Soooo - I really wanted to like this place but. . . . The common areas are all taken over by restaurant and coffee house space. The management doesn't offer a coffee table in the morning so you are stuck waiting for 30 minutes for a decent coffee. The pool isn't heated and useless in the.cold months.

I really like the hotel. My only small complaints are ... 1. I was two rooms from the elevator and you could hear it going up and down all night (I used some white noise from my phone and drowned it out). 2. The gym is OK, but tricky to get to. Overall though, it's a great value for the money!!

Top recent hotel experience for me. Nice place but still very casual and friendly. Great location. I love that we were able to bring our dog with us at no extra charge. There's a dog run in the back of the building between the hotel and the lake which was very convenient. My dog had a blast and so did we. I can't wait to come back.

The Line is a great hotel centrally located to the convention center, lady bird trail, great restaurants and bars. The Line has a super chill vibe. Spacious lobby area and rooms. Great taco spot in the lobby area. I’d recommend this hotel and come back for work or for play.

It was a great stay. Was only here for one night but it’s among the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

My go to hotel for Austin. Great location coupled with amazing service and amenities.

I picked this hotel based on editorials and other reviews - maybe that set me up to expect more from the actual rooms than what I found.
The lobby and common areas are beautiful and super trendy to hang out in. The attached Veracruz eatery is also phenomenal and a must-eat on any Austin trip.
Besides that though, the actual room seemed outdated with sloppy updating - you could tell some areas have been painted over, over and over again. Furniture in the room was also basic and a bit beat up-looking. The final nail in the coffin for me was that there was no iron or ironing board in the room - just a steamer. This was extra inconvenient on the first night since by the time I found this out, it was already late and I couldn't call the front desk to request one since my baby (also in the room) had already gone down for the night. I was able to get one the next day, but this seemed like an extra and unnecessary step - I've never actually stayed in a hotel that didn't already include this in the room.
The location of the hotel was great and staff was friendly. For me, the actual rooms just left more to be desired.

The LINE is very conveniently located. The hotel is showing it's age but it is close to just about everything and has a great restaurant. I would definitely stay again

Nice stay in a very trendy hotel.
Dining options were a bit confusing but its close to the music centre & there is a nice river walk and breakfast options nearby. It has a pool (too small to swim in) and a roof bar to watch the bats emerge from inder the bridge. They didn't show.

Excellent hotel in downtown Austin. Very close to many great eating and shopping options. The pool is a highlight and we spent most of the days there. The rooms are lovely, with comfortable beds, nice views, and a good sized bathroom. There are a few food and drink options in the hotel. The actual food and drinks we had from each place were great, Alfred, Arlo Grey, P6 and Vera Cruz. The service from the three restaurants (not Alfred the coffee shop) on the other hand was abysmal. Unfriendly, avoiding eye contact, zero sense of urgency or attentiveness, rolling eyes when you asked for a straw or napkin. Drop and go then the tip prompt comes and the expectation is 22%? It was disappointing to say the least. There was one server in Arlo Grey who ran our food who was the opposite of those things and represented what service should be. But in general the staff at the restaurants were disappointing. The hotel staff at the front desk were always great though. Made an effort to make you feel like a welcomed guest. I will definitely come back to the hotel but might avoid the restaurants. I didn’t want the rating of the hotel to be impacted by the restaurants so I’ve kept at a 5.

Loved the LINE. Not only was it beautiful and filled with a wide variety of amenities, but when I contacted concierge staff about a special request before our stay, they were wonderful to work with and went above and beyond to make it happen.

Recently had a long weekend stay and I would definitely come back. The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. The pool was everything I wanted. The location was good for walking and Uber. The room was clean and comes with a nicely stocked mini bar. The bathroom shower head was so powerful. The water didn’t get super hot but it was warm enough to have a comfortable shower. The pool was pretty packed every day but that being said, I never had a hard time finding a chair. And while I’m on the subject of chairs- the pool furniture is so comfortable. The only negative I noticed was the noise from the elevator in my room and the size of elevator itself. I sleep with a sound machine but if you don’t, I would suggest asking to be in a room far from the elevators.
I also dined at the restaurant in the hotel, the Arlo Grey. It is pricey but I haven’t stopped thinking about the food so if you’re down to splurge, check it out.

What you think you pay when Expedia tells you is not the amount. For charging all these fees for the property etc is not worth it. We would like transparency where you think you are spending $250 for a room it’s more like you end up paying $500. Ok sure ate one time for $60 but that’s it the rest is taxes and fees and resort fees. The rooms were dirty and the bed and toilet were so low even for a 9 year old. Worst hotel and will never go back. And Expedia please do better as to letting your customers know what the total fees are.. don’t put things in fine print please put this is your total and stop lying to people!

