Town centre close and very pretty - The bed was clean and confortable - no air con , threadbare carpets , no parking as advertised,
Repeated noise and trouble in the street outside from before midnight until 3.45 in the morning / if it had been possible to have left we would have done so .
Not the best choice we have made

The hotel is nestled in the old town, down a narrow side street and parking is opposite the hotel behind some big automatically controlled gates. Check-in was quick and easy.
The hotel retains a lot of the original features of the property, which means that nothing is vertical or flat (and it almost catapults you back in time).
Room 1 was spacious, with a 4-poster bed, bedside drawers, large table, 5 period chairs, wooden chest, large wardrobe and large stone fireplace. It also had an old walk-in wardrobe, separate toilet and bathroom.
The toilet and bathroom were very modern, with double wash basins and double size shower.
Continental breakfast was simple and very nice with a good selection of meats and cheeses as well as bread, croissants and various jams. Fruit juices and hot drinks were also available.
Being located in the Old Town it was very easy to stroll to the bars, restaurants, market, shops and churches.

Rather disappointed with the 2 rooms on the second floor. Very tired decor and basic furniture. Toilet area very narrow and the shower took ages to warm up then it was too hot and wouldn't cool down. Stair areas quite scruffy with several carpet stains. Breakfast was quite good. Very well located for the town centre and a nice looking building. Secure parking was much appreciated.

The location of this hotel is amazing, in the heart of the old town with easy access to restaurants and sights. Pierre at the front desk was incredibly helpful.

This hotel is fabulous we loved it, very charming 17thc. Really nice breakfast and lovely staff right in the heart of Troyes

A gem of a hotel - great character and super location.
4.1
Marvellous medieval building making the hotel quirky and interesting. Superb location in the heart of the old town. Melanie a fantastic member of staff who helped with our parking arrangements. Would visit again.

It would be better if coffee machine and fridge is provided in room.
4.1
Old fashioned style of Hotel in the centre of the city. Classic timber frame construction. Great to see these older properties being reused rather than the new style of box Hotel on the outskirts. Secure parking important with a classic car. Great staff spoke excellent English. Good Breakfast is available for a great start to a day.

Location is fantastic as is secure parking

Great breakfast!

All good thank you, quiet easy evening stay in the heart of the old town with everything walkable.
Says 2 stay but all you need really 😊

Don’t let the scores distract you. This is at the cheaper end of the market for sure, but in value for money terms it should rank very highly. It’s a bit wonky, creaky and wobbly but it’s in a 500 year old building so what do you expect!! It is two minutes walk from the bustling restaurant scene and another five from the Cathedral. Melanie in reception was very pleasant and helpful. If you’re thinking of saving money and not having their breakfast (€11) think again - we ate out and found Paul’s who charged €8 approx for a small coffee, juice and pastry - stick with the hotel for a buffet and fill your boots (though not literally).

We had an excellent stay and with an excellent service. Fantastic location, a bit difficult for parking as we did not reserve in advance.
we recommend it if you do not look for a place too fancy.
Excellent welcome by a bright, polite and efficient young team!
4.1
Lovely old building but refurbished cheaply. Uneven floors and the laminate flooring in our room was cracked because of that. Staff were mostly pleasant. Perfectly placed for walking around the historical centre. Would have liked a kettle!
4.1
This hotel is batting well above a two star rating. Room 1 was spacious and had a large four poster bed. Superb en suite with double sinks and shower. Breakfast was very good French style. There is car parking secure opposite but there is a public car park around the corner if you can’t get in. It’s on a side road to the man street and was a little noisy but the double glazing fixed that.

Loved the history, location etc. but Expedia didn’t give us opportunity to book parking and we ended up two blocks away. There is no a/c and the fan was broken told we would get one in 5 min but never did. We had to ask for breakfast items to be filled up. Loved the place and city.

Hotel is a beautiful old and quirky building in central Troyes. Reception staff were friendly and efficient. On-site parking was full but we found on-street parking nearby.
The room was very hot at night even though we were provided with two fans, so sleep quality was not good.

The hotel cancelled my booking

Pretty run down hotel. Nothing like the details on website

Lovely old property. Would have liked aircon but historic property, so perhaps not in keeping. Friendly and helpful staff. Very central within historic old quarter.

