Old building. Rooms are on the second floor above a noisy restaurant with live bands playing very loud music. If you are in your 20s this might be a good place for you and/or if you like noisy places. The furniture is old and uncomfortable. Pictures don't depict reality. Too expensive for the value.

This place was full of character and charm. And for the price, you can't beat it! It's located in an old mill and all the rooms are above a restaurant. As such, it does get noisy in the rooms. With that said, it's quiet by 9pm, and since they don't serve breakfast in the restaurant, it's quiet until the afternoon. There's no tv in the rooms, which we loved! We would absolutely stay here again and again and again!

It was an old building and they had a sign about it which was helpful. I was alone and I don't make much noise but other people do! It was close to very good restaurants and a dispensary which was not expected. The hotel is non-smoking!

If you want a rustic no frills place to stay, then this is a good place to go. It was an unusual experience, but not in a bad way. There’s no real check in, but the communication from the information to get into your room felt welcoming and easy to understand. The room was clean but rustic and there’s no TV which didn’t bother us but could be a difference for someone. The room was a little small but cozy. We were in the side of the river which was a bonus.

Nice place to stay, very bare bones. Clean room with bathroom.

The bed is a stiff as a board, but other than that the place is fairly nice.

One word, "HORRIBLE"!! The room we were assigned was like 85 degrees when we opened the door. There was no AC, no fan, and no TV. The one piece of furniture, besides the bed was a bureau that looked like it had been picked up at a dump. it was so old and had a mirror attached to it. The picture that you are showing as an example of a room appears to have a modern dresser and TV in it. Where was that room? It took us over 30 minutes to get through to someone, and the person we spoke with said that they might have accidently turned off the AC when they were setting up the room for us. The thermostat on the wall was an old style dial, at least 30 years old, and did nothing when we moved it. The person's explanation as to why there was no TV or separate AC (they said it was central) was because the rooms were listed as rustic, They said we could look at other rooms, but we were done.

Great spot to stay in Wilmington. Located on the river with a wonderful deck to hang out on. Plus don't forget they're a brewery too!!

Very cool. Loved how it's attached to a craft beer bar. And very close to some good hiking trails, a gallery and dots restaurant. There is also the Maple leaf tavern across the street

This is a very unique property. It is a restaurant and music venue on the first floor and rooms on the second floor. The rooms are small but clean, cute, and comfortable. The rooms we stayed in had a wonderful view of the creek/river.
I also want to acknowledge the staff...they were very responsive and kind.
The town of Wilmington is fantastic - great restaurants, shops, architecture, etc.

I loved the access to the property with the codes and not having to check in at a desk.

Simple but clean room, great food and beer, excellent location.

Affordable, clean stay. Check-in instructions weren't clear as to what door to use to access rooms. Central location to a variety of hiking trails in Vermont.

Pros: Good location near to Mt Snow, responsive host when issues come up, clean, bar downstairs with a fire is nice, pretty views over the river and v close to a few nice restaurants in the town.
Not so good: Uncomfortable - quite rough sheets and hard bed, v thin walls and could be quite loud from bar downstairs and people and cars on the road outside (check if there's an event on!), no reserved guest parking so could be hard to find a nearby space early-evening (but fine all other times),
Fine for a few nights stay but overall just a bit expensive for what it was.

Great value for your money - close to Mt Snow, has a great space downstairs if you're looking for pizza and beer. Rooms are small but comfortable. The only thing would be nicer if the shower was bigger.

The Valley Craft Ales is a great location. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The location is convenient, right in the town of Wilmington. It is walkable to a number of restaurants and bars. Mt. Snow is 15 minutes up the road and the Moo-ver is a great way to get there. VCA also has great beer and pizza right down stairs along with live music occasionally.

It's a lovely place the location is perfect and the brewery downstairs is great. You can walk to other bars and restaurants and there are gift shops in the town. The rooms were a perfect affordable place to stay when skiing at mount snow. The rooms are not fancy but it did exactly what we needed. The staff were great and the building has so much history. It was built in 1820s. Clean too

We have stayed here several times when itbwas the Red Mill Inn. The owners were charming and would tell stories of the town and the history of the building. Now, there is a bar and pizzaria which is great, but there is no one to check you in or out. It is all done digitally. The fireplace is not lit. The whole Inn sode of the lobby looks deserted and filled with clutter. We only knew where to go because we had been there before. The hominess has left with the old owners. They were missed and we will probably not stay again. Also, all of the small televisions had been removed so there was literally nothing in the room but a bed, an empty dresser, and a nightstand.

Our stay was a quick weekend trip. Room was small and clean ok for a quick stay.
The bar down stairs was great for a quick bite.
Had no issues with room for staff.
Actually booking again for this weekend.

Comfortable, convenient and a architectural historic gem! We stayed for Labor Day weekend for a really wonderful weekend. The Inn is a historic property with old charm, the family room with the queen and two twin beds was the perfect size for 3 adults, nice bathroom and great views of the river! This is a great casual, convenient and comfortable property. The one concern was the windows didn’t have screens and it had no fan (a warm weekend but luckily a breeze).

