Modern hotel with nice vibe conveniently located in Asbury Park a short walk from the boardwalk. Good food options. Friendly staff. Could use more device plug-in options in the room.

Extremely clean hotel. Originally I was given a room that had a sulfur smell and overlooked a rooftop, which was not attractive at all. I named the smell and they upgraded me and moved me to a larger room with a nice view, which was excellent. I recommend a king size over a queen. Everything else was lovely with the exception of slightly musty smelling blankets. They didn’t smell dirty, although they looked spotless. Could have been an older pillow?

Our stay at the Asbury could not have been any better. Right from the moment we were greeted at the reception counter till we left we were treated like royalty. Hotel staff went above and beyond. We were traveling with our 15 year old puppy that I now believe he thinks the hotel is his!!! Can't wait until our next trip to the Asbury Hotel. This will be my go to hotel from now on when heading to the Jersey Shore.....

Ac filter in room needs to be cleaned. Construction next door starts at 8 am. Loved the heated pool

Absolutely brilliant in every way

Good location. Good condition. Good 24 - hour gym. Would be nice if they offered their nice guests free parking. We say this because such as with any shore town which only has a few months out of the year to make their money, The City Of Asbury Park is always trying to think of more innovative ways to suck the money out of your wallet, via alleged traffic and parking violations. A secured private area adjacent to this hotel for parking purposes would alleviate that devil .

Amazing hotel with fun heated pool! Love the full moon parties!

The I was really excited to book this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The valet at the door was wonderfully polite and I was thrilled that we were able to check in early.
The hotel lobby was beautiful but once we got to the room it went downhill. The room was very dingy with stained floors that needed to be cleaned and vacuumed. We also did not get the roll-a-way bed that was offered as an amenity online and requested at the time of our reservation. When I brought it up, the first response I got was it was against fire code to have a rollaway in the room. I pushed a little harder and got them to bring an air mattress, but they made it clear it was an exception so keep this in mind if you are counting on it!
Whether the air conditioner was on or off, the room remained incredibly humid and smelled musty.
When we checked out the following morning, no one was at the desk and someone from the cafe eventually came out and got the associate from the back room. She did not speak to us at all, just took our keys and said we would be charged an additional $40 resort fee.

Pros: Beautiful updated building, fun and trendy extras, friendly valets
Cons: Outrageously small rooms for the price, expensive valet parking, some unhelpful front desk staff

The hotel was right on the ocean with beautiful views of the boardwalk.

Terrible. No hot water when we checked in and the worst part (besides the overinflated price) was the air conditioner that was so loud we had to turn it off. No parking and a $6 coffee in the morning. Spend your money elsewhere.

Disappointing all around.
Check in time is late (4PM) while the check out time is standard (11AM). My room was almost $600/night and I was surprised that it did NOT include free parking ($50.00 if you want an overnight pass) or breakfast (you can buy coffee and snacks). I went to ask the hotel for a parking pass, was told it would be $50.00 and went back to a $50.00 parking ticket (was gone 5 min).
My friend stayed at the Holiday Inn Express with free parking, breakfast, and even I got a free cookie just visiting them. I thought that was standard for hotels, but not the Asbury.
The room was tiny, not the cleanest, and a bit worn. The bed was a bit lumpy. They had water bottles but no coffee or tea in the room. The bathroom was clean and looked nice but the water pressure for the shower was not great.
There's a rooftop bar. I asked the cleaning staff where it was and they did not know - maybe because it is in a separate building. When we found it, the drinks were really weak/not good.
There was a wedding that weekend, so it would be randomly crowded as they were in the lobby quite a bit.
On the positive side, the location is central for Asbury Park and the pool has a bar that serves really great frozen drinks. That one drink was the only highlight of the stay for me.

The perfect place for a few days getaway,

The rooms were very small and terribly expensive. The Jersey shore is unspectacular.

The hotel was very clean and modern and in a safe neighborhood. Very close to the beach and boardwalk and within walking distance of town. The kids loved the pool! Our room wasn’t ready by 4:00 was my only complaint and the line for a cup of expensive coffee was very long in the morning with limited staff at the snack bar/restaurant. They should have complimentary coffee available at the price point of the hotel. Overall a great experience. Rooftop bar looked fun and would love to come back to visit that some day along with Stone Pony which was within walking distance also!

Perfect location in the middle of town. Walkable to everything!

The Asbury was centrally located to the boardwalk and beach.
The hotel itself had a fun, urban vibe.
Pool was nice as was the rooftop bar.
The only downside is the $50 per day parking fee.

The Asbury Hotel is a great place to stay in Asbury Park with incredibly friendly staff. The pool is great. The lobby is always festive with a good bar, pool table and plenty of space. The lobby also has 24/7 snacks and drinks and good food during the day.

It was a perfect get away for one day. Everything was great. We can’t wait to go back again. Next time we are going for a weekend. Also great restaurants on the boardwalk.

Beautiful Hotel with a roof top bar with views. Live music at night. Love the vibe of this hotel.
The only complaint was not having an outlet on both sides of the room by both beds. Would stay here again!!!!

It was a great experience

This was a fun hotel to experience, but there were consistently other guests outside of the front door smoking pot while we were there. This was not conducive to a family atmosphere that we wanted to have.

Easy walk to the beach

Amenities are non-existent…the gym is in an inconvenient area and very isolated. There should be a coffee maker in the rooms. There was 50-50 chance of getting the room serviced daily. Also, I didn’t appreciate the huge dogs allowed in this hotel.

It's our 5th year vacationing at The Asbury. It's pet friendly and while our room was ok, the hallway stank of urine. This wasn't an issue in the past but this trip. Nasty.
1.5
The place is fantastic. However, (a) you are charged a resource fee, when the hotel does not provide access to the beach nor chairs there, which you need to pay for if you want to go (the fee is only for the pool); (b) the room has white blinds but no dark courtain, so the light comes in very early; and (c) there is no coffee maker in the room, while this is a staple of many hotels. Yet, the room has a record player (do you really need that in a hotel room?)
This said, the staff were excellent and always helpful, no smile spared.

I never leave reviews but…..The staff and customer support staff were unprofessional and rude. Wanted to stay another night and was told sold out without even verifying. Found they did have a few on Experian. Then they looked.

Can’t say enough about the property, the room, and the staff! I would come back to the Asbury Hotel in a heartbeat!

My husband and I stayed here on our wedding night and the night before in June 2024. We are local but wanted to not worry about getting home after drinking. We didn’t get married here but we love hanging out at the bars at the Asbury, so we had our after party in the lobby bar, Soundbooth. Great spot for an after party. Room was super clean with nice toiletries. Pool is awesome. Convenient and walkable to all of Asbury Park. We would recommend.

The hotel has a great vibe and everyone who works there is very pleasant and helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable! The lobby was fun to just hang out in, with all of the games, nooks, live entertainment, old records, and overall retro vibe. The pool is great too! Plenty of seating, mix of sunny and shady places, clean and comfortable pool, and drink/food service too! This was definitely worth the price! I was there for a midweek stay and the hotel, as well as Asbury Park itself, was so nice and accessible. The weekends get super crowded, and there’s of course tons to do, but the hotel made being there midweek still feel like there was much going on. It’s just two easy blocks from the beach, which was also clean and well maintained.

I liked the cleanliness and the rooftop bar very much. I did not care for the layout and size of the room.
