“When you go to Naples you cry twice: when you arrive and when you leave”, people say. Naples is a unique city, to experience by walking through the alleys, smelling the scent of gastronomic delicacies in the air and admiring its rich artistic and monumental heritage. Naples is at the origin of a peculiar culinary tradition for its famous Neapolitan pizza, and the art of its pizza makers has been declared an intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Walking through Spaccanapoli, the street that cuts the city in half, you will cross its millenary history thanks to the presence of ancient palaces and churches, such as the Cathedral of Naples and the Maschio Angioino. If there is a symbolic place of Naples, this is Piazza del Plebiscito, today a symbol of the new "Neapolitan Renaissance" where tourists come to admire its grandeur and its two jewels: the neoclassical colonnade of the church of San Francesco di Paola and the Palazzo Reale. Today it is also possible to visit "the underground city", or the so-called "womb of Naples", used by the Neapolitans as a refuge during the bombings, where tourists can cross the Greco-Roman aqueduct, the air-raid shelters and finally visit the Museum of the War.
Not to be missed is San Severo Chapel which houses the sculpture of the Veiled Christ, one of the most fascinating and mysterious works that can be seen in Naples, the result of the talent of Giuseppe Sanmartino.
Napoli Central station is around 2 km from the apartment, while Naples Capodichino airport is easily reachable in less than 20 minutes by car.

The list of things that were horrible with this place is about mile long. We booked a 5 night stay but ended up only staying one night because it was so bad. And the only reason one night was we had nowhere else to go. The person to check us in was late so we had to wait outside with our bags for 45-60 minutes. To get into the complex you have to go through a tiny door (like comically tiny). The place was filthy, and have about 30 picture to prove it including mold growing all over the place. There was a bed missing, some random luggage sitting in the living room, dirty sheets from previous guests were in the closet, the wifi didn’t reach the whole apartment was slow and kept shutting off, the TV didn’t work, there were cigarettes and ashes left in the apartment, the washer leaked, and there is only one set of keys so if you’re traveling with anyone else you can’t leave the electric on whike one person takes the keys. I contacted the house immediately about the issues and they were very non responsive taking 12+ hours to actually get to anyone who was at least willing to listen. Their only solution was for us to wait for them to send someone to come and fix everything (how to you clean hold in an hour?) while we were on vacation with limited time. We were unwilling to do so and felt unsafe with the mold having a small child and pregnant wife we decided to leave and the host and VRBO refused to refund us any money until we reported them and then only offered about 10% back.

This apartment has a great location and swas spacious enough for our family of seven. Communication at the outset wqs pretty good, except for getting repeat messages sent out automatically about the need to provide more information even though we HAD already supplied all information requested. The intro from the host was excellent, but after we asked some questions for which they apparently had no good answers they stopped responding and eventually we gave up., The place needs night lights in the long hallways so that going the bathroom at night is not such a chore without a flashlight. Leaving English language instructions for the washing machine is a must. We were left containers of liquid soap for handwashing and shampooing but all were watery and almost empty
