We came during the rainy season and there weren’t too many other guests, so we felt like VIP’s! The hosts were very attentive and we had a wonderful time for breakfasts, happy hour, and dinner. The pool was lovely for a night swim and the room was comfortable with the AC. The property was a little tough to find because you have to go off the beaten path, but it was like a little diamond in the rough once we got there!

Internet TV but not internet in room, 3 white crusty spots on the cement couch, 6 head shower but only one shower head works and no soap if you book through VRBO, blood drops on the pillowcase and dead bugs under the pillows when we arrived. Worst places we stayed in Costa Rica Don’t do it

We spent just over a week in Quepos and stayed at Las Cascadas the entire time. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at this property. They were helpful, friendly and all around amazing. We ate at the restaurant a few times and it was great every time. The location is a 5ish min walk to the marina and about 10 min into the main part of town. While the hike back up the hill to the hotel is steep, it isn't bad if you don't try to tackle it in the heat of the mid day sun. A taxi to and from the marina or by the bus station in town was under $5 with tip, so it is easy to grab a cab in either direction if you're not up for the walk. We felt safe during the day and night going to and from the hotel by foot. The macaws were around multiple times a day and we even had toucans come and visit one of the days we were at the pool. The room was as advertised. The best part being it is close to the pool and bar/restaurant area. It was clean. The bathroom is quite large. My husband slept fine in the bed but it was a little hard for me. Nothing wrong with it, just a preference thing. The a/c and dehumidifier worked well and kept us comfortable. We had them switch out our sheets and towels half way through the trip and they also cleaned up some for us. There is a small coffee maker in the room if you're up before the restaurant opens at 7:30. We would book this property again if we decide to come back to the area. It was beautiful and relaxing.

First of all, let me say how absolutely accommodating and wonderful every member of the staff is. I give them a 10+ for Customer service. A problem is looked after immediately.
Now I would like to remind folks that this is a VRBO listing and it’s the only unit in the whole hotel that is VRBO and it is priced accordingly. You have all the amenities of the hotel that others are paying 3,4 and 5 times for. The unit has a beautiful bathroom with a nice hot shower, which is important to me.
I found the unit to be a little bit dark and had a bit of a musty smell, but they brought a dehumidifier right away which helped enormously. At the end of the day. It was a great price for a beautiful establishment.

A lovely boutique hotel in a quiet, natural setting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great place to relax and a good base for Quepos and area.

I'd read great reviews of the property both on Vrbo and online. While they seem to have good rooms, this was not one of them. It seemed to be neglected compared to the others. The room was not well cleaned, especially the floor. We struggled with comfort (bed, humidity despite running both AC and their dehumidifier, etc). The WiFi was also poor and did not work inside of the room. The location was good and walkable from Quepos/the Marina, which was the only plus for us. We contemplated taking a loss and staying elsewhere, but decided to just deal with it for 1 night and check out fairly early. We wouldn't stay here again.

Stayed here for 4 of our 10 day trip in Costa Rica and we were very impressed with this property! From the monkeys that came and visit at nihjt to the owners dog coming to say hello. The owners are also super friendly and easy to talk to!

If you are fishing, the proximity to the marina is the best!

Love this place and the owners. We booked on short notice and were so pleasantly surprised. Dylan, his Dad and Mom were a real pleasure.

Firstly I want to say that Dylan and his brother Brandon are two of the most wonderful people my wife and I have ever met. These two young gentleman that run this hotel were hands down, the most genuine, pleasant and caring young men we encountered on our entire 10 day Costa Rican vacation. They both are so well mannered and seem truly happy to help you with anything you need or just to make sure your enjoying your vacation.
Location is perfect for anyone with early morning activities at Marina Pez Vela. We walked there a few mornings around 6am in about 5 -7 minutes.
If you wanted to head towards Manuel Antonio, we usually would call a taxi, but there is a neat set of stairs heading up to the main road which I walked one afternoon to El Arado restaurant in about 10 minutes.
Walking to Quepos town is also very easy and in about 10 minutes.
The Restaurant/Bar and Poolside area have been newly renovated and are absolutely stunning with even a pair of scarlet macaws above you as you sip pina coladas in your lounge chair by the pool. The quality of food and drinks found here were on par with any other high quality restaurant we found throughout Manuel Antonio. You can tell that the owner Gary and his wife are in touch with what good food should be and the menus reflect their good taste.
We found that the days when we were between adventures and wanted to just hang back by the pool we were in awe of our surroundings, also the poolside restaurant/bar had and excellent assortment of local craft beers and if that wasn’t your thing, one of the boys would be happy to make you any kind of amazing cocktail you could possibly think of. I’ll add that if you find yourself enjoying the company of friends, sitting at the bar or restaurant, late into the evening, this family run business will ensure that they aren’t done until you are. Simply an experience that you will not find at other larger hotels.
Our room itself was as advertised, it is a ground level unit with no stairs between the parking lot and the entrance, the bathroom is gorgeous and it was stocked with toiletries, a coffee pot, filters, good coffee and a bar fridge.
Note
*If you are checking into your unit outside of regular hotel hours* I messaged “las cascadas” directly on WhatsApp ahead of time and Brandon agreed to be available for us at 1:00am to give us our key.
This beautiful boutique hotel as well as the family that own and run it are absolute gems and we will be back again.

The family that owns and operates this are very attentive and friendly. The grounds are stunning, the pool is so refreshing. I saw monkeys and macaws as well as other birds. They have an onsite restaurant with an amazing chef. The room is cozy but could use more lighting. I enjoyed my stay immensely.
