About this cabin rental
There’s something about the Wapiti View Cabin that makes you feel extra connected to your friends and family. Kind of like those herds of wapiti, or elk, that cross through the area every spring and fall. Settle in, stay awhile, and make memories in the heart of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
Our cabin is located 28 minutes from the western gates of Yellowstone National Park and is a spacious home base for trips into the Park, fishing, hiking, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, and beyond.
The space:
High ceilings, modern furnishings, and well-appointed sleeping quarters make this modern 6-bedroom cabin a perfect place to gather with friends and family.
Bedrooms include 2 king quarters, 2 queen rooms, 1 full room, and a master-adjoining bedroom with 1 queen bed and 2 twin beds (perfect for kids). You’ll also find a spacious living room with plenty of lounge space, two full bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with an open-air dining room and buffet island, a garage for your toys, a back deck (accessible during summers only), a propane grill, and a one-of-a-kind Western-style saloon.
Guest access:
Guests have full access to the house, driveway, and garage. Enjoy!
Other things to note
Before you book, read on to learn about a couple of property quirks to make sure we’re the right fit for your outdoor adventure:
While we do offer WiFi, the speed of our Internet *may* take twenty years off your life (although we promise the restorative power of nature will put those years right back on). While we can assure you we’ve spent countless hours with every single ISP in the area and offer up the best we possibly can, don’t expect to Zoom into meetings or (or much of anything, internet-wise) while you enjoy your stay in the great outdoors.
While we made Wapiti View Cabin as comfortable as possible, we still are located in a remote area and encourage our guests to prepare for some rustic experiences. That can mean drafts in the winter, hot summers, or the occasional four-to-eight-legged friend around the property or grounds. We like to think of ourselves as an extension of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, so it’s all part of the fun!
Please note that one of the bedrooms (the 1 queen, 2 twin rooms) adjoins the upstairs master bedroom.
For the safety of our guests, we maintain an outdoor security camera covering the entrance to the cabin, as part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem we like to keep an eye on bear activity on trash days, snow and ice levels during winters, and other precautionary measures to make sure that you have a safe and smooth stay.
Winters are intense here. Snow shedding from the roof, as well as icy/snowy walkways, can be dangerous and difficult to pass, particularly for people with ambulatory issues. The HOA plows the neighborhood streets but keeps a thin layer of snow for snowmobilers. We’re also subject to mountain snowstorms that can occur early in the fall and well into the spring.
Fire season typically falls between summer and early fall in the area, so air quality may be unhealthy during this time, particularly among sensitive groups.
The western gates to Yellowstone close seasonally, generally closing the second Monday of November and reopening the third Friday of April.
We hope you enjoy this neck of the woods as much as we do. Welcome to the greater Yellowstone region!

This property was by far the best place i have stayed in the Island Park-West Yellowstone area. It was very modern and spacious on the inside perfect for gathering after a long day of snowmobiling. Plenty of garage space to work on and park sleds in. Having 2 refrigerators inside was perfect in order to fit food and beverages for the 5 of us and having an ice maker was an added bonus! Stephen made the entire process super easy and answered questions via text or phone call in a matter of minutes. This will be where i stay from here on out as i don’t think things can get much better and to top it off the nightly rates were far more inexpensive than any comparable properties.

The house was very spacious which was perfect for the 6 adults we had on our snowmobile trip. The owner was very responsive to the couple of questions we had prior to arrival. Would definitely recommend to others and stay there again!
