Staff were friendly and helpful. The bedroom heating worked well, it was cosy. It was a good size. It was convenient to be able to park by the door. It was a rural location.
Everything was rather tired and really needed refurbishment. Although it was clean the carpet was quite badly marked. The bathroom was cold, the heated towel rail didn’t work and leaked a bit. An electric radiator had been provided and we used this to warm the bathroom. The bathroom functioned but the taps were very corroded and the shower dripped. The net curtain on the window had a hole in it. It was a shame it had been allowed to get so shabby. Although we couldn’t see anyone nearby we could hear loud voices till gone midnight even with windows shut.
We got the room very cheaply so it was probably fair for the price. But it appeared to be a temporary discount on a much higher price so I didn’t expect a lower quality room. Disappointing.
3.9
Quiet location but to the point of isolation.
Food and drink options very poor. Property quite isolated.
Rooms getting a bit tired and not an accurate reflection of what’s shown online.
Not worth the price tag.

We prebooked a room with a bath, which wasn't given to us. Hotel initially tried to blame booking.com. Then admitted it was their error but said they didn't have a room with a bath. We settled into a room on the second floor and then a manager appeared to say we could have a room with a bath in the annex. But by then we were not in a mood to want to repack and move.
Hotel bathroom was good quality with a modern shower. But the bedroom with a wooden floor and rudimentary furnishings was not relaxing or welcoming.

The setting was beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was dated and the bathroom smelt of mold coming from the moldy window and net curtain. Shower curtain also had mold on the bottom. I believe they are updating the garden rooms so I'm sure everything will get sorted shortly.
3.9
Picturesque manor with a great spa tucked away but close to many local restaurants, pubs and boutique shops.
The only negative is that they didn't have anyone in the cafe as advertised in the welcome pack, so I couldn't get smoothie, but the reception staff were great and made coffee for us. Even though they weren't confident on the coffee machine, I would like to thank them again

The room was shabby - tiles missing off the walls, rotten woodwork on door entrance, mould on windows - very different from the images shown online. The walls were paper thin and we had a noisy family with young children on one side and a lively couple on the other, which we could hear all the time. We asked to change rooms, but apparently none available and staff seemed indifferent to the issues. Definitely will not be coming back!
3.9
All in all, excellent value for money. The property is big, it felt a bit empty (there weren't any big groups). However, there is a wonderful pool, and that alone, the pool plus the grandeur of this manor in an area where, honestly, I would not expect this to find, made it a very good choice for a night or two.
It is a manor, but I would have expected a small bistro type of restaurant, to have dinner; there was a nice bar menu, but I would have expected something different (for dinner).

The stay was great, staff was very friendly, great for spa, amazing location and really nice rooms at the main building.
I wouldn't book garden room again, but I'd be back for the main room with no hesitation.
Garden rooms aren't quiet and attract garden life.
3.9
We stayed in one of the garden rooms.very quiet, with doors going onto a small patio overlooking the garden with table and chairs. Would stay again

Comfortable well equipped and furnished bedroom in the Manor House. Very friendly and helpful staff.

A real sense of grandeur in the very well proportioned bedroom. Staff were all very friendly, and the pool was very good. Travelling with work it was a very pleasant change to the usual well known brands. Despite being in deepest darkest February with miserable weather, you could gauge what a lovely venue this must be in the summer
Shame the kitchen was closed, but the booking did allude to this, and the room was priced accordingly

Nice place in the country, big bedrooms and I enjoyed the leisure facilities!
I didn’t have the breakfast as it didn’t look great for the money from what I could see.
3.9
Rooms were massive
Staff was friendly and nice
Very clean
Walls were very thin so you could hear people talking and walking around.

The huge room was great, bathroom facilities also spacious ! Plenty of parking , convenient for the A303 ( less than a mile away ) Ideal stop off if you’re travelling to Devon or Cornwall ! Ideal annex to Somerset ( Clarkes Retail Outlet ) Historic City of Wells and Glastonbury! The Swimming pool is excellent for lengths and there’s a great gym sauna and steam room! ( which I understand are being modernised ) The best part of the hotel is the really lovely staff who are so welcoming and helpful Kate and I think Laura are names I remember ! They cannot do enough to make your stay a pleasant one and such warm and friendly people!
The cafe / restaurant doesn’t do a full breakfast , but told it will soon when the kitchens have been refurbished , but the cafe is in an Orangry type building and it’s a lovely environment to have a morning coffee or tea ( or continental breakfast if you so wish ) Not really anything I don’t like much as it’s very good value for money!

