We stayed for two nights at ELaiolithos and it was a highlight of our time in Greece. From the photos on this site, you can see that the location is stunning in the mountains of Naxos but what you can’t see is the incredible hospitality provided by Helen and her team to make you feel welcomed and like you are experiencing a bit of real life in Naxos through the food and suggestions she offers you. We also appreciated the queer-friendly hotel and staff.
Our suite was comfortable, well-appointed and luxurious.
We chose ELaiolithos because we wanted to stay at a hotel which was situated well for hiking and exploring the villages of Naxos. Helen, the owner, provided great suggestions on where to hike and what to see during our days there. I recommend the hike through olive and citrus groves and many villages in the area.
Another highlight was the food! The restaurant has plenty of options for vegans, vegetarians, and gluten-free diets and these dishes were never lacking in anything or didn’t feel like they were a substitution — they were fully thought out, purposefully vegan meals which were some of the best we had in Greece. The locally-focused menu was really special and let us try the flavourful herbs, cheeses, yogurt, and vegetables from around the island.
I’d highly recommend ELaiolithos for a relaxing getaway with great access to hiking, interesting villages, great food, and incredible hospitality. Thank you, Helen!

ELaiolithos has the owner Helen’s stamp all over it. Helen and Pamela were very welcoming and provided us great local food including homemade jams and smoothies, Greek yogurt, salads with local cheese, and really tasty cocktails. They made sure we were never hungry! The atmosphere is very intimate and we chatted with the staff and other guests throughout our stay. Helen also gave us lots of tips on where to go and what to do nearby and throughout Naxos. There’s good hiking nearby the property - throughout the valley where Helen’s brother’s sheeps graze for more easygoing hiking or to Mount Zas a short drive away for more challenging hiking. The staff has lots of attention to detail and helps tailor your stay. They brought fresh melon to our room after our more strenuous hike and offered us a complimentary massage.
We divided our stay in Naxos into two parts - 2 nights at ELaiolithos and 2 nights closer to the beach. I’d strongly recommend this. Although beaches are accessible from ELaiolithos, probably 30 min drive, we really enjoyed exploring the inland part of Naxos - the mountains, villages (Chalki, Filoti, Apeiranthos), and local food and culture.
Thanks for the great stay!

Early 40’s couple travelling from Canada. We found ourselves at El Aiolithos after touring the Turkey and Egypt and the resort was a very welcome site indeed. We did 2 nights but should have done more. Property is stunning and intimate. Loved the room, the view, the setting. Very unique place with lots of personal touches. Breakfast was a highlight - and the restaurant as a whole is true farm to table as everything is sourced within a few km. Pool was great. Real mountain village vibes. Owner, Helen and her staff were fabulous hosts.
To note - We did not have a car but thanks to Helen being so accommodating and helping us to get around we managed but you will probably want to rent a car if staying up in the mountains. All I can say is book it - you won’t be disappointed.

My wife and I stayed at ELaiolithos for our honeymoon, and quite simply, could not have been happier with our experience. I could write a short story about our time there, but I will keep it as brief as possible for those of you interested in booking there....just do it!
The location itself is brilliantly nestled in the mountains of Naxos, and has a tremendous view of the mountains and valleys of the island. Ample hiking opportunities are located close by, as are charming towns and villages to be explored. For those interested in spending most of your days at the beach, they are less than a 20 minute drive I would say from the hotel.
The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and well furnished. There are little details throughout that show there was a lot of care in it's construction. The outside terrace area is where we spent most of our time, and it's not to be missed.
Most importantly though, we were just so delighted with the care and service of the staff. Most especially the owner Helen, who treated us as you would treat a family member. She went above and beyond out expectations in every way. It made our trip to Naxos, and our honeymoon, a special time we will never forget.

This is probably the best hotel in Naxos!! Amazing facility, amazing owner, amazing location... Just amazing. I have been travelling a lot over the last thirty years and staying in hundreds of hotels for business and pleasure... and this hotel has been amongst the best of all. If you find a room grab it, as it usually booked, and you will remember your stay for ever.

We found this resort online to stay one night in between hikes in Naxos. It was way beyond our expectations! Eleni is an effusive Greek American who has poured her heart into building this luxury resort in the middle of the island. The suites are all home away from home, the breakfast was one of the best we had in Greece. A heavenly setting from which one can hike, walk or just relax and enjoy the surroundings. Eleni was exceptionally hospitable, and a fun person to be around. We came in as guests and left as friends. Our only regret is not having been able to stay longer! Well definitely plan to come back again.

This property is exquisite. The owner has strong experience in interior design and you can see evidence of it throughout the property. The design elements recapture the essence of the surrounding environment with nature recaptured in each room. The attention to detail is quite extraordinary. The property is also located on a mountain perch so the views are panoramic, serene and soulful. On top of this, the owner Helen demonstrates quintessential Greek hospitality and you feel such a sincere welcome into her home. She also took us on a free tour and took us around as we had not rented a car due to the short stay. She took us to the beach and recommended great places to site see. I look forward to returning again one day soon and I plan to recommend this place to all my friends. You will get an authentic Greek experience here near to some wonderful villages and away from the tourist traps that haunt the beaches and main port.

Located in a very peaceful area up in the Naxos hills, with sweet local villages about 10-15 minutes drive away, clean and fresh rooms, a wonderfully helpful, generous and outgoing propieter who provided us with lots of lovely local produce and very useful tips, a car is a must if you stay here. Would stay here again.

Youll leave here thinking 3 things: that was beautiful, that was delicious, and when do we go back?We searched out Naxos not for the beaches but the landscape, and that search led to Eliaolithos. Though our stay was short, we got to see more of the island than wouldve been possible at any other accommodation. The owner Helen is the definition of Greek hospitality—instantly endearing, charismatic, and generous. She picked us up from the port and shared with us the best Naxos has to offer: textiles and local food from family shops in Halki, pottery and architecture in Apiranthos, quince with locals at Mt. Zeus, and the most unforgettable taverna meal of the entire trip. The central location opens the door to any part of the island youd like to explore; we rented a car and accessed even the most remote temples and sanctuaries, easily finding our way back to the hotel after dark, a brightly lit beacon in the sparsely populated hills. For food and sights, you need to go no further than Elaiolithos itself. The patio garden provided tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, zucchini, and more, and each suite overlooks the lush valley all the way to the water—a view that competes with any other Greece has to offer. Elaiolithos is a proud product of Naxoss past and a unique vision for its future potential. The suites capture the magic of Naxos with handmade products and custom designs assembled by Helen, all maintained beautifully.Absolutely unforgettable, highly recommend.

The owner was extremely helpful and hospitable. A wonderfully serene place located in the center of Naxos. Easily could drive to all parts of the island. A few local villages nearby for that true Naxos experience. The hotel itself is new and very clean. Local garden so you have access to produce. Would stay again!
