The ambience was lovely, sitting in big comfortable chairs or sofas in front of a fire that was kept replenished with firewood all day and night. The setting is gorgeous. This was the most relaxing part of our trip. I could have stayed much longer. The staff went the extra mile to be helpful. The owner (operator) was most gracious.

Wonderful cozy old style inn. The place is beautiful but the warm friendly and very accommodating staff make the experience excellent.

Very enjoyable. Restaurant and lobby got a bit warm in the day.

We had a great stay at the Dalvay. The smell of the wood burning fireplaces greets you when you walk into the hotel. If you are looking to experience the charm of yesteryear this is the place for you.

There were so many cozy areas situated around the woodburning fireplaces. The staff was excepionally friendly and helpful. This grand hotel is very old and it felt like stepping back in time to stay there. It was in a great location from which to explore PEI.

Beautiful Property

A return visit to Dalvay after many years proved you can’t go home again. Expecting a 4-5 star experience we were greeted with a third floor cold and drafty room (albeit with a view of the lake) and with a bed that the biggest bear must have slept in, and that left me clinging to the side lest I fall into the middle. My husband was greeted with a cold shower wake up after his golf round which he hasn’t needed in a while. Things were remedied to some extent by the intrepid Nettie who should be canonized and by Spencer who was efficient and solicitous. Housecoats would be a welcome addition as well as steps into the claw foot tub showers ( not for the faint of heart!!) The fires are warm the prices are high and the beach is beautiful

Wonderful property. Room was quite cold.

Loved our stay in this older mansion. Wood burning fires were a nice edition. Staff was very attentive and affable.

The property is divine! The food is fabulous....every single dish! The servers, front desk personnel and management were all lovely...a special mention to David, Vickie and Nicole. I was made to feel like family. Loved the proximity to the water with miles of red sandy beach.
Would return in a heartbeat! ❤️ Jody.

It’s getting tired and rundown. Looks great from a distance, but needs a total refurbishment

Delicious food. Oh the mussels were so yummy!! and the seafood chowder. Our room was lovely, with a view of the lake (and lots of Canada geese!). Lots of comfy sitting spaces indoors and out. The staff were all very well trained and made us feel really welcome

1. The cabin was great and very clean. Exceeded my expectation.
2. The restaurant... Over prices, marginal food and poor service.
3. Billing... Staff poorly trained. Could not give me a copy of my incidentals and billed me for charges I did not incur.
4. Suggestions.. Train your staff better and fire your chef.

David managed to upgrade us to a cabin to accommodate allergy sensitivity. Were mere steps away from main building. Very private and quaint.
Staff in dining room were very friendly and meal didn’t disappoint.
Not much of anything else near the property as it is located within a Provincial Park.

This hotel may not be for everyone as it is Historical. There are no elevators or modern rooms and washrooms. There is also no TV or clocks on site. It is a great place to stay. Rooms are large. All of the staff will go the extra to ensure you are happy. On-site restaurant is reasonably priced with great food. We would definitely stay heard again

Very nice place, unique old charm and right by the sea, close to national park trails and the staff were awesome
Would definitely stay again.

Best stay we have ever had anywhere!!! Staff, history and facilities were at the top of the list. We were treated like a king and queen while staying there!!! This place has a very special place in our hearts and look forward to returning there very soon!!!

I loved the roaring fireplaces. The proximity to the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The dining experience. Friendliness of the staff.

The property has old world charm and most of the staff, particularly diningroom staff, was friendly and accommodating.
There was no sound suppression between rooms. Our room needed some attention by the maintenance and cleaning staff such as dust and debris behind the furniture and the drapes couldn't be closed properly.
When checking out, we were not asked how our stay was. We saw two members of upper manager without masks in the lobby and library breakfast area while the guests and staff were required to be masked.
We do want to emphasize that the diningroom staff was friendly and accommodating.

This was the first time I not asked about my stay at checkout. The hotel is not really guest centric. Closing the restaurant without informing guests is another example. This is important as the location is in the middle of nowhere. A heads up would have been appreciated. Rooms are very tiny and dark.

Nice place and the personnel were simply just perfect. However, we were very disapointed that the owners and personnel were not wearing masks at all in this period of COVID.
This is a shame.

This beautiful 1895 Inn is a beautiful walk in history. The staff are amazing. Food was fantastic. The provincial beach is the best on the island.

We stayed for two nights, and our first evening dinner was fantastic! Both the food and service was incredible. Unfortunately, it was all downhill from there. The service at breakfast the next morning was terrible. It was so bad that the table behind us left after waiting 40 minutes for their food, which only showed after they left. Later that day, we ordered a charcuterie board, and it came without any crackers or napkins.
Don't bother getting a room with a 'view'. Our view was only accessible via a tiny window, which had a noisy portable AC unit attached.
The front lawn is covered in goose feces, so you cannot sit and enjoy the view there either.
Overall, a very disappointing experience. We will not be back.

The property is a very well maintained site of historic interest. It is located in a national park so there are many points of ecologic importance nearby. The guest experience is unique.

Enjoyed our stay and the old world charm at the Dalvay.

The hotel staff were very friendly, the room was clean, the atmosphere of the hotel was perfect for a couple’s get away, the food in the restaurant was delicious and the location by the bike trail and beach was great. The hotel is having a bit of a challenge with geese on the property but they did not bother us while we were there.

Historic place with a great ambience and a superb restaurant. Great surroundings, too.

This is a beautiful Inn by the beautiful beach. Loved the room with our view of the raging water. Loved the friendly staff that were always accommodating with giving a blanket, putting a log on the fire or making a drink in a special way just for me!!! Would defiantly go back.

Beautiful historic property. Amazing wood work. Cozy fireplaces. Awesome food

Easy access to beach, unique old fashion living experience. We had to kill 2 bugs in the room!

What a serene lovely place to stay! My husband and I were celebrating our 25th anniversary and just loved it there! Across the street from. The ocean, a view on the lake property were breathtaking! Great place to walk or just relax on the chairs outside with our glass of wine! Staff couldn’t have been more welcoming or friendly! Thanks so much for a lovely time there! JMMW

Friendly, clean, cozy!

Wonderful atmosphere and the staff was friendly and helpful. The lounges were very relaxing with magnificent fireplaces. The dining room was well appointed although the flies were annoying. The meals were a bit overpriced for the quality. Overall, although the room was small, it was very clean and the bed comfortable. Would definitely return again but would probably eat elsewhere.
