Lovely building in spacious grounds. Easy access from the AWPR and plenty parking.
Room was clean and comfortable with coffee, tea, milk, water and a small fridge. The bed was amazingly comfortable - like sleeping on a cloud!
4.0
Generally a nice hotel but disappointing in a few areas.
Breakfast and dinner were good. The grounds are pretty and well maintained.
Be aware there is a large construction site next door to the hotel. While we were there the banging, drilling and trucks started at 07:00 and went on until after 17:30. It was a hot few days, but we couldn’t have the window open because of the noise.
The room was a bit dated with a fairly random collection of furniture and styles ranging from the early 90s to the mid 2000’s. It would benefit from a refurb / redesign of the rooms.
The bathroom had dangerously hot water and be careful not to touch the towel rail! The black mould on the tile grout in the bath was disappointing.
Overall it was fine, but just a bit tired.

Wonderful hotel with an impeccable staff. They went out of their way to make our visit wonderful.

Excellent grounds, room, dining and service.

Have stayed here below. The hotel is a little out of the centre but has large grounds with deer roaming free. The rooms like the whole place are old world classic but luxurious. Very comfortable and surprisingly quiet even though there was a corporate party elsewhere in the building we didn't hear a thing during the night.
The other big highlight is the restaurant and the bar. Dinner isn't cheap but the food is delicious and the breakfast is great too. If you want a high end, old world hotel in Aberdeen this is a great choice

The property was amazing with beautiful gardens everywhere you looked. Sparkling rooms and outstanding staff. Best dinner and breakfast on our entire trip. Definitely worth going back!

Beautiful hotel. Nice and peaceful.
Literally the only issue - they have cheap instant coffee in the hotel room. Maybe it’s a UK thing but Nescafé instant coffee is garbage and not what I’d expect to see offered at a 5 star hotel.

Absolutely beautiful!

Service here is incredible. Well-staffed, experienced, attentive-- the highlight of the stay. Setting is Scottish suburban and visited in the off-season so didn't get a sense of the grounds. Food and beverage had a formality that were worth the trip.

We were given one key - placed in a slot to keep electrics on: Fine, until one of us wanted to leave and return to the room. The room was lovely and the bathroom spacious. However, it was cold and the heater inoperative. I slept with socks on too. The towel rail was nice and hot.
The ceiling light at the door didn't work and bedside lights shaded and so far from bed that reading not at all easy.
In the morning the room was cold and the towel rail also. Neither was operable by me.
There was a small amount of black mould behind the bath taps. Altogether not great. Shame really cos it could be fabulous .

Amazing. Quality with everything is outstanding. Food is top notch. Only small note is the dog friendly. Yes, you can bring a dog but only to the one room type (which was nice enough), and dogs are not allowed in the bar, only in the lobby. That was a bit of a disappointment but the whole overall stay was brilliant

Great stay in a lovely hotel! Food at dinner was fab too.

Hotel was nice but room not 5 star been in better rooms at 4 star hotels spa was fully booked and unable to order tea and cake in bar in afternoon as they did not offer that as not on the menu? Private party in suite next to my room which was very noisy I did complain but nothing done apart from offer to take 2 drinks off the bill when checking out. Food was ok but again not 5 star I won’t be rushing back to this hotel anytime soon

Stay was ok but was promised an upgrade when I booked it. They told me that was not available most dissapointing. Also milk was off in the bedroom and got a fly in my melon

Room very comfortable and had everything we needed. Excellent breakfast served in the morning. We had dinner one of the evenings as well and it was delicious. Highly recommend the marcliffe. Gym small but adequate.
Cleanliness can be improved but also challenging in a big hotel.

The hotel and facilities were very good, but the staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful, making it exceptionally welcoming.

We had a lovely stay and our meal was nice. The staff were all really nice and helpful, however the service in the restaurant was very slow and we had long waits in between each course. Whilst it is nice to see the food being cooked from scratch, we were right next to the pass and it did not feel very relaxed being so close to the hustle and bustle while we wondered if each plate being prepared would at last be ours!

Attended an event at the hotel and then stayed the night. Room was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful.
Plenty of choice in the bar and not silly prices.
Breakfast was excellent, as were the views.