This hotel was supposed to be upscale with great rooms. I think because I have worked at a 5 star 5 diamond hotel I may be ruined but I try to be fair on my review. Valet was my first impression of this hotel and no one came to me or greeted me. I had to go up to the podium and interrupt their conversation on a football game. No one offered to help with our luggage & no bellman came over. We had to struggle caring our bags. Check in agent was very nice, it was a little loud and busy due to a wedding party. Not her fault though. The elevator bank looked like it was rigged up by a amateur electrician and only 1 out of the 2 banks worked, which was annoying because it was busy. The room was ok nothing great. The beds were not comfortable and lumpy. The bathroom was clean. The shower tile was very outdated and old. The view was partly of an ugly parking area, but I wasn't there to look out my window the whole time. Valet got friendlier after I tripped them even though parking was $50+ a night even for hotel guests. I guess that's normal now. Overall it's very overpriced and I will not stay here again.

Great place and awesome location. Pool gets pretty crowded on the weekends as expected, but everything else is perfect.

I had a suite. The couch had stains on it, and the bed was too low to the ground.

Excellent location! We had easy access to all major highways. The hotel was right next to the bat bridge. The restaurant and bar had a good menu and bar. All the staff was very helpful. We would definitely stay at the hotel again.

What ever you are washing your sheets, towels and robes with needs to change - it makes everything terribly stiff and uncomfortable.

Probably the first full 5/5 rating i have given. From the room to the view, the pool, bar, all around vibe and location. Will come back 100 percent.

The Line is a hip and modern hotel - especially on the ground floor and the pool area. It's very convenient to get places downtown and very walkable area.
From the pictures on the website, the hotel looks glamorous and chic. The ground floor, from concierge to the restaurant certainly fit this description. But it kind of ends there. The elevators were broken on the east side of the building and a pretty janky cover was put on top. The staff at the front desk were aloof and had to be flagged down to get their attention (we were 1 of 2 couples checking in, while 4 staff members were just staring at their computers). The staff didn't inform us of any of the amenities, restaurant, cafe, or pool hours (seems like a pretty standard thing to do at a hotel).
When we checked into our room, it was directly facing a parking space (as in, the parked cars could look right into our window at almost the same height, so no privacy unless the blackout curtains were pulled). We requested a new room and a kinder staff member said it was no problem. The new room with a "lake view" had a small window and was in a strange inlet of the building where there's a sliver view of the lake, and 90 degree view of the adjacent room. The beds are very low to the ground and room itself was a little musty.
I'm usually pretty easy going when it comes to hotel stays, but for the price, hotel itself doesn't really match. Best thing is the location.

Had a pleasant time. Service and food was wonderful at P6 for the sunset time and bat watching over the bridge.

My mom and I recently stayed at The Line in Austin for four nights, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, and we had such a great time at P6 for happy hour—getting to watch the bats from the balcony was an unforgettable experience.
What truly made our stay special, though, was the exceptional service from the valet and coffee shop staff. We were in Austin to apartment shop while I interviewed for a new job, and every day when we went down to get the car or grab a drink, the staff remembered us and asked how our apartment search was going. Their kindness and the fact that they took the time to remember why we were there made us feel incredibly valued and welcomed.
The extra effort from the team at The Line really stood out and made our stay memorable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Austin—especially if you’re looking for a place with great service and a warm atmosphere.

Valet parking is expensive.
Hotel is nice, staff is willing but a few areas still need training.
Main restaurant has a few servers still inexperienced and some are very good.
The bar is well stocked.
Watch out for the bathroom door, it is heavy and momentum will mash fingers.

Great place to stay. Lots of traffic and sirens during the day and night.

I love The Line hotel. I enjoy the breakfast tacos at the Mexican restaurant in lobby and I had amazing pasta at the fine dining restaurant in the evening . The coffee shop Alfred’s is excellent. I enjoyed the pool at sundown and I love the view of the river . The beds are comfortable; staff friendly and helpful, and it’s a great atmosphere and crowd. The parking situation is the only downfall as valet parking is pretty expensive but really the best and only option unless you park on the street. That being said I drove a couple blocks to a public parking garage and the 24 hour parking was only $10 less at $45 a day. I think the line was $55 or $58 a day (something close to that). All that being said if you add that on to the cost of the hotel per night I still think you are getting your moneys worth, and the value per night is well met and worth the cost per night. I love this hotel .

I'm a little surprised by the price of this hotel. While it seems like it's a little fancy and trendy, it lacks functionality. There are lighted mirrors available to request because the light in the bathroom is very dim and yellow in some rooms. Seems like it was more about looking different than actually using the mirror. There were not a lot of surfaces for our belongings in our first room. There was a large wet spot on the carpet outside the restroom (which is likely from the poor shower design where the water just splashes out) and our tv didn't work so we were moved to a suite after a staff member came to check it out. The new room was missing a few towels. The towel hooks were clear across the restroom from the shower. Just kinda poor design and small things that lacked. I appreciated the generosity of the staff but overall it just doesn't feel worth the price. Not to mention the only option for parking is valet which is already expensive plus any tips you're leaving. I thought it would be great staying right off Congress but the entrance to the hotel is kinda tricky since it's so close to the light.
