Great staff and friendly environment. They can improve on their food selections and upkeep of their rooms. Overall it’s a great resort and would recommend it to family members and friends.

I loved the vibe and the amenities available for families. The kids pool area was super cute and our room was very spacious and we enjoyed the touches like beach bag and beach toys that were provided for the children. I liked the daily activities and also liked the central location of the resort for when we did off site excursions. Overall good experience

We loved our stay! The room accommodated our family of 5. The wildlife was fun to see each day and the beach/ocean was a beautiful turquoise blue. We enjoyed trying all the restaurants for dinner. Amazing trip!

We arrived 9:40 pm because our flight was delayed. Our check in took 45 mins (the longest check in time for me) we had 3 kids with us that were tired and hungry. The check out was about 20 mins. The receptionists in both occasions were unfriendly and unwelcoming. Was charged two extra fees

The availability of food and drinks for the price was quiet good. Transportation is a bit pricy and some of the other expenses are too but over all a wonderful time.

My family traveled to Princess Family Club Riviera in July 2024. Upon arrival, the lobby looks very nice but if you are staying at the “exclusive” family club you will need to check in downstairs in their own reception deck which only has one receptionist at all times to handle all matters. The room wasn’t terrible, they did provide beach toys for each kid and slippers… but our mini fridge and AC in the room did not cool well. The food at the buffet was fine but you will need to get lucky in order to each at one of their restaurants as their reservations get booked up quickly. The adult pools size were decent… but would’ve liked cleaner pool and pool-side area, especially considering the amount of coatis running around digging for food. Entertainment was poor. The entertainment crew played the same 2 games everyday for few minutes, and the same 3 zumba songs. At night, they did have silent party and singers but that’s about it. As for the kids… what a disappointment! The “water park” is actually three little water slides most suitable for a 3 year old. My 8 year old was so over it within the first 15 minutes. The kids club is 1 small space with a few old toys and gaming options. Ice cream parlor and kids buffet also very over-rated. Customer service was OK, we encountered some staff that were friendly and willing to help, and then others including the general manager who listened but with a careless affect and no resolution to issues.

This resort is huge, and the staff do not provide you with instructions of where to go. The resort has golf cars but for a resort so huge, they should have more cars to move people around. There is only one elavator. The place has a dirty stanked water. It’s supposed to be all inclusive but they charge for internet, or better quality food, they have cheap liquor. Their main purpose is to sell you excursions. The entertainment choices are very poor. The big pool is at the end of the resort, you have to walk for a while. I give this place 3 starts. Do not go for the reviews that say it’s an excellent place. I don’t know why people will say that. This place customer service is extremely poor. Check in is at 3pm but the rooms are never ready and after traveling for hours, you still have to wait for your room. I will never recommend or visit this resort ever again.

This place ruined our family vacation! How can you possibly take a reception area seriously when it feels like walking into a Chuck E. Cheese with no games. First during check in they try to give you the room past 3:00pm. I had to be adamant that check in is @3 in order to get my room key. They gave it to me @3:12. They do this to everyone so be prepared. The staff didn’t give me a map or any instructions so I had to figure everything out this place on my own. There are cockroaches everywhere it’s disgusting. The rooms smell like sewage. Mind you I went with family members and we each had 4 rooms in total with the same experience. The food is AWFUL. I have never eaten tasteless food. Don’t even bother reserving for a restaurant as it’s always full. The staff are rude and don’t recognize you at all. The staff who hosted the silent party were the rudest human beings ever. The main pool looks nice but once you’re in it you feel dirty and the tiles are breaking so you think you’re stepping on glass. The “aquatic park” is more like a splash pad. The beach is ugly .. it was black. I asked the staff why it was so dark and he said the water that comes from the hotel goes there. I asked if the beach was even safe and he said some people get allergic reactions. It was terrible, terrible, terrible. I’ve been to many resorts and this by far is the worst place I’ve ever stepped foot in.

