OUTSIDE: Monte Verde Lake (2.1 miles), Oeste Vista Trail (3.7 miles), Eagle Nest State Park ( 16.1 miles), Coyote Creek State Park (16.9 miles), Cimarron Canyon State Park (26.7 miles)
TEE TIMES: Angel Fire Resort Golf Course (2.7 miles), Angel Fire Country Club (2.8 miles), Valle Escondido Golf Course (16.8 miles)

The welcome book you will be provided via pdf and in hard copy at the cabin has information on things to see and do as well as places to eat and shop!

NOTE: The property sleeps 12 guests in 7 beds with room for 13 using the convertible bean bag.
NOTE: 4WD, AWD, or chains are necessary in the winter to access the property.
NOTE: Your safety maters. This property features one exterior security camera located on the garage facing the driveway and does not look into interior spaces. The camera does not actively record video sound while guests are in residence.
NOTE: While the property does have one bedroom/half bath on the entry floor, stairs are required to access the main floor and master bedroom level which may be difficult for guests with limited mobility.

We stayed at Lazy Bear for a spring break ski trip with two families. The bunk room was great for the kids. We used the grill to make dinner multiple times and the kids loved the hot tub out back. The driveway is steep but our SUV has no issues making it up after it snowed. The garage was super convenient to unload ski gear after a day on the slopes. The owners stayed in touch the entire time and made sure any and all questions were answered quickly. Overall great cabin and fantastic trip!

Thank you for a relaxing stay! The cabin is really quiet with beautiful views. It was clean, roomy and had nice upgrades. The owners were easy to communicate with and included a lot of nice thoughtful details for their guests. We would love to stay here again.

It was a sublime visit with the perfect balance of outdoor activities and relaxation. The views were breathtaking and the interior was equally as stunning. The hosts were easy to get in touch with and were very friendly. The directions were clear and I would strongly recommend staying at this house to anybody.

I can't say enough great things about our stay. The cabin was extremely spacious for our family with 2 kids and our friends. Everything was clean and fully stocked. We had so much fun in Angel Fire and enjoyed the amazing views from the huge windows and porch. The hosts were very responsive and hospitable. We hope to be back again and will be recommending this place to our friends.

The spectacular 30+ mile views from this wonderful cabin are difficult to duplicate. The property strikes a perfect balance between all the amenities one could want and a feeling of wilderness. Thoughtfully furnished, scrupulously clean, well equipped kitchen are just a few features of this property. Communication with the owner / manager was clear and prompt. Deer and elk appear at various times of the day almost as programmed. Being here just at the time aspens are beginning to turn was magical. We will recommend this property without reservation. Thanks for sharing.

The perfect family getaway in the mountains. Beautifully decorated, furnished and equipped. This is one of the most welcoming properties we have rented, with plenty of gathering spaces for all ages. Easy access to Angel Fire as well as the other activities in Red River, Taos & our favorites fishing destinations. We are definitely planning a return trip.

Sent questions ahead of our stay through the VRBO traditional channel. Received a generic message back 3 WEEKS PLUS later string I needed to contact a different more local group the day of arrival! The cabin could have been cleaner. Contact person changed halfway through our stay with another person involved, there was no internet on out last day at the cabin but because there was No internet and there was l explicit instructions to not reset the router we were left Internet less. Overall, on my bottom tier of short-term vacation rental services.

We had an amazing stay!! We had 9 adults and 3 kids and had PLENTY of space. I couldn’t believe we never felt crowded or cramped- it was one of the things I worried about before we went, but it was no problem at all. There was enough seating for meals with the large table and bar area. Plenty of beds. Everything was very clean, comfortable and well-kept. Never had problems getting enough hot water for everyone (and showers were amazing!) My kids also enjoyed the 2 jetted tubs. Nothing can beat the view from the back deck, either. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks so much for opening your home to guests!

We felt like rooms were spacious and comfortable. There were TVs in every room. House was very clean. Beds and linens were very comfortable. Hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with. Location was great and provided amazing views. Was great for all ages and we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed at Lazy Bear Peak with a group of friends just before Christmas and all of us loved the beautiful cabin tucked away in the hills! The owners are very quick to respond and made sure we feel welcome in their home. Our group had a great time and enjoyed chatting and playing games by the fireplace after a day of skiing and hiking. The kitchen is well-equipped and the home is spacious - everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. Would definitely stay here again.

We used this house as our home base for a week in the mountains. The kitchen is fully outfitted, great for cooking meals in. The house also comes with a bbq grill, which we did not use. Bedrooms were comfortable, and the house has a great family room with a fantastic fireplace. We were able to walk to Cougar trail, which is great walking or mountain biking trail. Overall we had a fantastic time in the house and look forward to our next trip here.

We love the Angel Fire Resort area and this home is spacious and lovely. The views from the house, deck, and secret tree house are amazing! The home is very well-equipped and had everything we need. In addition, the owners are super nice and quick to respond to communication. Definitely a top notch place!

Cabin was a great experience! Easy access and to find, plenty of room for everyone and lots of hot water! Will definitely be returning for more stays and will highly recommend to friends. There were a few items that were not clean and only took a few moments for us to correct. Otherwise overall rating would be a 4.5!

Beautiful property in a wooded area with a great view. Everything you could possibly need was supplied (especially if you plan on cooking)! Owner was very accommodating and we all loved our Thanksgiving getaway. Would rent again!

Home and property were lovely. Only issue we had was the temperature of the home. It would not get above 63 degrees. During this time of year makes for very cold days and nights.

We had a wonderful 3 days here. Sitting out on the deck was amazing whether during the day for an awesome view of the valley or at night with an enchanting view of village lights and stars. Hearing nothing but the sound of the wind rolling through the mountains was very relaxing. Saw wild turkey and deer. It wasn't long after we arrived that my wife said we need to come back again, but next time for an entire week! Owner was very concerned for our safety as soon as he was aware of the situation (Luna fire) and contacted me to let me know the situation. Definitely recommend!
