Amazing stay, hotel was brilliant and service outstanding

Stayed for 3 nights 19-22 June in this lovely hotel in an ideal situation - just 10 minutes walk from the lake in Lazise and all the restaurants. We stayed in a lovely large room with very comfortable bed and choice of pillows and spacious bathroom. All very clean. After walking by the lake in the morning in the heat, it was lovely to then come back to the hotel and relax by the lovely pool, with no concerns about getting sunbeds. Towels were provided. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast delicious. We would return if visiting Lake Garda again.

Conveniently close to the charming fortified village of Lazise with all its restaurants and only a couple of minutes drive from the amusement parks.
We stayed a little off season so didn't take advantage of the garden with its inviting pool but did indeed enjoy the plentiful breakfast.

We had a family suite here and really enjoyed our stay. The pool, with its small sandy beach, was excellent for young children, and the garden was well-maintained. Staff were very helpful: stored our luggage, made taxi reservations, replied promptly to email enquiries. Our suite was spacious, cool, clean, safe, and had everything we needed; its decor was home-like/simple, rather than luxurious, but that was fine, since who wants to spend their holiday keeping toddlers off the white linen sofa and priceless glass sculpture? The one impractical aspect of the suite was its lack of bath, especially as the shower didnt have a door and the bathroom floor was quite slippery.Although the hotel backed on to a fairly busy road, the interior was calm and quiet. The location was great; so many of the hotels we looked at prior to booking said they were in Lazise, but were actually a long way from the old town. Palazzo della Scala was very close to the castle and, even with a 3-year-old, we had no problem walking everywhere. There was a playground nearby, and it was ten minutes walk to the beach or the harbour. Two local restaurants were very good -- Pepe Nero, practically next door, and Botticellis, just inside the southern city gate -- as was Classique, further down on the waterfront. The hotels breakfast buffet was great quality, with a wide range of fresh food.We thought Lazise was a beautiful, relaxing place for a family holiday, and Palazzo della Scala was an ideal base.

Great location, awesome pool, but sadly very poor attitude of front desk and management. It is not possible to accommodate every guest request. However, permission to extend our check out by a couple of hours to 12:00 midday having only arrived at 5pm the night before was dismissed abruptly. Additionally, on two occasions the staff on the front desk attempted to pass to me the wrong passports they had taken for administrative reasons. This is simply unacceptable in an era of identity fraud, not to mention the consequences if we had inadvertently left with someone else's passport. Our room, a suite, was poorly appointed and over priced.

Stayed for 4 nights in the hotel although didnt spend much time in the room. Was an overall good experience and would recommend to someone looking in this area around Lake Garda. We really benefited from the location being good for walking to and from the restaurants and lake as well as the small convenience store just next door! Also the bus stop isnt far away which will get you to most places further afield.Service in the hotel was good and there was always someone there to ask for help. It was a bit frustrating however when we arrived back at the end of each day to find spare requested towels by the door.Other things to note about this hotel which we were a bit misled about due to the wrong information on Expedia:There is no secure storage for luggage other than leaving it by reception. Expedia said the room had a double bed although the hotels own site stated king size, when we arrived we were surprised to find two singles stuck together! Might not be a problem for most, unless you take your own king size bedding like we did... Also we didnt have a coffee maker, sofa bed or a balcony. The last because we were on the ground floor but nevertheless the site states all rooms have these. But dont let the above put you off, the rooms were clean and had good air conditioning, the TV I think had 2 channels in English and the included breakfast was great if you like warm milk on your cereal!
