Walking distance to Rainforest Discovery center, orangutan sanctuary and sun bear sanctuary!
When we booked online it said that there were only two beds left. We imagined that we were coming to a full booked dorm - turned out we were alone. Actually we were the only ones there the first night and it was 4 bedrooms with bunk beds. Not so fully booked after all..
Beside us there were several big travel groups and you didn’t get the tranquil vibe. To add on to this the staff held karaoke shows and others came to the mic to get their shot at the microphone. This was also the only place they had wifi so you had to endure their lousy karaoke. The food also needs improvement - tasteless and mediocre, and the restaurants closes at 830pm.
It also would be nice if the cleaning happens more often - so many employees and still the trash/toiletpaper/etc wasn’t taken care of.

Me and my partner loves staying here, after backpacking for 6 months it was a lovely stay. Lovely pool and nice clean rooms, staff are lovely and a nice breakfast each morning.

The people were incredibly friendly. The resort is really fancy and beautiful and significantly better than everything in the neighbourhood for only a couple or EUR more, so it’s definitely worth it. Pool is amazing and orangutan, sunbear and rdc are on walking distance. You can also do tours to kinabatangan river through them. The beds and pillows were great. Moreover, I had a whole dorm room to myself and I could even stay the whole day after checking out.
Thanks a lot! I will def remember the personnel and this place in general. You made my stay great!

The staff is so friendly, the restaurant is good and a great prize. The pool is nice and clean just as the rest of the resort. The rooms are amazing, I stayed in a dorm, really big beds and nice airconditioning. You feel like a princess (even in the dorm). The whole place looks like paradise, i think would be a great place for a honeymoon
The opening times of the pool could be better, it opens at 10 on the weekend and 1 on a weekday. I was there for one night after the jungle tour and I wish I could have a nice swim after breakfast
Also the breakfast could be better, more options would be great (now it's a bit of a British breakfast). With these adjustments this resort would be a 10!

An amazing setting. Awesome location for the orangutan experience.

The lodge opened in 2022 and everything is still quite new. The cabins looked really nice, I stayed in a dorm though. The pool was a plus. Staff was really friendly.
I stayed for 2 nights during low season. The dorm was in a big house located at the furthest end of the resort. The house consisted of 4 dorms with 6 beds each und 4 bathrooms. The house and bathrooms were quite dark, no storage space in the rooms. I was alone in the dorm for both nights, the resort was nearly empty as well. The other accommodations nearby had more guests. So felt a bit lonely and creepy. I would only recommend staying in the Chalets.

We booked this hotel for the location, a close walk to the Sepilok Orangutan sanctuary, the Sun bear sanctuary and the rainforest discovery centre as a day stop before flying on to our next location - we would have stayed longer! This hotel was a pleasure to stay at with beautiful, spacious room, lovely quiet pool area, wooden walkways surrounded by tropical flowers and nature.
But the real winner for this hotel was the staff, they were so kind and welcoming, after a mess up with our flights they went out of their way to make sure that we were looked after and enjoyed the rest of our stay.
Food was excellent and well priced, finding vegan food in Borneo was a challenge but they had some delicious tofu products on offer.
I would highly recommend if you are visiting this area to stay here we loved it!

New hotel, good location for orangutans and sun bears and RDC. Large room and good AC, nice swimming pool. Staff were friendly and tried to help where they could.
We paid £100pn - expensive for what it is. Breakfast and food overall was average. Room was large but basic, all wooden huts which gaps in so the mosquito net they provided was needed. Bathroom was big but quite basic with large gaps in the floor for the water to drain to the soil beneath. No cleaning offered for our stay, we had 5 nights and had to ask for clean towels and to clean the room which they did once. Pool is offered to visiting guests to use on a tour so the 6 sunbeds aren’t enough for everyone to use. Staff were friendly and always tried to help but seemed a little lost at times. Mizzey (unsure how to spell his name) was so smiley and friendly and always asked about our day - his enthusiasm was endless, thank you! We did karaoke with the musician 🤣

lovely pool, which was brilliant after trips into the rainforest to visit the orangutan and sun bear sanctuaries
good shower, clean rooms, all quite new, friendly staff.
bottled water sold at a very reasonable price.
WiFi worked well in reception area.
air con worked well, ceiling fan also provided
staff very sweet
buffet breakfast was really poor. minimal selection and what was offered wasn’t great at all. fresh watermelon each day was the highlight. bananas appeared once in three days, but no other fruit. awful white bread for toast with only one (terrible) jam. English style cooked breakfast wasn’t good and the noodles option each day was pretty average.
beds would have been massively improved by a simple mattress protector as the small sheets often slipped off the mattress in the night.
curtains pretty but not opaque so sunlight comes in early.
no WiFi in the rooms.

great location with a nice pool. nice food. umbrellas for each room was good. The staff have arranged airport pick up and tours without issue.
Roosters start about 1am every night. barking dogs throughout the night. Geko’s or some other animal chipping away at the wood in your room every night keeping you awake. then the big green exit light (which is usually in hotel hallways) inside your room the doesn’t allow and darkness in the room.
The “bar” only has 3 types of scotch, tiger beer and 1 liquor. maybe some more options could be added.
no shade over pool and only 3 sets of pool chairs.
