Everything was good!!

the people were very helpful (I sent my suitcase to the hotel a few days before my arrival and the hotel staff took great care of it)

Very strange rooms with no natural light (no windows, only wood panels) and very expensive for what it is. The restaurant of the hotel is particularly bad, very expensive and all the food I was served was over cooked and dry (dry rice, dry grilled fish, dried up pancetta in my carbonatará etc.), they really need a better chef. Mosquitoes everywhere.
I also saw a cricket walk through my room.

It was a very good stay. Hotel is of high quality. Very clean, staff was very helpful. Restaurant was also good quality. The area is quiet and there is an echological parke nearby.
Access to transportation was through Uber. Service was prompt and courteous. The only proble I had was the remote for the airconditioning that was too old, but it worked fine when I could see the controls and screen.

I want to love this place. We stayed here last year and had a wonderful experience but this time around unfortunately it wasn’t quite as positive. Our room had no hot water, the sinks were clogged, the TV gets less than 10 channels, and the room I paid for was not what I received. Lastly, our key card never worked and had to call staff every time we needed to get into our room. Staff was unapologetic with every problem. If you have foreign money, than it’s probably a bargain but if you pay in reais you are getting overcharged, but Belem unfortunately is an expensive city when it really shouldn’t be. The area around the hotel is notoriously dangerous after sunset that the staff didn’t recommend we walk less than a block to eat at a restaurant near by for fear of muggings, even though it’s adjacent to a naval base!! I’ve lived in Brazil for many years, am a citizen… I get it, but make an entry in the back of the hotel to make it easier to access the Mangal das garças so your patrons don’t have to feel sketched out walking that creepy 300 feet to get there. I don’t know… simple things. Other than that, the hotel is absolutely stunning in beauty. Reminiscent of the Cloisters museum in NYC (I’m originally a New Yorker) and the breakfast is top notch. Also, you get a free massage. Mine was great but my wife woke up with more pain in her back. Like I say, I really want to love this place, but small improvements would make it compete with some of the best hotels in the world.

Fantastic choice, although I chose it on a fluke because I don't know the area but the photos were impressive. In addition, the hotel is part of the cidade velha (the old city). Management and staff were very helpful all along. The restaurant is one of the best in town, so much so that in the weekend people from outside stream in just for dinner. Great breakfast and a sweet swimming pool to refresh yourself from the scorching sun. Also, it's around the corner from the Mangal das Garças Zoo-botanic Park, a gem! For me, it was a delight to walk from the Hydroviario docks, through Portão das Docas, the Ver-o-peso market, and march across the square with Belem's iconic clock. From the cathedral you can walk down Rua Dr. Assis to the hotel in 15 minutes.

Excellent hotel. The staff are wonderful and they all understand English, the restaurant was very good as well! It’s a beautiful hotel with nice swimming pool set in a colonial location.
I highly recommend it!! Thank you Italo at reception - great service 😀

I was in room 107; it had no wifi connection; reception staff just shrugged; the room smelled moldy; the towels and sheets smelled nasty as well. I learned a new word in Portuguese: chule (with accent on last letter). Worst of all Sunday evening there was a nearby "show" and out outside my ground floor window I experienced drunken brawls and urination on the hotel walls. I slept poorly until police finally disperse the crowd at 0130.

The hotel is very nice in certain areas that have been remodeled. In the areas that have not, it was dirty. Also, I was given a dirty plate, knife and fork when I asked for an extra. There was also two issues with the rooms. The first room did not have working A/C and TV. The second room had mold in the bathroom, broken windows and dirty overall. With that said, I notified the staff and was given rooms that were what is expected.

The hotel was very nice. Great restaurant also. Friendly staff. Our room was the smallest and no view, this was all that was available when I booked it. But while we were there I saw the bigger rooms were empty! So I don't know what was with that. Also I noticed the other rooms had chocolates on their beds, but ours didn't :(

Very good looking hotel with touch of old days. Good food and drinks. Perfect location if yku don't care about cars and peaple on the street. Walking distans to nice natural park.

An amazing historical property.. it has everything you want and elegance but in a laid-back atmosphere. Very nice friendly staff.. the stakes in the restaurants are to die for. Don't pass up a chance to stay here if you come to Belem.

The room was really nice: big, clean and in good condition. The neighborhood was a bit sketchy and loud. We visited just before Christmas and there was a religious event that took place in the atrium of the hotel. The choir was placed directly in front of our room door and there was a big crowd watching it, which made the use of the room a very awkward at the time.

The hotel has potential. Staff are friendly, but they can speak barely English (common in Brazil). The rooms are all organised around the patio, which is the common area, but aren't noise-proof. I found a few hair in my linen. The water in the shower wasn't flowing out. Breakfast was excellent.

The hotel is quite beautiful, a restored historical building with beautiful courtyards and a decent but small pool, the restaurant is pretty good and the whole place has a nice / colonial / amazonian feel. I think it´s probably the best hotel in Belem - although the competition isn´t very strong! Rooms are large and clean, if a little dated.
