Be prepared for no elevator and tipping a bellhop to carry your luggage up the stairs. No modern conveniences in the room and WiFi was spotty. NO TV. Two beds, a desk and two chairs. No air conditioning but a fan was provided. Only six hangers in the closet. People over six feet will have to bend over to take a shower. Windows too high for a 5' 5" person to see out of. Public spaces classy but what you would expect for a 110 year old lodge. Two nice but expensive restaurants and the ambience was nice. The deck off the Great Hall was welcoming and a great place to relax. In front of the huge fireplace was a good place to take a nap, as we saw many people doing so. The sky bridge was always busy during the evening with people playing games.

We loved the nostalgia of the lodge and appreciated the customer service by the Bellman and the front desk. The room was very scarce , No chairs to sit on no couch and the room was large enough to accommodate it for the price that we . The space had absolutely no amenities.

Hotel architecture is great

It’s a 100 old hotel no AC. You can open the window for fresh air. I love the ambience of the hotel.

Even though the property is a Historical site that's 150 years old it was very very nice.

The hotel is very close to two medicine entrance. There are restaurant, coffee shop, and gift shop inside the hotel. Very convenient. The room is space. The bathroom in my room is on a raised level. So just need to be careful to watch my steps to using bathroom.

A fantastic historical time capsule. The activist and gardens on the property were fantastic. The restaurant was amazing for dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed the common spaces and the entire lodge. What a treat. The shower was a little small and charging outlets were limited, a small inconvenience against the rest of the amazing amenities.

Rooms were so hot in august on 3rd floor we couldnt sleep. They had a fan, but were out of extension cords so didnt help. For coffee had to stand in long line at shop and they overcharged us every time. If it was cooler would have been fine. No elevator, but they dont tell you that. There was a man with oxygen staying on 3rd floor?! So many little things they could fix to make it comfortable at $300 a night. Would not recommend

Had a death in the family and had to cancel our trip. The cancellation was several days past the deadline so was hoping for an exception to your policy. Was denied and charged the full reservation for the room. Very disappointed.

The hotel is over 100 years old and had no AC and NO Elevators to get to 2nd & 3rd floor room and very limited number of first floor rooms. rooms were very small and shower was very small, like telephone booth small. Dinner was pricey and service slow but it was nice to experience and breakfast buffet at 6:30 am was excellent. Parking is down a long hill from hotel entrance and a steep walk to bring car up to leave property or move car after check in. We used Sun Tours for our East Glacier full day tour and they picked up and dropped off at front door. Highly recommend taking a guided tour. I would stay again due to how beautiful it was inside and nightly live music.

The lodge common areas were unique and awesome. Our room had soggy bathroom floor and rat poop behind the bed table! And there was an animal in either the ceiling or walls that was chewing constantly. I think I heard him finally chew through because I heard him scampering in the attic.
Food was good. Water pressure was excellent with plenty of hot water. And don’t put older people in the basement! The beds were comfortable.
Cleaning ladies need to do a more complete job of cleaning the bathrooms in the common areas. We love the lodge and will come back again and hope we get a cleaner room with a non spongy bath floor.

Lovely old hotel. Room was very nice except for miniscule shower. I could not even turn around in it. Historical tour was very informative. Gorgeous grounds and hotel. No elevator though and we were put on the 3rd floor. All employees were very nice. Still trying to figure out what the tunnel was at the hotel.

This is beautiful old lodge but lacked amenities. We were on the third floor without an elevator which is a problem for two people in thieir 70s. Our room did not have a tv or air conditioning and the bathroom had old linoleum that was worn out which would be a simple upgrade. Not an expensive place to stay either.

I loved this charming rustic lodge. It had everything we needed there. There were mountain views and yard games to play. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. At check in Kathy was very nice and Adam the bellhop was super helpful and kind. We would stay there again.

Booked two nights under two different reservations and they could not accommodate allowing us to stay in the same room. We had to switch rooms. Staff upon original check in was not to friendly. But most other staff we encountered had been friendly.

