This Hotel, is a little gem. It's easy to find, and is close to conscience store, metro, buses and taxis. Within easy walk to Old Town. The staff are friendly and helpful, English is fine (for those who may worry), the rooms are basic, but clean and reasonably spacious. The bathroom good size and clean.
The breakfast are basic, but plentiful. They cater all types whether you are diabetic, vegan or vegetarian.
This little gem is just that, a pleasant gem. And more so if you are only using it to sleep and keep ya things safe.

We had a short stay but the room was big and spacious and clean, couldn’t fault it, amazing location as well

The reception desk mistreated us. The main employe is a horse to say the least.

I regularly choose this hotel for brief stays because it's ultracentral AND convenient to the airport by public transportation. The rooms are simple but well equipped and flawlessly clean. Staff is attentive. Breakfast could be better. Both Dukes (Romana and Armeneasca) are great value.

In a good location 15 min walk to old town and nearby metro and bus stops. The staff are very kind and helpful. Breakfast is very good and sufficient but it would be nice if there is a little change from one day to the other

It's a good hotel, in good condition and with a good service. However as a tourist it isn't really located in the most interesting spot of the city (but nearby a metro station).

I recently had a highly disappointing stay at Duke Hotel. First and foremost, the cleanliness was appalling. The room was not properly cleaned, and there were visible dirt and stains everywhere. To make matters worse, there were significant issues with the hot water, making showers uncomfortable and unpleasant.
The biggest letdown, however, was the management. The manager seemed completely indifferent to anything but making money. Due to a booking mistake with Expedia, I ended up booking the wrong nights. Despite the hotel already receiving payment for the two nights I didn’t stay, they insisted I pay full price for an additional night. I was willing to pay, but they charged me the full price even though their reception sign recommended a price that was half of what I was billed. When I raised this issue, the manager dismissively said, "It is what it is."
Overall, the experience was terrible, and I would not recommend Duke Hotel to anyone. The lack of cleanliness, hot water issues, and the uncaring attitude of the management made for an unpleasant stay.

Very centrally located. The hotel is well-kept. The breakfast was nice. There are several restaurants and stores within short walking distances from the hotel. While the employee during my check-in was a bit unfriendly, all the other employees were very nice and friendly.

Good location of about 15min walk to the old town. Free buffet breakfast. The only thing to complaun about was the cold showers as the water was seldom warm.

Despite a few outside phone in calls wrongfully handle by the receptionist in the middle of the night, and the loud vocally next door neighbors in the last evening, overall, the experience at the Hotel Duke - Romana was satisfactory.
Its central location makes an easy access to the city transportation and the touristic objectives.
I have to express my thanks to the breakfast service staff and the last but not the least, to the attentive manager for my inquiries.
Next visit to Bucharest will be The Hotel Duke - Romana, no doubt.

The hotel is definitely a poor 4*s, rather a good 3*s, or a decent 3.5*s at best. The personnel is awesome, starting with the reception and continuing with the service in the breakfast area and the cleaning lady (Mihaela?) ... the personnel was not at fault for the large bugs on premises (took picture and showed at reception), or for the elevator not working one morning (had to go up 6 floors, involuntary fitness session).

The room was so heat. The night receptionist didn't succeeded to turn it off and didn't succeeded to find a manager, another solution (like change room). I didn't sleep even for o single minute.

very good location of this hotel, just a short walk to old town, there's also a supermarket across the street, the north train station is 25 minutes away by foot. The breakfast was tasty and a good variety of foods. I liked that there was a kettle in the room. My room was quite OK when it comes to the street noise - the hotel is located by the busy streets and a roundabout but I didn't hear it that much in my room.
The hotel seems to struggle with the space for a luggage storage.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights. Overall it was a pleasant stay with a few exceptions.
the staff, when we checked in, was welcoming, offered to help with luggage as we had no elevator available because our apartment was in a next door villa. One of the 2 bedroom beds was clean. Overall it look clean until next day when my sister made her bed and had to use the shower.
I liked the location, even though Expedia didn’t show it on their website, this apartment wasn’t in the actual hotel building but in a next door villa.
A few things I did not like at all were :
that one of the 2 bedrooms beds was dirty in a place where one would not look unless you were purposefully inspecting for cleanliness. We were way to tired to inspect the rooms for that and we SHOULD NOT have to. The rooms should be clean upon arrival. We asked for new sheets and they came made the bed.
A Big THANK YOU for that !
The shower drainage was extremely slow.too long of a story to write about here. Hopefully they fix the drain issue.
When my friend complained about the dry poop on her bedsheets the day after our first night there, one of the managers insinuated that she had done that and asked why did she not inspect for cleanliness upon arrival.
I’ve spent a lot of time in 3 star hotels in USA and never had to inspect for cleanliness.

Our room had a slanted ceiling so we could only stand up in certain areas - we both kept banging our heads on the ceiling - and I’m not particularly tall. It was very hot in the room and the AC didn’t work very well. Breakfast was included which was ok, staff all seemed friendly enough. We wouldn’t stay again though due to the temperature in the room and the fact we couldn’t stand up - we didn’t spend much time in the room because it wasn’t comfortable.

Excellent hotel situated in the best location for our needs.
We stayed for three days and got the 72 hours multiple card for bus and tram only for just 20 ron each. With this card we travelled to all our destinations including the huge and modern Mega Mall. (Bus 86 just around the corner from the hotel). The people at the front desk very accommodating especially Cosmin and Dragush. We will defenetily go back:) PS: If you need to shave bring with you a wireless shaver because in our two bed room 902 there was no plug in the bathroom.