It was weird staying in a place where no one was there. Valley Craft Ales was closed for a music festival but I was given the access code so I could get in but it was strange being the only guest in an empty building for the first night.
Otherwise it was fine. Air conditioned, close to all the shops and quiet. I loved the setting.

I stayed here for a much needed weekend away. Therefore, the 2-night minimum policy worked in my favor. I appreciated this policy to eliminate single overnight stays driven by the effects of the brewery on the main floor. The room was quintessentially Vermont, IMHO. No TV, but the rooms in the back of the building overlook the river. The room was furnished with eclectic antiques and a new, comfortable bed. Bedding was clean and new, with a rustic chic vibe. Bathroom was a bit dated, but clean and functional. During my stay, some rooms at the end of the hall were undergoing renovation. I did not hear any construction noise during my 2 night stay. This section of the hall was concealed by a curtain, thereby eliminating and perception of clutter.
The lobby area is not staffed. The check-in process is smooth, with codes sent to me on the day of check-in for the front door and my room door. The lobby area is large and spacious with a variety of rustic-chic seating and great views of the river. This space is also occasionally used for events hosted by the brewery.
Speaking of the brewery, the atmosphere is fantastically local, with many Cheers-style "Norm!" moments. Clearly many people in the area enjoy this spot as much as the tourists. Service was exceptional and friendly. The beer selection was fantastic and they even had an impressive wine selection (for a brew-pub). The homemade pizzas were above-and-beyond good! I did not intend to eat here both nights - but I did!

Family room in this rustic Vermont ski lodge was simple, clean, basic with one queen bed and two twin beds, one dresser, two lamps. Good A/C. Bathroom was clean, simple, small. The floor was slanted from door to bath/shower. The toilet handle was broken inside the tank requiring manual lifting of the flapper. We were staying to attend a family event so did not try to contact staff. Upon arrival a kind staff person assisted with our luggage up steep stairs. The bar/restaurant was open occasionally. We were not made aware of microwave in common area. No instructions were available in the room. One other person was on the second floor next door during our time. When they ran their shower it was very loud. Basic clean rustic place to sleep. Nice view out the back windows over the river.

Amazing location and enjoyed the restaurant and lounge areas on the first floor but would be great if the overnight rooms were updated and there were more amenities (like coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave) even if these are in shared spaces.

I had lots of fun staying here

The place used to be fairly large old motel/lodge (called Old Rill Mill Inn. The 1st floor is a pizza restaurant/bar and the second floor contains the rooms (most of which are closed for renovation). It's very much on the rustic/basic scale of things but clean and charming in a way. Beds are firm, and the old construction is noisy.
It overlooks a river that has a frequent beaver visitor. Several restaurants within walking distance and about a 15 minute drive to mt snow.
There is no front desk service, though it seems whoever texts you the room code is fairly responsive by text.
I did think the rooms would be slightly nicer due to the high reviews, but for price it's good.

The rooms were clean and safe (smoke detector, sprinkler system), and the bed and bathroom good. Beautiful creek view in the rear. There’s no staff; I’d been sent an email with door codes. I was on my own so having no staff felt very isolating. It might be different for a couple. Construction going on in the restaurant on the first floor. Workers were pleasant. Had to shovel my car out after the snow. Good pizza in the restaurant. Wilmington is an interesting little town. Check out Bartleby Books.

Unique historic ale house with hotel! Great fireplace in main room. Perfect getaway! Quieter than you’d expect! Simple and clean.

Great little downstairs area with beer and pizza- very lovely. We stayed in room 2, which was really 2 rooms, 2 twin beds in one room and a queen (I think) in the other room, with one bathroom shared between our two rooms. Nothing fancy - no TVs or anything, but everything was clean and comfortable and really hit the spot for a ski weekend. Very easy email communication w/the inn.

Loved that this was a historic building with so much character and history.
It's in a great part of town, walking distance to plenty of restaurants, shops, and a quick drive to Mt snow.
We loved that there was a brewery and pizza restaurant we within the same building during our stay. The view of the river was quite beautiful too, and a plus! There is very little to do at the hotel, aside from eat, so would definitely recommend as a safe and clean place to stay while coming to the area for other attractions, but not really to hang out at the hotel for long.
I would recommend bringing some board games or cards with you for something to do, since they have a bunch of tables set up inside.
There was no TV in our room, and the walls are quite thin (the downside of staying in a historic building), so plan on being on the same sleep schedule as your neighbors! Additionally, the showers are very small with no bathroom fan.
While the amenities lack a bit, being in a historic landmark in the middle of the downtown is a fun experience that I recommend to those looking for a basic accomodation in the area!

Very nice and well kept place to stay. Only two complaints but minor complaints. The bathroom was on the small side including the shower. I was also a bit surprised that there was no TV in the room either. Overall good place for what we needed it for.
