Vivienne was very helpful and full of information! The house is lovely and right on the bus line to take you to the major attractions (and hop on hop off busses). It’s even walkable. The room was small, but functional, as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh!

Our host, Vivienne, was phenomenal! The Sherwood house is a beautiful property and obviously well cared for. The bed was comfortable and we had a large bathroom in our room. There is a bus stop just a few feet from the property. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful guest house well driven by Vivienne, her nice owner :) Hurry to book your visit of the Castle ... additionnally, Holyrood Palace is also a must see. Take Lothian day tickets. On our side, we used the Moon app. to have a taxi to and from the airport.

Nice and quiet accommodation. Clean room, excellent breakfast. Vivienne, the owner, was friendly and helpful. Good beds and sheets. Bus stop next to the hotel, with good access to the city centre (Royal Mile). Bus to city centre in 10 min and walk in 20 min.

Our family of 3 stayed at the Sherwood Inn for 2 nights. It was perfect! Breakfast was delicious. It was our 3 year olds favorite meal of the day both days in Edinburgh. The room was very comfortable for the 3 of us with very high ceilings and a nice en suite. I hope we find ourselves with more time in Edinburgh again sometime and we will definitely be staying here again. Thank you, Vivienne!

This is a fantastic place to stay. I read all of the 5 star reviews and they are absolutely true, I can definitely recommend staying here. Vivienne is a really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful host and we felt so welcomed from the moment we arrived. It's in a perfect position to explore Edinburgh and the local pubs are brilliant for food and drinks. It's a really comfortable guest house and the breakfast is perfect to start the day. I can really recommend staying at Sherwood Guest House and I would certainly book again.

Vivienne was an amazing host and her place was exactly as advertised. She made recommendations the entire trip and we took her up on every one of them and it absolutely made our trip. Highly recommend her place to anyone. My son forgot his toy there and she even drove it to the airport for us so he didn’t leave it behind. Incredible woman

Had a wonderful stay at Sherwood Guest House. Spotlessly clean and bright room, breakfast was perfect, host was amazing, helpful and loads of local knowledge and it was easy walking distance to attractions or the bus right on the doorstep. Highly recommended.

My sister and I stayed two nights at Sherwood Guest House, and we were so happy with our stay! The owner was very nice and very welcoming, and when our flight was delayed she was very helpful regarding our check in. The room was so nice and cozy and the bathroom and shower was very well functioning. The room was also very spacious and clean. The breakfast had a pretty big selection and we enjoyed it. Overall we had a very great stay and we would definitely recommend staying here. We will without a doubt be back!

We loved our stay at the Sherwood Guest House. The proprietor, Vivienne, was absolutely delightful and made sure everything was just right. She gave us helpful recommendations for dining and sightseeing, and the breakfasts she provided were just lovely. We would definitely stay there again.

The breakfast was delicious and a great start to the day. the room was comfortable and clean and a perfect resting spot after sightseeing all day in beautiful Edinburgh. we had a lovely warm welcome by vivienne who is helpful friendly great room with shower plenty of tea and coffee good locaton plenty of buses taking you to citiy centre and places of interest. Would recommend taking a tour bus as you get a feel for the city and location of places to see and visit, lots of places to eat plenty of shops the royal mile prince street and lots more

I cannot say enough nice things about Vivienne and her wonderful guest house. The bedrooms are terrific, as are the breakfasts and the hospitality. You'll want for nothing -- she's already considered what you need. There's a reason this place has such high marks -- Vivienne. We had an issue that required a lot of special attention, and she was brilliant. She's running a first-class establishment, and she is hard-wired to be a guest house owner. Plus, you won't meet a friendlier human. Everything about Sherwood Guest House has it on our list of places we will stay again. Thank you, Vivienne!

If your in Edinburgh this is the place to stay. Vivian The owner n host is full of joy and great information about her city. She set us on a perfect path of things to see. The inn is immaculate, updated and decorated beautifully. The breakfast room and food were delicious and had everything you needed. Highly recommended and if I’m back in Edinburgh. That’s where I’ll stay
