Staff, Suzzie was very accomodating , friendly and helpful .
The hotel is undergoing upgrading, the room I had was of high standard , new , and very comfortable

Very friendly service by all staff. Didn't like the fact that the restaurant wasn't open on Sunday night

Loved the period property, right on the golf course.

We loved our stay here. The historic property was beautiful with lovely views of the golf course.

It was ok, renovated room very nice on 1st Floor and no Lift but ok for us. Light in hallway on sensor and was shining under the door. Not sure why it was going on and off through the night, couldn't hear anyone in hallway. Builders started at 7.00a which was annoying. Would consider elsewhere next time.

Just a lovely place to stay

noisy
sound travelled from each room and to the rooms at night from putting green when players practising under lights very noisy presumed drinking and swearing guests upstairs about 10 pm as no hotel staff on premises no way to contain that noise

Did like the heated floor in bathroom

Early morning noise outside window from what appeared to be machinery

Check in was ordinary, could not find our reservation.
Restaurant & bar closed Tues/Wed.
A few necessities missing from room - glasses, teaspoons.
Did have a beautiful view over golf course.

Food was excellent but we were given a room that wasn't safe or quiet, as renovation work was being carried out during our afternoon siesta and we also had a bad night in cramped conditions with a sliding door to the bathroom that dislodged off its rollers. Then in the morning workman clanging and banging at 7am so no sleeping in . We weren't sure if asbestos dust was i laminating our space from above ...Terribly disappointing

I’m a regular at Dormie and usually it’s good, however this time it wasn’t up to normal. A couple of things:
1. I was placed in Rm5, where I have stayed before. Unfortunately the cold water tapin the vanity only had a drizzle of water coming out of it, along with black water/muck out of its bottom. Hot water worked fine. I suspect a worn tap seat and washer. I was moved to Rm2 after telling staff.
2. Unfortunately when I found out the vanity taps there dripped and couldn’t be turned down, reception had closed.
To have 2 vanity issues in 2 separate rooms sounds suspiciously like a lack of regular maintenance and inspection. A bit cheeky when you have to pay full whack in advance through the bookings app.

Our room was recently renovated to a high standard. One of the best bathrooms we’ve ever had anywhere around the world. Even had underfloor heating.

Just a one night stay over. All good.

We liked the old charm property

Old and dowdy

Good location in a quiet area

For a pretty old hotel of this kind, maintenance needs to be reviewed.
The carpet was filthy, peeling paint in the bathroom. Small Tv for the size of the room. Dirty windows. Non-existent Internet. The heating was not working properly.
There was a piece of chocolate bar wrapper between the bed and the nightstand.

The refurbished rooms are spacious & lovely, however it would be helpful to have a guide explaining how to operate the air conditioner & details for the internet. I had to watch a youtube video to get the air con working.

Pictures of the room advertised looks nothing like the room I was given.

A very warm welcome when arriving. All the staff where very helpful when you asked them a question and found out the answer. A very relaxing place.

Cons: Shower curtain mouldy, no light cover in bathroom, no aircon, flyscreen not fitted so 3inch gap, carpet needs replacing
Pros: upright fan on cupboard helped on hot day/ night, sheets clean, quiet location (although upstairs guests footfalls loud), no signs to dining/bar
Possibly needs a heritage restoration grant to bring up to a basic accom standard.

Whilst our room had been renovated and has potential it was lacking a chair for both of us and no table to be able to sit at. There is an external flood light right outside the window making the room very bright all night. The exhaust vent from the kitchen in on the external wall between both windows making the room smell like dirty cooking fat - revolting really
A few easy fixes and the room would be to it’s internal appearance
The hallways and entry to the building are dirty and very unorganised - disappearing for the money paid

parking for guests was being used by golfers which meant parking in the street for some as well as having to carry luggage. Management need to be stricter on guest parking or you will lose potential guests

A beautiful property that we enjoyed very much. We had a lovely little getaway exploring the area.

The rooms need upgrading badly! They are very run down.

A beautiful setting and grand old guest house. The in house restaurant was excellent, with very nice food, attentive service and charming environment. The vista across the golf courses from the deck is perfect for predinner drinks. We stayed in a renovated room so it was extremely nice, i understand not all rooms are renovated so you might want to confirm when booking.

We have stayed here a couple of times. We were given a VERY small room, even though the hotel was almost empty. Staff rarely there, Sadly, the place has great possibilities but very tired. It was a Sunday night, no food available. Kettle in the room didn't work properly. Everything so crowded. Staff didn't seem to care.

Quiet and clean, great for a golf weekend

The room is new renovation and plenty of space. This is a family room and very clean . But you can hear the noise from next room and the hall way . Restaurants ok maybe not enough staff ! The price just for 3 adults nearly $ 400 for just one night only. May be not next time 😕

The rooms were very dated and needed a better clean

Staff are great. Old part of hotel is comfortable but dark, dreary. New refurb is looking excellent. Location is very lovely.

I think it was last painted in 1934. The standard rooms have Double beds. Our room was cold. There was no phone in the room which was upstairs. No lift. No table or work surface or comfortable chair. The deal offered for meals and bed was limited - main plus one other course for dinner - and expensive when you look at the quality of what was offered. You couldn't use the Bar after dinner as all of the outside furniture had been bought in and stacked there.
I would never stay there again.

Great location and staff. Have stayed here before and love the old world vibe although our room was a little old and tatty. Service is great, friendly and attentive. And love the golf course, with another fantastic course (Mt Broughton) 5 mins down the road.
