The highlights were the beautiful villa like property, the easy use of AC anytime without issues, and the delicious breakfast made specially for us. Also the hospitality and flexibility offered to us by Valerie was such a bonus! Location cannot be understated, less than 10 minutes walk to beach!
When getting dropped off, sounds like it's common for drop off to be confusing as Casa Mambo is a few minutes further than where indicated. This wasn't too much trouble as we were redirected.
Lack of natural light in room from our ground floor room, but didn't impact comfort.

it’s a minute walk to the beach. breakfast was good.
small. there are 3 separate rooms to rent and it feels quite crowded while in her yard when other guests are outside. there’s no air conditioning in the room and it was miserably hot. my fault for not booking a place with AC. We only stayed one night of our 3 night stay.

Relaxed atmosphere, nice courtyard and a welcoming owner. Close to entrance of Cahuita National Park.
No WiFi during our stay (3 nights), despite it was mentioned in their facility overview. Quite a lot of mosquitoes inside the room and there is no mosquito net for the bunk bed. And be aware that you can’t pay with credit card, but this is mentioned in their Booking information.

Casa Mambo is well-located; it's a short walk to several bars/restaurants and the beach, and the town center/national park entrance is a quick drive or a little longer walk away. All of the breakfasts were delicious and nicely presented. Our host, Valerie, is very warm and helpful, and she was always available for our questions and with suggestions for things to see and information about local culture. The grounds are very pretty, with places to relax and enjoy the wildlife.

the wooden furniture was cery nice, beautiful beach. I can recommend the reggae bar 100%. the owner is truly kind, not just for show.
some pillows were moldy. there was a lack of the costarican/ Caribbean flair.

Valerie was an incredibly courteous host. The building & rooms are beautifully created with wood & artwork. Everything new. The pool/spa was refreshing for the warm day. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts. Valerie & staff were enjoyable & they pointed out wildlife in the surrounding trees. The area was lovely and safe. A minute walk to the beach, a restaurant, & Reggae bar, and about 10-15 minutes to town. Hearing the many birds & the howler monkey morning wake-up call made our experience even better. We greatly enjoyed our stay!

Earlier reviews mentioned noise from the local bar but we had no issue. Though no fault of the property, there was an occasional barking dog from the neighboring property.

Pura Vida! Valerie's garden is way better than any national park in Costa Rica. You can see many butterflies, birds, hummingbirds, lizards, iguanas, monkeys, and even sloths while having breakfast or chilling on the sunbeds. Valerie is very accommodating and has great recommendations for places to see.

Under the tall trees teaming with oropendolas, toucans, iguanas there is a little sliver of nature paradise. Every morning with our coffees in hands as the breakfast was being prepared we looked up to enjoy in awe with nature. You will likely see more wildlife here than you ever will in the national park. Our host Valerie was very accommodating and made us feel very relaxed in the beautiful yard and garden that she herself had designed. The property sits beautifully in nature and yet is not far from activity, whether in town or the national park. Live music with a great local Calypso band played at a beach side bar just outside of the property for a memorable taste of local culture.

Great breakfast! Every day different. Cooked and served by Host and team themselves!
