Pleasant pub stay , stay were excellent .
Great character pub with some nice touches in the room .

We stayed in a separate building a couple of minutes walk from the main building which wasnt a problem once we found if and the room was lovely(room was called Dog)
There was ample private parking which was a bonus as the main building had limited spaces.Breakfast was superb with plenty of choice and friendly service.Couldnt fault and would definitely return

Very comfortable clean and good size room. Delicious breakfast.

Rooms were lovely and decorated to a high standard however there is no sound proofing between the pub and your room. You could hear conversations of those in the pub below but it did quiet down at 11 which wasn’t too bad. Unfortunately there are also rooms above which have a very squeaky floor/bed which woke us up multiple times in the night even when sleeping with ear plugs. I do appreciate it’s a beautiful old pub but they do need to try and do something about the noise.

The Bell at stow was fabulous and the lovely lady member of staff who we dealt with on two occasions was brilliant. The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The only downside was the size of the room ( squirrel). The room was very small and by no means suitable for a couple to share, I would say more appropriate for single occupancy. Location wise perfect for shopping and visiting other areas within the Cotswolds,

Arrived at around 8.50pm checked in & told I was in an annexe - given the key & a tiny map - 10 wins walk back up the hill in the dark & drizzle - key didn't work - tried to call the maIN HOTEL reception - answer phone, eventually spoke to the human - why did she send you there . . . walked back down the hill, offered the smallest room ever - superb decor, but no space to swing a dormouse (the name of the room) luckily chef stayed on 35 mins & cooked some lovely chicken Kiev, didn't bother with breakfast - at £30 too rich even for my business expenses

Great place with super friendly staff, good food and chill pub area

This is a charming property, with one drawback. If your room is in the Stuart House annex, be aware that the ceilings are low and in particular the doorways are very low. If you are tall, it is easy to bump your head on them, inspite of the posted warnings

Had a nice one night stay. Room was small but had pretty much everything in it. Restaurant was lovely, nice food. Staff very helpful and friendly. Reasonably priced accommodation would recommend for a short stay.

Rooms are lovely but as our tv did not work (emergency call out was in place), we were provided with a discount.

Stayed at Stuart House in the Horse room, which was beautiful. Room service was missed the first day, but staff were happy to bring over essentials once we had notified them. It's a bit of a walk to the pub for breakfast, but not a big deal even for my mum who has mobility issues. Breakfast is good and can be adapted to be veggie on request. Plenty of choices if you like eggs. The croissants and fruit were a nice touch. Good coffee machine in the room. Located in the centre of Stow with pubs and shops around. Would certainly stay again.

Did not realize this reservation was not at The Bell. Actually in a separate house up the street with no staff and no information on how to contact someone, entering through the back parking lot. Freezing first night since didn’t know how to turn on radiator and no information. Room was next to a street right outside our window. Between the cars going by and the late night party goers singing at the top of their lungs at 2 in the morning it was not restful. The ceilings were so low my husband had to duck to get through the door. There was an 80 couple that was placed upstairs and had to climb a very narrow winding stairs with their luggage. They also said they weren’t aware this is where they would be staying.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Stuart house. Clean, nice bathroom and a complimentary night cap was a nice touch. Loved Stow and this is in a great spot close to the town centre.

Check in was brilliant. The staff allowed us to check in very early and get ready for a wedding we were attending near by. We were given complementary drinks, which was very kind of them.
Our room was decorated beautifully with all of the amenities you’d need for a few nights stay.
I feel like the breakfast could’ve been better. The only juice available was apple. The only fruit was watermelon or banana. A wider selection of juices and fruit, along with some pastries, would make it the perfect breakfast. The cooked breakfast was cooked perfectly (although slightly greasy for my liking.)
Overall a very enjoyable stay. Thank you for having us we will definately be back :)

Our room was in a seperate unmanned building 300 meters up the road. Our first room was up a very narrow spiral staircase. We were moved to a downstairs room very close to the road. Breakfast was back down the hill in the Bell building (my wife wasn't prepared to do that and were refunded for her breakfasts).
Rooms were well equiped and decorated and toiletries were provided, large walk in shower, car parking was provided free.

Brief stay, arrived very late, could not have been made to feel more welcome and looked after really well, super helpful and pleasant. Location of room was on different site, not the easiest to find but really good effort made to help prevent problems. shower drainage was a little slow but super well equipped room and very pleasant stay.

Highly recommend this property. I was at Stuart House which is a short walk from the Inn. It was charming and had everything I needed. The team were gracious and friendly.

