Nice hotel, great location, nice room.
Didnt quite live up to what we expected. Decor needs touching up here & there. Staff mostly pleasant, although breakfast waitress could do with a personality transplant!
Temperature in the hotel/room was too warm!! Had to open both bedroom windows (end Oct), but road noise too loud. Had to sleep with noisy fan on.
Shower too complicated, thermostat too hot, water scalding hot.
Wasnt warned about sliding bathroom door, which leaves a gap either side, didnt really give you privacy when using the loo!

This was our first stay at the hotel and chose it as the most appropriate for our needs from the hotels.com site.
The hotel was comfortable, clean, tastefully decorated with a good breakfast included in the price.
All in all a good stay and would stay again.
4.3
A pleasant hotel with nice location by the canal with easy access and short walk into town. Pleasant, helpful staff and a good restaurant on site but also many food choices nearby.
Only problem is no proper lift and the lift for disabled access / luggage is in need of some maintenance with only one person at a time allowed and rather slow, noisy and creaky
4.3
Great location for station and canal

We were in room 10, up 4 flights of filthy stairs, carpet looked as it it hadn't been cleaned this year and some stairs had no lighting. Evening meal was a disaster everything we chose they didn't have staff said it was because of a busy bank holiday but the had a whole day to restock we only wanted steaks!! Cooked breakfast was served cold and the bacon was like cardboard I was asked if i would like sauce asked for brown but it never materialised. It's been quite a while since we stayed here but from this experience we won't be coming back.

Booked 30mins before checkin. Everything was ready when we arrived. Had a really nice room with 4 poster. Special mention for Bella who served us breakfast. Lovely young lady, respectfully chatty and fantastic service.
4.3
All the staff were brilliant the breakfast is top notch as is the restaurant "Rhubarb" rooms are decent size and thr hotel is very dog friendly.

Great Hotel, great location, staff and food excellent.
4.3
Lovely hotel. Staff great. And only a 5 min walk from hotel down the canal into the center of skipton.
4.3
Wonderful stay. Hotel very well maintained. All staff very approachable and helpful. And the breakfast was fabulous!
4.3
Nice hotel and good position . Ready for a lick of paint in areas . Room was small and bathroom wasn’t very private . Breakfast was ok but certain bits of it were over cooked . Fresh orange would have been good
4.3
Very welcoming hotel, convenient for them and the canal, comfortable rooms and lovely staff.
4.3
Great couple of night spent here for a wedding nearby. Brilliant service, good location for a short walk into the town, the canal is also right next to it which was a nice walk. Would definitely recommend & definitely book again.
4.3
Lovely stay, clean , friendly helpful staff and tasty food.
Close to train station and easy
Walking distance to town . Dog friendly which our dog loved and chilled
4.3
quickly and efficiently checked in, lift to room on floor 1 slow but efficient, gr8 room with light and space, huge modern bathroom, but tv slow and complicated. no noise night or day from outside or inside. super convenient for town and station with canal towpath behind hotel and train immediately opposite- thoroughly recommended
4.3
Came for a one night getaway to have afternoon tea on a canal boat trip also walk along canal.
4.3
Beware: no lift to the top floor!

This is a good hotel where they have evidently gone to a lot of expense with the rooms. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious. It was however very hot, and we were unable to remedy this easily as there was not heating on, and opening the windows resulted in a lot of traffic noise. Consequently I didn't get a great nights' sleep, but many other people possibly wouldn't be bothered by it. No doubt there are many other rooms without that small problem. The location is otherwise great for central Skipton, it's easy to find and there is plenty of parking, which is a great help. We didn't have dinner there but breakfast was very nice.
4.3
Midland room very noisy only single glazed and it was on a busy road, also only a bath which was very inconvenient as my wife has arthritic knees.
4.3
Nothing was to much trouble from any of the staff
4.3
This is a old hotel but the staff and service is very good I would recommend it very central to all amenities
4.3
enjoyed our stay, would stay again

Came here for a weekend away!!
Staff were so lovely and helpful and had the bed and breakfast option, food was lovely ,especially eggs benedict. The town is a small walk away and has great shops and a beautiful walk around the castle, We had such a lovely time!
4.3
Dated but comfortable hotel
4.3
Our stay was eccellant
4.3
Property has too many stairs
There is a lift on the other side of the building, but it is not advertised
4.3
Comfortable family hotel on the edge of the dales. We were given rooms in the annex where the lift was out of order the whole stay and the roof was leaking on the stairwell will white mould on the carpet.
The room was comfortable enough and the breakfast was very good.
4.3
A lovely hotel in a fab setting.
The room was amazing (Wharfe) and the breakfast was tasty with a wide range of cereals, cooked and pastries.
4.3
Staff are extremely helpful and friendly.
4.3
Positives:
Location is good.
Staff helpful and friendly.
Breakfast is good.
Negatives:
The cleanliness of the room and common areas was not up to standards. See attached picture of condensation on paint work. We found hair not belonging to us in shower.
In addition, the room has paper thin walls and you can hear everything next door.
The hotel has a potentially beautiful view of the canal from the landing window however you can’t see a thing as the windows are so dirty and covered in insects.
All in all, highly disappointing stay. It appears to be more style over substance and even that could be improved with a paint job.
4.3
Comfortable stay, breakfast was very good had an evening meal glad we had a starter, potions small and very expensive.
4.3
Easy check in , safe & easy & free self park, nice building lots of character & fantastic canal side location, easy walk to town & local attractions, plenty of bars/restaurants nearby, Morrisons supermarket very close & across the road from railway station… comfortable bed good nights sleep, minimal noise, good breakfast included… only slight negatives were …. Our room was quite hot despite being early autumn but the windows did open & wifi in our room was unusable due to slow lagging speeds & constantly dropping out but maybe better in other rooms… overall a great choice for staying in the lovely town of Skipton
4.3
Check in easy, staff polite and friendly, young lady in restaurant thursday 21st sept eve was an asset so helpful and polite ( sorry i didnt get your name). Room comfy and clean, loved looking out at the barges.
4.3
Excellent hotel and the staff were all lovely and pleasant. convenient for public transport and easy to access other towns by car. Leeds and Liverpool canal running along the back of the hotel with a large park on the other side. It was very pleasant to take short walk along the canal to the town with plenty of dog walkers on the way
4.3
A most enjoyable stay. We would have preferred a more varied dinner menu. We were a bit irritated about having to pay for everything as we ordered it rather than charging items to our room and settling up when we checked out which is the norm for other hotels. We thought the whole breakfast event was first class. All of the staff were outstanding.
4.3
Staff was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again.
4.3
The staff were extremely friendly
The hotel was clean and tidy
The food was lovely
We recommend staying here to everyone
4.3
For 140 pounds a night the accommodation and breakfast was a total disgusting ripoff and i suggest you remove it from your site.
4.3
Nice outside space, excellent bathroom, comfy nights sleep, blinds in the bedroom and bathroom need attention. Good breakfast.
4.3
Nice hotel in the centre of skipton