Wonderful staff who couldn't do enough for you, beautiful and massive rooms, extremely clean with comfy beds. Lovely location, bargain and close to town!
Not dislikes, more for future guests.
Slightly cold due to the old manor itself and the time of year (Dec) - Staff were amazing and provided an extra heater and moved us rooms which solved the problem!
Cafe was closed and no food services available which would be a pain if you don't drive due to being out of the town. Again I think this is due to the time of the year. (Dec)

Beautiful property
The bath- hoping to have a relaxing bath and obviously a leak from the bath - someone hovering outside.
very noisy from above and outside the door.

Was a bit cold in the room.

Such a great Hotel with lovely friendly staff and a great atmosphere. We absolutely loved our stay, we are definitely going to visit again.
It was rainy middle of winter when we went, I can't wait to revisit in the summertime when the area will be so pretty

The manor building and the gardens surrounding it are nice.
I originally stayed in the garden room and driving from the manor to garden rooms it is very run down and not very nice.
3.9
Lovely big room and bathroom, beautiful grounds it was very relaxing and comfy bed!
No shampoo and conditioner in the pool showers. No cooked breakfast and the continental breakfast wasn’t as good as we expected for the price.
3.9
The massive bed
It could do with being updated, looks 1990’s decor. A few bits in the bathroom needed finishing off as not very sightly
3.9
Building had character, good safe parking, amazing staff and great facilities
No negatives

Lovely old house attached to a small.leisure club. Nice cafe bar for breakfast . Our room was huge and well appointed with towels and quality bathroom fittings
Not like a.standard hotel as no separate lobby or lounge / bar for residents
3.9
Excellent location, friendly staff, pity not very busy. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
Poor breakfast, no pastries / croissants first day, went elsewhere subsequent mornings. Also last day (19th) board on display for lunch but 'no chef' so nothing savoury available.
3.9
The grounds as I had my dog with me, he loved the walks we had in the grounds. The garden rooms are excellent if you are thinking of taking a dog with you or they would also be good for children.

Parking
Staff Unorganised, very limited food menu. Health club very tired/dirty. Room very cold. Took 20 mins to check in then I was billed incorrectly at the end.

We had a lovely stay at Holbrook! The staff were so friendly and even came outside to meet us late at night when we arrived.
Everything was really spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was so nice! Amazing shower and bath.
The location is really quiet and we honestly felt like the only people staying there it was so lovely and quiet and relaxing. Perfect for an escape from London life!
We will be back :)

We loved the place, the manor is beautiful and the rooms are big, comfortable and feature renovated bathrooms. The spa was very nice and featured a small sauna and steam room on top of the pool

The facilities that have been refurbished are very nice; comfortable and modern with a nice atmosphere. The pool and spa area were also nice although the pool could have been a bit warmer.
We weren't booked in to the right room on arrival as they had no details of our upgrade that we paid for, after showing us a choice of two rooms, we chose the standard double we had booked but unfortunately it was freezing cold and when we asked for an additional heater (twice) and duvet, we didn't get a duvet and an extra heater was put in our room but the first heater was then unplugged! The room didn't heat up at all, despite two radiators also being on (but only just warm). The towel rail in the bathroom wasn't one, we had to work out how to do this ourselves, and even then it didn't get hot, only just warm. The shower head couldn't be angled downwards so the spray reached right to the end of the bath and subsequently soaked the bathroom whilst showering. It was also only warm and not hot at all.
We called to book a table in the garden cafe for dinner at 6.30pm. We went down there at 6.15pm because it was warmer than being in our bedroom. The person on reception was also the person serving in the cafe so service was slow, despite only a few other people coming in during that time. The food took 40 minutes to arrive (a burger and pasta) but unfortunately the pasta was uncooked, there was no sauce so it was very dry, and I'm pretty sure the 'parmesan' on top was finely grated cheddar. It was also cold. I explained that I couldn't eat it (especially at £12!) and I asked instead for some chips. The server apologised and said the chips would be 15 minutes and served in a bag so we could take them back to the room to eat. We ordered ice cream and cake to also take back. Unfortunately the chips arrived in a pasta bowl (hard in the middle), and we then had to chase up the ketchup, ice cream and cake!
It was explained to us the hotel closed down in Sep due to lack of funds but reopened in Nov. They did let us off the food and drink bill but it still isn't acceptable to operate like this. We won't be returning.

A great location with gorgeous views and a charming oldie world feeling house attached to a modern spa pool and gym. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
There was no restaurant which was disappointing, however a very pleasant garden cafe was available that offered a limited menu and continental breakfast. The pool area and changing rooms were ok but needed a bit of an update, which I believe the current management are planning.

Lovely old building forms the core of the property
The hotel is mid renovation and this was not mentioned at the time of booking. There was no onsite food. There was no hot water. The accommodation was very tired with old furnishings limited facilities and lots of things that worked badly/need fixing. I could barely open/close and lock the bedroom door.

Nothing
No restaurant no breakfast. Leiaure centre run down. All needs renovation.