We lost 3 days of our vacation due to the hurricane. Granted the staff can’t predict or change the weather, but things could’ve been managed so much differently.

We stayed for seven days at the family club, pool access which means your on the ground floor in a row of rooms connected to a shared pool. You'll be a few meters away from a small drink stand and on the other side is essentially a kids pavilion with a splash pad, an indoor games area and a dedicated kids food area. Our kids (about 10y) loved it.
Rooms: are nice but these are not 5 star rooms. The size is, the decor more or less is what you'd expect at a decent hotel, comfortable king sized bed and the kids had their bunk beds which they loved.
Downsides: rooms are stale when you walk in, nearly everyone we talked to either complained about stale air or moved rooms and realized the next room smelled the same. We had to open our door for two days, it's a bit mildewy/dusty but beware when you open your doors, mexican racoons are going to try to get in keep watch. Our bathroom smelled the entire time, the level of cleaning was helpful but not 5 star.
Grounds and food: grounds are beautiful, beach is beautiful, pools are wonderful, bars are perfect, the grounds are absolutely massive lots of exploring to do. People are great, lots of activities. You can tell the people that work there care.
The bad part: the buffets are just ok. Lack variety. We craved real chocolate by the time we left, it seemed like that just doesn't exist in any cake, cookie, etc ice cream is not actually ice cream it's some kind of water/cream concoction you'd find in a ice cream truck.

The Hotel is okay, they gave us a room with 2 beds and a sofa for 5 people when we paid extra for the deluxe room that was supposed to have bunk beds. We paid extra when we checked in for the platinum bracelet but the truth is it's not worth it. There are only 1-2 waiters around the pools. The food is not very good, they do not have much selection and all restaurants have extra charges. We took our 3 children and they were very bored because there were almost no events for children... the kids club etc .. they are more for younger kids. The beach is very dirty and ugly. The rooms are far from the pools and the beach. There are some animals called coati, at first it was nice to see them but then it became a headache, these animals steal your food, drinks and if you leave chips or your personal things on the chairs they open the chips or take things that attract them . Another thing is that there are too many mosquitoes, normally we don't care but these mosquitoes bite you a lot! I recommend you bring repellent. And another thing, alcohol is horrible. The beer is bad and they only have 3 selections!

Overall, it's a good hotel with a lot of activities and shows. The kids' area is so cool, and the night show is a must. My kids had fun, especially when they saw a couple of wild animals like deer, iguana, and raccoon. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. My only complaint is that everything we tried to do is overpriced and there are no options.

Food was ok but not great, uncomfortable beds

We just came back from Princess Family Club Riviera in Cancun and ABSOLUTELY loved it! You have access to the whole hotel which is pretty big with 5 restaurants in addition to the three buffets. The family room comes with a big bed and a bunk bed for the kids. Has a curtain to separate parents section from kids when it’s time to sleep. The room comes with sand toys for the beach. The water park that’s included is perfect for kids. The water is shallow so the kids were able to be in there by themselves (3 year old and 5 year old) while my husband and I got to lounge around. There’s a waiter that comes with for drink orders as well. Wild life everywhere in the resort. We saw lots of coaties, deers, raccoon, iguanas. The beach has a bar- we rarely saw waiters walking around to place orders for drinks at the beach but it wasn’t a big deal. The shows were amazing! We went every evening.
Only minus was the room didn’t have cabinets but there was a closet.
It was truly one of the best vacations we’ve had!

We loved the multiple dinner options at the a la carte restaurants, the hotel grounds, and most of all the service provided by the staff which was the best we have ever experienced. The app to make dinner reservations was user friendly and there was hardly any waits for the buffett or the bars. Margarita and Mateo were the best at the Family Club pool bar, Rodrigo who we never met but constantly called to know how our stay was going and if there was anything we needed, Fausto at the Riviera buffet, Fernando at Las Olas, and David at La Fondue. Our only concern or reason for not giving the hotel 5 stars is due to the low setting of the AC at all restaurants, it is centrally controlled and it is hot which makes it uncomfortable enough to enjoy a meal. The food is average, but it is a buffet so it was expected. Also, we had to call to have a few things fixed in the room but they fixed things right away which is a big plus. The beds were not as comfortable, but after a long day in the sun it didn't keep us from a good night. Overall, we would return and do so because of the service; however the premises are more of a 4 star.

