The staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. The hotel was lovely and clean. The food was excellent with a varied menu. The atmosphere was pleasantly relaxing. The only out of place thing was a stain on the carpet of one of the three rooms we had booked.

Lovely stay at this hotel. We stayed in the cottages and it was so quiet with a lovely view over the pond.
The food in the restaurant was very good for both breakfast and dinner.

First I must say that as much as I would like to, I never get around to leaving reviews but I have to make the effort today. We booked a 2 night stay for a day trip to York. Staff, service, and facilities were excellent! Only gave comfort 4 stars because the bath extractor fan didn't seem to be doing anything maybe because the power and volume of the shower was off the charts; 11+ stars!
Our main concerns for any stay any where is cleanliness (regardless of the age or physical condition of a facility it can be clean) and shower. 5 stars here. A real win for us is our room was equipped with a large tower fan. All UK accommodation should consider this as most do not have decent air con if anything at all. The real benefit is you can direct the air where you like which is better than 5 star city hotels with built-in HVAC systems.
We stayed in converted stable yard, room 11. It was very spacious and comfortable. Choice and quality of breakfast was outstanding. Restaurant high quality too. It is a peaceful country setting, but with Selby just 10 minutes
away has everything you need. I wish we could clone this place for all our UK travel. If you have read my review this far, what are you waiting for? Just book it! Thanks again to the Loftsome Bridge for an excellent stay.

Six of us were down in this area for a family funeral in Goole. Very impressed with this former coaching inn. Surrounded by lovely countryside. The welcome was warm. The food outstanding. Rooms were clean and comfortable. A nice courtyard and outside area. One couple stayed in one of the cottages. Quaint with lovely views.

I have visited over 25 years regularly. The breakfast is not as good as it was the quality seems to have deteriorated. This last time I missed not having a lounge to relax in with soft chairs. The large room seemed a waste with the table and nothing else. Its location is good and the bedrooms are pleasant.

What a place. This is by far the best small hotel I have stayed in for a long time.
On arrival the team member checking us, had the process complete in under 2 minutes.
We had lunch in the bar, luxury furniture and great selection of alcohol if you wanted it. There was a limited small menu offering a good selection of meals all of which could be personalised. All served by the excellent waiting staff.
For dinner there was a sumptuous selection of meals available again all of which could easily be personalised by the experienced staff.
The rooms were exceptional, large, spotlessly clean, with very comfortable furnishings.
Breakfast was a la carte with table service. The only self service point was for cereals and fresh pastries.
What more can I say, if I am ever in need of a hotel in this area I would not give it a second thought, “ This is hotel for me “
I use hotels for approximately 75 nights a year and this ranks up with best of the best.
Do not miss this little treasure of a hotel, if you do you are missing out on a real treat.

An immaculately presented property set in idyllic grounds within the rural North Yorkshire countryside. It offers easy access to York and Leeds via road or train. The staff were very accommodating and the food and hospitality was outstanding. I will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quiet secluded place with the flare of elegance and delicious food.

I travel a lot for work, and always value a good hotel with great food and a good nights sleep. This hotel was a pleasant surprise on all fronts. Beautiful building and location, staff were really lovely, and the food in the hotel restaurant was delightful. The room was comfortable, the bed in particular was super - I felt. I don’t normally sleep well in hotels, but slept really well here. For this, I’m thankful! Thanks to everyone for a great stay.

Initially it looks very nice but as soon as you spend a bit of time looking and staying at the hotel it’s poor…room was very tired and sheets looked dirty.
Restaurant food was well below average with a cold atmosphere…
We wouldn’t go back.

We used Loftsome as a based to visit York, which is about a 30 minute drive to the park and drive, making it easy to get in and out of York at a reasonable price, The hotel was excellent, All the staff were extremely friendly, and the food was to an excellent standard, I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
