss good by.
Panajachel has taken on all the worst features of the Mexican border towns to the United States back in the sixties. It was Tijuana or Nogalas all over again...
I visited this quiet Lake Atitlan village six years ago and came back to find the worst kind of tourist trap...
Never again

The tour group we were with stayed at this hotel in Antigua on the last night of the tour. We planned to extend our stay in that city after the rest of the group left so we had booked 2 extra nights at this hotel thru Hotels.com. We thought it just be easier staying there than moving to a different hotel closer to the center of town. The buildings and grounds of the Villa Colonial are very pretty, however the rooms need updating. The tub in the bathroom (Room 73) had a lot of rust spots. Everything worked, but the room just seemed outdated and a bit tired. No free bottles of water in the room. The hot water was turned off when we tried to take a bath but the reception desk did send someone promptly and the fix was just flipping a circuit breaker down a set of stairs. Free WiFi was available in the lobby and there was cable TV in the room. Our room was on the second floor and had a large porch extending across several rooms. Our room had 2 standard size beds. The main disadvantage of staying there was the distance from the central plaza and almost no shops or restaurants within several blocks. We ate one breakfast with the group in the restaurant and had dinner at the hotel one night. Service was excellent and the food tasty if a bit pricier than many in town restaurants. It is an easy walk into town, just realize that this hotel is not centrally located should you decide to stay there. We had been to Antigua 5 years before and stayed at a posada 2 blocks from the Plaza.
