About this cabin rental
Cabin in the Meadow is a newly constructed quaint & secluded custom cabin, hand crafted with love & timber off of our own land, where rustic primitive and modern technology meet. Tucked away overlooking the meadow and surrounded by fir trees, it’s the perfect little getaway.
We specifically designed our cabin for the comfort of two adult guests. We have a no young child policy, children over the age of 12 welcome.
Effortless check in and check out, we do not require our guests to follow any rules upon departure.
Come to historic Sandpoint, Idaho and enjoy our adorable Cabin located a mere 1.5 miles from downtown and walking distance to Talus Rock Retreat.
Upon arrival, you will find a book we created of informative tips and some of our favorite places to dine and explore to help you enjoy all Sandpoint has to offer.
In downtown Sandpoint you can peruse local shops, coffee houses, the Panida Theater, amazing restaurants, City Beach and the clear waters of Lake Pend Oreille.
A scenic 30 minute drive will take you to Schweitzer Mountain Village, where there is everything from bluegrass festivals to huckleberry picking in the summer and world-class skiing in the winter.
The Festival at Sandpoint's Concert Series in late July through early August is an annual event not to be missed!
There are endless opportunities to sight-see, bike, boat, paddle board, kayak, swim, raft, hike, sail, ski, snowboard, snowshoe or just relax in our picturesque town.
We have uniquely decorated this cabin so that you feel warm & welcomed, and rest assured that cleanliness is of utmost importance.
Included: Outdoor fire pit & propane BBQ grill. New Gas Fireplace, Smart TV, free WIFI, Bose Bluetooth speaker, Keurig Duo coffee maker and coffee, microwave, puzzles, games, books, and many more things to make your stay memorable.
Chances are good that you will see Wild Turkey and Whitetail Deer, if you’re lucky a Moose and/or Black Bear may pass though. Please do not approach the wildlife.
Surveillance cameras are in place at the driveway entrance and on the parking spaces only.
We live onsite and are close enough to accommodate you quickly if there's anything you need, but far enough away you won’t be disturbed.
We'd love to have you be our guest!
Special Seasonal Notes: Fireplace: During the summer months we turn off the fireplace pilot light, if you desire to use the fireplace please let us know and we will be happy to relight it for you.
Driveway: During the winter months the steep driveway to cabin is well maintained, plowed & sanded. However, we highly recommend AWD vehicles.

Have stayed here a number of times, the cabin is always a welcome place

We really enjoyed our stay. It was beautiful and very quiet. The furnishings were very nice and comfy. We only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer. We were very tired when we arrived from travelling and the cabin had everything we needed and more. Definitely would like to stay again when we are in the area.

Everything about this cabin was perfect. It was so clean and comfortable. You can tell the owners have put a ton of work into it and we appreciated all of the small extra touches from the wine to the readers. We loved relaxing on the porch and really enjoyed sitting around the fire pit. Would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area.

The cabin was 1st class. Everything was beyond excellent.

We could leave everything behind and retire here. It is that idyllic. Ok, maybe move it about 15 miles into the woods, but really, it’s that good. Kris and Rachel are lucky we left!

Cute little cabin in the woods. We were able to enjoy the deer and the wild turkeys and even had a skinny friendly cat come to visit. The cabin itself was identical to the listing except did not realize how difficult it would be for women in their fifties to be able to go up and down that ladder to the loft. It was especially difficult to get my friends huge piece of luggage up there. We spent most of our time there outside and would have appreciated more wood for the fire pit. We would be more conscious next time to bring our own axe and wood to a unit with a fire pit. The weather was great and we enjoyed Sandpoint.

Loved the cabin and the small touches were an extra bonus, Scones cooler on the porch, and the complementary wine. Location was great just outside of Sandpoint. Nice town and great motorcycle riding!

Beautiful property! Everything was exactly as the photos and listing indicate. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We all had our best sleeps here!
Rachel and Kris went above and beyond providing extra supplies and treats. We felt very relaxed and spoilt staying here.
We stayed in 3 other places on our road trip and can say that hands-down, this is the only place we did not want to leave.
We were blessed to see several deer on the property, many birds (our favorite being the Hummingbird who greeted us upon our arrival), starry nights and bats at dusk.
Rachel and Kris you have a very special place. Thank you Cabin in the Meadow!

We had a great time staying at the Cabin in the Meadow in Sandpoint. The hosts Kris & Rachel, thought of everything and made the stay incredibly comfortable while we visited Sandpoint for the first time. There was great privacy and thoughtful touches throughout. They had a great AC unit for a hot weekend. Thanks so much for everything!

The last two nights of a week long road trip were spent at this very well thought out, nicely appointed and quiet “Cabin in the Meadow.”
The hosts, unseen, made you feel welcome even though you never see them, but it is as if you were a very honored guest.
It is one of two places that we will hope to return to in the future.
Well worth it!!