Worst hotel ever. Dirty and unkempt. Top floor. Floor tilted.

We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times but twice on this trip. The apartment on the way out was great - modern and clean with an on-suit shower room in one of the rooms. Unfortunately on the way back I booked what I thought would be an upgraded option, a three room self contained family room, as it looked by the pictures to be part of the main hotel. This wasn't the case, it was in the same block as the apartment, it smelled of damp and only had one small bathroom between the 3 rooms. Parking is always a nightmare here but they do try their best to accommodate you if they can. Breakfast is odd but provided you just want a continental breakfast its fine.

Great little hotel in Troyes. Great staff and great location. Would stay again.

lovey hotel in centre of old Troyes. Rooms are a good size and spotless - everything is a bit quirky but then it isn't expensive and it is a good standard for what you pay. The breakfast is really good - local cheeses, confiture, hot breakfast, nice full sized croissants - whatever you want.
4.1
The overworked staff were wonderful, and that is really the only good thing I can say about this hotel. Come on Brit Hotel Group - this wonderful building is so in need of some TLC not only in the reception area and dining rooms but, for example, basics such as a hand towel rail in room 43 would be good. I stayed in hostels 40 years ago that had better facilities.
4.1
We were in an annexe to the main hotel across the road and as such it did not have the character of the main medieval building. The room was comfortable, but the floor could have done with a good clean with a mop. However, in summary, it's a great and convenient place to stay, with a lot of charm, and we could not fault the service - the team were very friendly and helpful. Covid-19 safety was eaten seriously, and arrangements for breakfast hygienic with orders taken the night before and placed individually on your table having been served up in the kitchen and brought out covered in clingfilm.
4.1
Not clean at all. Furniture was falling apart in the room. Bathtub still had suds in it.

Just passing through your beautiful city. Hotel staff most helpful. Secure car parking for €7 was a big plus. We had. Asked for two single beds and they gave us two singles PLUS a double. Great value hotel in the old town. Shall definitely return.

Typical old french style hotel. Very cozy ambiente. Good breakfast for 10 Euro and very nice personal. If you want experience french flair then it is the right choice to go. In the center of Troyes and all important places can be reached by walking (restaurants, shops, museum and churches). Paid parking in the hotel for 6 Euro per day. Troyes is worth visiting.

Fantastic very old, quirky hotel in the centre of town.

It was in the center of Troyes and very convenient. The hotel staff was awesome. I recommend this hotel . It’s very roomy
4.1
The medieval look made the hotel special in it's own way, specially the dining room. The staff were very cheerful and friendly and helped any way they could. As with most French hotels the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms is a drawback but it's the only "suggestion/hint" I can offer.

We were in a room across the street called the Annex and although clean, it was very tired. It needed paint to cover the water stains on the ceiling and paint on walls where you could tell a larger mirror had hung. The thing that bothered me the most was that the toilet flusher was fixed with silver duct tape and you could tell it had been there a very long time. Great location, friendly staff, good price, and good breakfast, but the room was the low point of an otherwise charming visit to Troyes. I scoured the reviews and photos before booking and thought it would be okay. Perhaps the Annex rooms are older and have not been renovated.
4.1
Expectation didn't meet reality - the pictures of the room we booked for a special birthday break to Troyes reflected a lovely queen bed with a wrought iron four poster style frame around. The reality was a drab room with a plain double bed overlooking a car park.
The location however, was superb and the breakfast was more than the average European fare of cold cuts and pastries.

very spacious apartment and amazing location in the city centre. option to buy a breakfast which was delicious!!!!! top marks! would recommend!
4.1
fabulous location, right in the town centre with the opportunity of private parking. nice and clean apartment with helpful staff. beautiful and very tasty continental breakfast. would recommend!

Our arrival was superb. Busy city streets and concerned we’d have nowhere to park, then we arrive and the manager is out front expecting us and parks us in his safe off road garage.
4.1
Lovely quirky old hotel in a great location. Parking was a real plus. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was excellent. We will definitely return here.

Clean room; reasonable breakfast; good location; hotel has limited parking you can book for an extra fee but this is not clear on website so we had to park further away. Perfectly ok but nothing special.