Lovely little find in the beautiful village of Stowe. Comfortable room, clean and well stocked with coffee, tea and even biscuits for the dog. A well stocked mini bar too. We stayed in the Stuart rooms about 200 yards down from the pub. Breakfast in the pub was lovely. Fairly priced and a great location for walks and surrounding villages. Nice toiletries and great shower. Easily walkable to lo lovely shops, pubs and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

We booked a double room, but were a little disappointed on arrival to find out we werent staying at the Bell as expected, but rooms 200 yds up the street at Stuart House. The room was extremely small and we found it quite difficult to move around the bed area. They had made the most of the space as it was fully stocked with fridge, tea and coffee making , iron and board, hairdrier, TV etc. But a little cramped for our liking. Would have booked a superior double had we known

Superb place to stay. The main inn/pub is near the centre of Stow and serves super food. There is a small courtyard development 100m up the road, which is where I stayed in an upgraded room. The staff are great, and I would highly recommend this as a place to stay - I was very impressed.

We actually stayed in the Stuart House that’s up the street from The Bell. So don’t know how the rooms are in The Bell, but would devotedly recommend the Stuart House property.

We was originally booked into a boutique room in the Stuart House. First impressions the room was lovely and well presented and we couldn't wait for our 3 night stay. After getting unpacked and settled I went to have a shower and the water was cold. I rang The Bell and a gentleman came over within 15 minutes. I got the impression he thought I was being picking. He rang the shower for a little while and tried to tell me it was warming up, it was barely tepid. I told him its too cold to shower in so he offered us a "superior" room in The Bell for the night. So we had to repack and walk up the road in the rain fairly late at night. The gentleman was waiting for us and said the room was ours for the rest of the stay and made some other comment which given the situation
I did'nt appreciate his attitude. Straight away we felt our new room was a down grade from what we had left, the bathroom and shower was tiny, you had to be careful how you dried yourself as you would knock things. The room could have been cleaner. Dust on bed throw and cushions. Dust on all the lamps and sockets. Other peoples toothpaste spits on the tiles in the bathroom. We should have said something but we felt we couldn't. I feel that we have spent a lot of money (£562) on 3 nights for something that wasn't worth that amount. Having said that breakfast was good with a great selection and the others ladies that work there that I saw was really good, very friendly and helpful and worked very hard

Great property and within easy distance of Cotswold main villages and sites.

Plenty of free parking out the front and the design of the room was beautiful, if a little tatty. Absolutely no sound proofing between rooms though so barely slept due to noise levels in the evening and very loud vacuuming noise early in the morning. I'm a heavy sleeper but this was too much even for me.

Well preserved historical building. Room and therefore the bed were very small.
2.0 / 5.0
Staff was lovely and the place was decorated nicely. HOWEVER, THIS PLACE WAS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. 1) The bed was so hard that I felt like I was sleeping on the floor. The pillows were hard too. I think I slept better camping in my tent. 2) There was no shelves to put your stuff, especially in the bathroom. I ended up having to lay my toiletry bag on the floor. 3) Pet peeve, but I don't understand how the room designer expected we use hair dryer and flat iron they thoughtfully provided. The only mirror is in the bathroom and the outlets in the bathroom does not support the hair dryer/iron sockets!! 4) The room was quite tight. Although all the decorative pillows and paid snacks look nice in pictures, they take up the useful space that would have given me more space for MY THINGS.
Overall, this place looks pretty in pictures, but was not a comfortable stay for us. I would not recommend this place to my friends at the current conditions.

We loved our stay here. It was the quintessential English country inn. Our room was well appointed with ensuite and great ammenities. The food at the pub downstairs was also fantastic. Everything in Stow was in easy walking distance.
2.0 / 5.0
Stayed in the annexe of the hotel which is very small and the room was reached by a narrow twisting staircase. So steep that we had to leave our cases in the car and take out the cloths we required. The car parking space was off the road but the path to the annexe is rough and twisty

I imagine when the room was first created it would have looked brilliant.
Over time, it is starting to look a little tired and could do with a freshen up.
Bed is really comfortable. Coffe machine didnt work and also Sky tv was offered in the pamphlet but could not access it.

It was a lovely stay but needs to be clearer that the Bell accommodation is the pub and Stuart House is up the hill c100metres away. The room was clean and very quaint. It was up a very narrow steep staircase - only a few steps it still quite steep. Staff nice and friendly and good breakfast in the pub!

Great property, although the glass of the bathroom door is a bit see through, no problem if you go with a partner but otherwise seems uncomfortable. But it is greatly recommended

Good location, good food, friendly staff
