Fantastic location, room design not so great

This hotel is very stylish, and the staff were all very welcoming. Breakfast was good, although not a buffet. Location was fantastic, really near to the port and the starting point for the Shimanami Kaido.

The room was an odd shape meaning there was little room between the bed and the wall. Perhaps that couldn't be helped, but the positioning of the only mirror in the room (in the bathroom) at navel height, was quite weird.

Excellent location right above Onomichi Station

Neat little room - tiny, but well appointed and efficient! Big step up from the genkan to the room. Not all rooms have this so be sure to check if you have accessability issues. It was very quiet since January is the off season. I was the only person in the restaurant at breakfast both days I was there.

なんと言ってもお部屋のデザインがお洒落で気に入りました。ミネラルウォーターのサービスやネスプレッソカプセル式コーヒーのサービスも嬉しかったです。有料のスパを利用したのですが、こちらも快適で疲れもとれましたし、友人とお喋りして楽しいひとときでした。寝具もとても気持ち良かったです。

トイレの匂いが少し気になりました。

Actually we enjoyed our stay. Room was clean and breakfast was tasty.

location is very close to Onomichi station. It is only 1 minute.

In front of washing basin is small size.

Convenient for train and ferry terminal

It’s is located IN the rail station. Rooms on second floor and windows overlook the tracks! Awoken by trains from around 4 am.

tiny room very cramped but great location and helpful staff

perfect location literally above the train station - there’s a lift inside the station that brings you up to the hotel. staff were helpful and friendly; decor is very nice and communal spaces spacious.

our room (double) was tiny and totally over-furnished - definitely uncomfortable for 2 people with any sort of suitcases. we had to put a side table on the windowsill to make space - badly designed. If the room had 40% less furniture (including built in) it would be much better. mirrors inaccessible and steps up into the room somewhat dangerous. plugs in bad places. there was a group of people very noisy at night slamming doors which is unusual for Japan. maybe other rooms are better than ours but for the same price in Osaka we stayed in a 4 star hotel with a king sized bed in a room 3x the size of this one so for us it felt like a shock in terms of value and comfort.

very nice room, all the amenities, and excellent and friendly staff

it is a bit tricky to find, the entrance is inside of the station. you cannot open the windows and you do hear the trains, not a big problem though

HBO was a great place to stay while we explored Onomichi and the Shimanami Kadio trail.

Lovely facilities and details. Very convenient location. Excellent bathroom.

Room layout was a little odd and for a double room was somewhat cluttered/hard to navigate.

A wonderful place to stay in a wonderful town

We loved everything about our stay here. The staff in particular were incredible. Our room had an issue with the temperature control and the staff worked swiftly to fix it. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfasts and dinners were delicious, and the location is ideal. I can't recommend Hotel Beacon Onomichi enough!!

noisy but very convenient location and delicious food

right in the middle of town so close proximity to the main transportation hubs. all the food here is very delicious!

noisy! wish there were blackout curtains. lights from the train station brightly shine in all through the night.
