Was not impressed with the manager. Broken shower head wasn't fixed, he didn't seem to care. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet was fantastic.

This hotel used to be a part of the Romantik chain of hotels and was excellent but now it's a hotel Garni, just bed and breakfast and a shadow of its former self.
Reception only staffed 1 PM to 11 PM.
Bar and restaurant closed.
Poor selection of fruit at breakfast which was otherwise adequate.
You must ask for your room to be serviced. The en-suite could do with being redecorated, as could several corridors. I had the feeling that the hotel was operating on a shoestring basis.
The few staff on duty were friendly and professional.I had a good-sized room that was comfortable.

The location of the hotel is very good, within walking distance you can reach many places in Coburg.

Staff very friendly and helpful

A boutique hotel with old time charm. Good shower and bed. Some of the hotelrooms are rather small but I had a good size room. Lovely staff. Unfortunately the very good breakfast is not included. Location is central and convenient. -The parking lot was full when I arrived but it is actually cheaper to park at the underground city parking at the end of the road, towards the center. 80 yards/meter away.

It seems like the hotel was just coming out of a longer lockdown period. The front desk only had a part time person. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Friendly and helpful lady at the reception.
Some rooms are somewhat loud for my taste (I could here the street traffic at night), but otherwise everything is ok. I wish the lights in the gym would turn on early in the morning so that morning exercise folks could use the gym before work - the hotel staff told me "it was not possible to turn on the lights earlier", which is a pity.

A wonderful hotel with great service and a very professional staff. Rooms were beautiful, everything was tidy and clean, and the place offered a wonderful respite to complement the beautiful city of Coburg.

The Hotel is “ok” for one night! People on reception is very friendly and helpful… Hotel lobby is good as well… but if get a little later in hotel you are not going to find parking place… the room is spacious but the bathroom needs updated .. Another disappointment was the breakfast, they just offer breakfast box… no buffet…

Room was not ready at first, but staff sores my luggage. They were friendly and accommodating. Will definitely go back.

I love staying here. The employees of the Goldene Traube always provide service above and beyond most places Ive been. The facilities are wonderfully maintained and very accommodating. Keep it up!

Great location just outside Coburg city wall Judengasse gate. Our room had no aircon, but did have a circulating fan. Parking not plentiful and not easy to use. Menu in restaurant very pleasing, with its surprising sushi section.Think of it as a very, very nice traditional German spa hotel, but without modern conveniences.

I find it very hard to believe that this is one of the top hotels in a gorgeous place like Coburg. On a trip of four cities (the other three each being part of the former eastern bloc), this was by far the least comfortable, least clean room. The timy bathroom had no washcloths or hair conditioner; there was no help available with bags--though full of winding stairs; parking is not onsite and confusing to first-time visitors; minor inconveniences but they take away from the overall enjoyment. The most disturbing part of our stay was finding hairs all over our bed when we checked in; a perfunctory, insincere apology then required us to move to a lesser room and, having hauled suitcases upstairs to the fourth floor, pack and move all of our belongings again. Any other hotel we have ever stayed in would have 1) upgraded the room for the inconvenience; 2) sent a bellmen to help move our luggage; 3) offered a drink voucher or even a comp'ed night (since we were staying four.) They were not even able to find us a seat at dinner once the whole escaped wrapped up at 9:30pm. Although the following day we found grape juice and gummi bears in our room, this is not a place I'd recommend to friends or that I'd look forward to returning to. Unfortunate, too, since Coburg is a charming place. Would love to hear suggestions for places to stay upon future visits.

Very nice. Comfortable and good price.Struggled to find a decent restaurant in the area and should have tried the hotel one - it looked much better. Will definitely stay again if in Coburg.

A wonderful small hotel in the centre of town. Very friendly staff, great food. The restaurant has a Michelinstar but the service is very down to earth, but first class. The room was small but cosy, internet worked well, but no air condition. Highly recommended.

This hotel is a few steps from the Marktplatz and the Schloss and has a welcoming friendly feel to it. Anyone with any links to Britain or Belgium should find Coburg and interesting place given its intimate links with both sets of Royal Families. The garden below the fortress provides an enchanting walk up to the Fortress itself (we saw a hedgehog!) and this hotel provides a good base for operations. The small opera company performs to an extraordinaily high standard, all things considered, and the hotel itself contains an excellent * Michelin restaurant. We recommend the entire experience ie a couple of nights at the hotel, dinner in the restaurant, a night at the opera and a good look at the palace in the city (hourly tours) and the castle over 1 km up the hill.
2.5
Friendly, efficient check-in. Comfortable room and good breakfast. Would like to stay here again. I felt that I only scratched the surface in an overnight visit.