The Cabin in the Meadow was the perfect rustic, serene getaway with a great location to enjoy all that Sandpoint and the area has to offer. Morning coffee on the porch with our “deer” friends will be missed.

The Cabin in the meadow is absolutely beautiful! We stayed there with our family and enjoyed every minute so much so that we didn't want to leave the property. The hosts, Kris and Rachel have thought of everything and we loved all of the special touches. The cabin is very well equipped and clean. The beautiful setting in the woods is truly breath taking...the deer greeted us each day. The hosts were very easy to reach and the check in was seamless. We will definitely be back!

The Cabin in the Meadow exceeded our expectations!
The cabin itself is well designed and the hosts thoughtfulness and attention to detail was first rate.
We have not experienced such a welcoming and romantic get away since Tuscany IT.
If we are back in Sand Point we will definitely stay at The Cabin again.
We highly recommend!

Loved our stay! The cabin was even more wonderful than we expected. Rachel & Kris have truly created a cozy space and have thought of everything to make it a home-away-from-home! Clean, private & cozy... super well equipped cabin & they always responded quickly when we messaged. A few of our favourite things: the drinks & scones that welcomed us, having morning coffees on the deck, & fires at night at the fire pit. An all around lovely place to stay and we'd love to come back someday!! Thanks for everything :) :) ~the "Biker Butts"

Every little detail has been thought of by the owners to make this cabin beautiful, comfortable, unique and perfect! Our only regret was not booking a longer stay as we were just passing through town

Such a beautiful location with a charming cabin! We loved it from the moment we walked in! The host went above and beyond by leaving scones, chocolates and drinks out for us. We could have stayed there for a week and would still want more time there! Absolutely a piece of heaven!
The trendy little town had so much to offer as well. Shops and food all within a couple of blocks so everything was accessible. My daughter and I enjoyed the hiking/biking/walking trails. We went on a run every morning and it views weee amazing!! There is a ski resort 25 minutes away and we rode the ski lift to the top twice and had dinner up there. Truly paradise!

The very best part of this property is the privacy. For all the introverts out there, this is the recharge you need! When you're sitting on the porch, you can't see any other houses, just that gorgeous meadow and woods. You can on occasion hear some traffic from a nearby road but even me who is sensitive to traffic noise didn't mind it. The only minus - nothing is perfect - is it's a bit dark inside though the kitchen is well-lit. I use a tablet for reading and such so I didn't mind but if you're one who needs light, bring your own because it's such a small thing compared to all the pluses.

This place exceeded our expectations! Very private and so cozy. The place is super clean and comfy. The owners literally thought of everything-scones, beer/wine, chocolates, bathrobes, firewood…everything was honestly perfect. We enjoyed a fire at night and had some deer visitors. Great location for hiking and restaurants. Great communication and we were even able to check in early. We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs and this was our favorite. Book it!!!

The Cabin in the Meadow was just what we needed and well worth the drive up from the Treasure Valley. If you're looking into other accommodations, do yourself a favor and just choose this adorable, well-appointed and decorated little cabin. It has everything you need to cook meals, relax by the firepit, barbecue and even a Smart TV in the bedroom.
It is very quiet in this part of Sandpoint yet only a 10-minute drive into town and Lake Pend Oreille if you choose to go into town. The Selkirks and the Pack River are a short, beautiful drive.
Make sure you eat at the Hoot Owl Cafe for breakfast at least once before you leave.
We hope to be back!

I needed a place to get away and relax for a night. This place did not disappoint.
The serenity is palpable as soon as you arrive.
Definitely cozy, but so perfect for a small family, or couple.
Arrival/check-in was seamless and welcoming. Very clear instructions for how everything works and where things are located. The decor, the mattress/pillows, and the complementary touches were all wonderful and I loved how everything was labeled. I also love that I didn't have a checklist of things to do before checking out.
10/10 in my book and would absolutely love to stay here again.

Beautiful cabin with a lot of attention to detail.

The cabin is positioned a perfect 30 minute distance from the Schweitzer ski area, especially considering the majority of that 30 minutes is driving up the mountain itself. The inclusion of small amenities like farm fresh eggs and cabin slippers were excellent touches from gracious hosts. If you are looking to stay in the area, I highly recommend this cabin and would stay there again if the opportunity allows.

We had the most amazing time staying in the Cabin in the Meadow. Our two boys loved the loft bed and the cabin size was comfy and perfect for our family. Every detail was thought of...from the little things you may have forgotten to fresh farm eggs and some local goodies. We loved the outdoor fire pit, sledding and feeling like we were in the middle of nowhere, but yet close enough to town and the ski mountain. The hospitality from the owners was great and we'd highly recommend this cabin! We greatly enjoyed our trip and hope to visit again soon!
