Nice hotel with good food and the Staff were all great. With lots of hotels, the room was so warm even once we turned the radiator down. Given the cost of energy, I’m surprised the default is not having a cool room with instructions for guest on how to turn it up if they wish

We stayed here for one night on our way to Cornwall. It was a lovely hotel, with both a restaurant and pub attached. Food was wonderful and the staff really good. It is within Dartmoor so great walks all around. Would highly recommend this hotel and we hope to return.

The beautiful moorland of the National park surround this wonderful hotel. The staff were very welcoming and every staff member made the stay very personal. It is an amazing property with great facilities and surroundings. The bed was very comfortable. The room was as expected, clean and nicely decorated.

The location is brilliant, the decor is lovely, the bed was comfortable. The menu was limited, the service was slow, the food was lukewarm. The afternoon tea was too expensive and did not offer value for money.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. This was the second time we have been here and would definitely return. Food lovely and sitting on the terrace with a drink is nice. Staff are lovely and friendly. It was also lovely to see the management hands on and thanking there staff for coming in early to help which I over heard and thought it was nice to hear. All in all a pleasant stay.

Lovely hotel in beautiful countryside. Great room with a Robert’s radio and a Dyson hairdryer-how good is that😀 just a short drive to see the wildlife and amazing walks around the moors.

Overall our stay was good. The evening menu was limited and the breakfast menu wasn’t accurate. Eg kippers and eggs was actually kipper and egg. Evening meal fish and chips came served covered in rock salt and had to be sent back.

The staff are extremely helpful and the property itself is located in a beautiful location with stunning facilities. The rooms are a little small but very clean and with all the necessities you need available. All in all an excellent venue and well worth a visit.

Hotel was very nice. Would be extremely sceptical booking with hotels.com again. Information on their website about the rooms amenities were incorrect. It stated we had booked a king size bed (but for that room class the hotel issues smaller beds - doubles). It also stated there would be robes and slippers supplied, and the hotel does not supply these.

The Hotel is absolutely lovely, the rooms are great. Loveld the touches like a dyson hairdryer. The grounds are supeb too. We ate out for dinner, so cannot comment on evening meals, breakfast was slow and underwhelming. Plus got the order wrong. The biggest issue for us was the staff seem miserable and not terribly helpful. Popped to the bar for a drink and after not being acknowledged for a good 5 minutes, asked if we should pour our own drinks? Was then snapped at. Would be so much better if the staff were more smiley and helpful. Great uniform though and very well presented.

We found the hotel to be excellent in all aspects. We arrived fairly late (10pm) but were able to get a bottle of wine to enjoy in the very comfortable lounge area. The hotel is very spacious and well appointed. The gardens are beautiful and our breakfast was very tasty. Although the hotel was busy (as evidenced from breakfast) it was also very quiet and peaceful. All around a fantastic option for anyone looking for a hotel in the area and excellent value.

The hotel was fine and service was good, however the hotel welcomes dogs so if you don't like dogs do not use the restaurant. When we ate in the restaurant more than half the tables had dogs and some had two dogs. As a new dog entered, there was a barking competition between them all. If you're a dog lover then you would probably love it here.