My family of 5 which includes 3 young kids stayed at the princess 6 days. There are some pros and cons
PROS- for a family of 5 many hotels cant accommodate in one toom. The 3 bunk beds were perfect for us
- the shows were fun and entertaining
- we loved all the animals on property
CONS-the food at the buffets was not good and we ate at Taco stand most meals
- the kids club was basic with not much to do and the staff spent most their time giggling amongst themselves

We went for 5 nights and the first night the AC wouldn’t cool the room down. After going back and forth and wasting time trying to resolve the issue, they moved us to another room. The room felt warm, but they said give it sometime and the AC would cool it down. It was night time so we figured we would give it a shut. The AC never cooled the room down. The third day, I spoke with the manager who put us in a smaller room without bunk beds ( which we had and paid for in the first room for our 2 kids, the AC worked so I figured we would just deal with the sleeping situation as long as we have a working AC. The manger promised he would give us some compensation for the first 2 nights, when I asked, what? he said they would comp us at one of the restaurants. I told him we have all the food we want since we booked an all inclusive resort, but he said that’s all they could give us. I declined his offer and elected to share my experience here. I short, we had a bad experience at this place, I think the facility needs some updates since a bunch of their rooms didn’t have a good working AC.

It was a great option for a family of five with kids seven and under I loved that it was all inclusive and a lot of activities for the kids. Kids are small to do major activities so this was the best option for us while still enjoying the beach. Hotel provided Beach toys, and other amenities that saved space in our luggage. Restaurant food was very enjoyable and late night activities and shows for the kids were also fun.

We are at the family club princess right now and I am shocked how much this place has changed. We were here 5 years ago and it was a wonderful resort but now it has definitely gotten down hill. We are here with 2 kids, age 11 and 12 and we got the family club. What a waste of money. The only thing you get for the money that I spent to be in this club is access to the ice cream shop, the baby pool and the horrible pirate buffet. The food is really awful. They charge extra for shrimp. I understand charging extra for lobster but not shrimp. My husband likes to drink don julio tequila and now they charge extra for that which they never used to do before. The beach is a long drive but we knew that when we visited 5 years ago but they are short staffed so you can get a golf cart shuttle every 10 min or walk about 15 minutes in the heat. As far as the beach, make sure you are there at 6am to reserve the front row or else you get a seat in the back. Not sure why they allow soliciting, you have someone literally coming up to you every 5 seconds asking you to buy something. So don’t expect to relax on the beach. The seaweed is awful but that’s everywhere right now and they do have 1 truck that seems like it only cleans the vip area. There are lots of rocks when you get in the water but once you pass that area, the water is amazing. I would not come back here and I don’t recommend this place.

My mom room and my room was hot the entire stay and we wasn’t put in another room. The did come to fix the AC but it was still hot. We called several times and nothing was done. The food was a 7 and the overall stay was a 5 because we didn’t even get information about the resort when we checked in. We had to figure everything out ourselves.

Overall, this hotel resort was nice and fun for the kids. My only complaints are that the food was mediocre at best And we had an unfortunate case of bugs in our kids bed. The staff appeared to take it seriously, and we moved to another room. After getting to A new room at 1 AM and our kids asleep we were told by the staff the company and hotel did not find bedbugs. They did not offer us a report or findings of other bugs, such as ants, etc.. The staff were talking in Spanish, which we obviously did not understand what they were saying. My daughter had bites on her legs, and we were not given peace of mind that the bugs that we saw with our own eyes and created the bites. All my daughter’s legs were not bedbugs. I would’ve been happy with the service. They provided a report telling us what the exterminator determined the bugs to be. Ie ants, Mexican critters, etc I will not be going back to this resort
