I was so surprised by this place! Came here for 1 night with my family Amazing old convent turned into hotel an seminar site, completely refurbished. Beautiful and super comfortable. Recommended.

Great staff and cozy rooms with modern bathroom. Nice atmosphere in the hotel and on the terrace at night. Can certainly recommend this place.
It was a hot period and it would have been nice to have a fan or AC in the room.

Nice scenery and ambiance of the old monastery, calm and beautiful, nice terrace if you want to have a cake in their cafe (at extra cost). English-speaking staff.
The room was super basic, towels a bit worn out, air inside the room was humid and a bit smelly. Breakfast was very basic without any warm dish options, not even eggs, no sweets. Of course, nice cakes they make are only available in the cafe for additional price. The hotel has several nice terraces but breakfast was served in a dark and not so nice hall. Having dinner in the hotel the day of arrival was not possible (we were told you have to book in the morning which is before the check-in time), the closest restaurant is only reachable by car and happened to be fully booked, then we had to drive again to find another one, so getting food was a real nightmare. Check-out before 10.00 is a bit extreme too.

nice grounds, location, and breakfast
furniture and facilities were more like a retreat house or seminary than a hotel.

The property is clean and well maintained. The setting is stunning.
No fridge, TV, or fan in the room. if you opened the window you could hear the road noise so not ideal. in the summer it was rather stuffy with the windows closed.
Breakfast was simple, but adequate.

Beautiful old (renovated!) building in a beautiful location.

Very quiet area. Beautiful gardens. Nice view from the terrace

Delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, beautiful scenery and all other things are great.
The price is a bit high. It could be far better if the price is lower than now.

The monastery is beautiful and really well maintained. You can walk freely around building and grounds which are very well maintained. Staff were excellent.
I find it a little overpriced, but it is all about the located and experience. Breakfast was very basic but in the great hall which is really nice

An interesting experience to stay in a Kloster, even with a Kirche.
The breakfast can be better.
BTW, hot water (for child) costs 3CHF.

Great stay in the abbey. Nice to walk in the surroundings after dinner. You can pre order a 3 course dinner. Easy if you don’t want to go out anymore. Good room, nice views and okay breakfast.

Kloster Kappel is a beautiful place amidst wonderful surroundings. The view from the room was great, and the building with the church and garden made the visit contemplative.

It was superb value for money. It is a Cloister, renovated with a religious overture and context to the buildings. It is exactly what I expected and I loved the sheer simplicity and functionality. It was warm, friendly and inviting. B'fast was a buzz with children's laughter and atmosphere. For a business traveler used to lone travels it was a most welcome change. The rooms are spartan but wholly functional with great views, Good off-road parking. Wifi worked well and the surrounds and location for a restful nights sleep away from hustle and bustle was exactly what i was looking for. Yet only 30mins from the airport between Zug and Zürich situated on a hill leading to a small valley, it is like being transported to another world. Would definitely stay there again and would definitely look at this hotel if flying out of Zürich main airport and not stay in one of the soulless (expensive) chain hotels down on the motorway or main routes into the airport. Absolutely loved it.
Zug lake and restaurants are only 20minutes down the hill. Could be a good place to explore the region, I could imagine the cherry tress in blossom, the lake and restful nights sleep could be a perfect combination for a spring weekend getaway :)
Pillows, but this is a pet hate of mine, way too soft...! Replenishing the B'fast buffet was a little hap-hazard and bit of a 'bun fight' but I could probably benefit from a light b'fast now and again ;)