Very noisy, bathrooms are small - shower is stand up & very small. Sink was old ‘ very small—had to put toiletries on back of commode. No way a large person could fit in the shower - and our room was supposed to be a mobility room even though we didn’t need it. Could hear everything neighbors were saying or doing. Every step squeaks & very loud walking & talking. Good in restaurant very expensive - 35 & up

A lovely old property that makes you feel like you've gone back in time. The restaurant was good and there were many outdoor activities available.

Location is great for exploring Glacier National Park. There is no elevator and we had a room on the 3rd floor so we carried our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. ( you can have a bellman do it but we did not want to wait). At the top our room was very warm and there is no A/C. There was a box fan which we positioned into the window to blow air into the room. But it took awhile to cool. We had difficulty sleeping because walls are very thin and lady next door was talking loudly on her phone. Plus she had a baby which cried several times during the night waking us up. We happened to be staying there on Native American weekend so the hotel/restaurant sold no alcohol—you had to go in to Glacier park to purchase it. Which is fine but it would have been nice to notify guests prior to their visit of the situation. East glacier is very remote so we could have planned ahead. We were on vacation and enjoy a glass of wine with dinner.. Bottom line— East Glacier lodge is a vintage lodge with a great location and beautiful grounds but short on amenities

A classic lodge built 100+ years ago by the Great Northern Railroad, it is a very cool experience. It's basically in the middle of nowhere, and most arrive here via Amtrak (the station is 150 yards from the front door).
However, what you should know is that it's kinda pricey (food, shuttles, room) with not many (if any) amenities for the almost $300/night rate. We lugged our bags up 2 flights of stairs to our 3rd floor room (there are no elevators). Our room had the world's smallest shower in a bathroom that made a cruise ship's bathroom feel cavernous. There is no a/c, but the room came with a box fan and an open window (with screen). Unfortunately, the placement of the outlet meant that the fan couldn't be placed within 4 feet of the window. In cooler months, it won't be an issue, but this is mid-July.
The food was just ok, but over-priced. The quality of the food on the $22 breakfast buffet was sub-par...ok assortment, just not great quality.
The beer was GREAT! $7.50 pints of local craft brews that were tasty and even a bargain!
The service was friendly, always. Especially the bellmen :-)
Let's face it...you're here to see the park, which is STUNNING!
I don't think there's any better options, especially if you are on East Glacier with no car.

The lodge is absolutely majestic. The history it holds and the views are stunning. The rooms and bathrooms are small, but you’re not there to hangout in your room. There are plenty of places around the property to do that. Shuttles are available to take you into the GNP so you don’t have to worry about driving and parking.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lodge. First the lodge is gorgeous. It offers places to sit and enjoy the scenery either in the lobby or outside on its expansive porches. The staff was knowledgeable on the national park.

I would have given 5 stars across the board if there was an elevator, I stayed on the 3rd floor. There was no AC but the box fan made it comfortable.
Great old time lodge with a massive lobby.

I loved the history of the place and the area

The common areas in the hotel were nice and the outside was beautiful with lots of outdoor activities. The rooms have no AC and the box fan in the room doesn’t fit in the window so the room remained above 75 degrees until after 2 am. The bed was decent. We did not eat during our stay and cannot comment on the food. Overall decent stay near Two Medicine area of Glacier.

Excellent view of the mountains. Was given a third floor room with no air conditioning.

The check in experience was disappointing. The young woman that checked us in seemed uninterested and just handed us our keys and told us where the room was. I asked if there was anything we should know about the lodge or if there was a map and she kind of looked at me funny and said “no”. The other lodges in the park tell you about dining options, times areas in the hotel are open, etc. She provided none of that.
Upon checkout I stood waiting to check out at the desk while a different woman totally ignored me. She was helping some other staff members but could have acknowledged that I was even there as I was the only guest waiting.
I will say the bellhop was fantastic. He noticed I had been standing there a while and was so pleasant. He told me where to drop my keys, etc. (which could have been explained upon check in). I saw him working very hard throughout our stay.

I like old lodge’s character.
